QUOTE(Chris B @ Feb 13 2007, 10:34 PM)
In general the show is rebounding, but I still don't know if it will last. You know how ATWT can be hot one moment and dull for the next three months. Hopefully this is the start of some good stuff and maybe they ARE listening to our complaints.

We can only hope Chris.

The storylines are still awful and destructive of characters (Gwen and Maddie not even thinking to call 911 and then covering up a death?, Adam trying to rape Gwen?, Meg becoming Craig?, Emily becoming a prostitute?, Paul with ESP?), but the airtime is more balanced (with Margo front and center) and dramatic, which is making for edge-of-the-seat watching. I agree that it was good writing to tie in Maddie's previous experience with Louis, to what was going on with Adam and Gwen. I'm cautiously optimistic.

As for Austin Peck, he can be good some days and bad on others. I usually respect him more when he is fully clothed, but even with that, he was not so good today.

Kim did mention that she and Bob wanted to go to the police station. She said she was headed to the hospital to meet Bob and then go to the station. I can understand that Bob might have had to be at the hospital since doctors are often needed in emergencies. He did try to tell Meg that he needed to go see Tom and Margo. So that all worked for me.

I don't think Nancy has been on this week either, although she was on last week, so it's not quite true that all the vets have been on this week except for Barbara. Still, it's been a good week for balanced airtime.

I love seeing Tom. He and Margo should be the center of the show. What will it do to them when they find out about Adam (his crime, and his death)?

We definitely need to see more Kim. She's one of my top 3 characters on the show.

Yeah, the storylines themselves aren't that great. Most of them are enjoyable; however, I can't help but think of all the characters that are being ruined by these storylines. Paul's now a complete moron, Emily's proven the impossible and has become an even bigger slut (and not in the liberating sort of way), Adam is evil, Craig is a one-note villain, Meg is just a sap, and Katie is...well, I can't even go there b/c she was destroyed ages ago.

    • There probably would have been a good chance they knew of him, especially with his ties to Spaulding and his being involved in so much scandal (meaning there would be plenty of photos and articles around they both would have seen), but I agree the mask was silly, clearly just a TV moment.

    • I think all the suits are fit too tight, except for Jon Lindstrom's. DC lawyers/doctors are not all LA fashion elites. Yes, maybe Tomas would have a more modern cut to his suit, but an established guy like Bill wouldn't go around looking like that lonely button on his jacket was ready to explode constantly.
    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.
    • RIP Wayne Lewis.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
