B&B Question

I'm going to start watching B&B when Ashley comes along and probably earlier. Can anyone fill me in on the back story of this show, what is what, what's going on and who is who? I know about Brooke and Ridge and Taylor (is she still on the show??), and to some extent Nick. But I still need the crux of what the show is about and what to expect when I start watching... If anyone can help it would be great!!

Stephanie and Eric have recommitted to one another, even though Pamela (Steph's siter) and Jackie (Nick's Mom) are lusting after him.

Stephanie was abused by her father, hid it and when she revealed it that brought Ann her mother and Pamela to the screen.

Nick has been with Brooke, Bridget, Felicia and now Taylor. Taylor recently last summer killed Thorne's wife, Darla...hid it and fell in love with Thorne. They broke off their engagment when Ally (Thorne's Daughter) was told by Hope (Brooke's spawn) that Taylor killed Darla. Taylor ran to Nick's arms and helped him work through his issues.

Through those issue Nick learned Jackie was a whore, a fact that Stephanie and Ridge learned and exposed. Last fall Jackie fell over a balcony and blamed Steph, in order for her not to go to jail or have charges pressed, the Forresters gave Forrester Originals to Nick. Hencer their new company.

Phoebe is falling in love with Brooke's stepson Rick who is Eric father, but because Ridge is a Marone, he is not related to Rick and thus Rick is not related to Phoebe.

Questions? LOL :) Hope that helps.

Just a little clarification on Rick and Phoebe...

Rick is the son of Brooke and Eric.

Phoebe is the daugther of Ridge and Taylor.

If Brooke and Ridge get re-re-re-married, Rick will be Ridge's stepson and Phoebe will be Brooke's stepdaughter. And as Josh pointed out, since Ridge isn't related to Eric by blood, Rick and Phoebe aren't related by blood either. What a twisted family tree, lol.

Rick and Phoebe is friggin disgusting bc thats his niece. They only found out there wasnt a blood relation a few years ago but they were both raised and brought up as Forresters and are family. This is just as sick as the Bridget/Ridge thing. Maybe B&B needs to stop axing its actors that arent Forresters bc this incest thing needs to stop. Soon we'll find out Felicia was switched at birth and she and Thorne start sleeping together

The incest angle doesn't bother me so much because Holden and Lily are one of ATWT's biggest, brightest, most cherished supercouples. And Holden is Lily's (<<adopted) uncle.

The thing that bugs me is the AGE! I don't know if it's the fact that Rick has been married, had a kid, etc. and Phoebe's barely out of her training bra...or the fact that Kyle Lowder was sexing up a much older woman (his real life wife) on DAYS.....But this whole age thing is what gets me!

True with Holden and Lily, however they were not RAISED together like family. We have seen Rick be born and grow up. Same with Phoebe! So that is what is icky. The age doesn't bother me that much though...different people, different vibes. LOL.

    • There probably would have been a good chance they knew of him, especially with his ties to Spaulding and his being involved in so much scandal (meaning there would be plenty of photos and articles around they both would have seen), but I agree the mask was silly, clearly just a TV moment.

    • I think all the suits are fit too tight, except for Jon Lindstrom's. DC lawyers/doctors are not all LA fashion elites. Yes, maybe Tomas would have a more modern cut to his suit, but an established guy like Bill wouldn't go around looking like that lonely button on his jacket was ready to explode constantly.
    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
