At least the writers addressing Claire's past illness adds a realistic touch to the on-the-run story.

The Billie/Sami scenes were really good but I wish wardrobe would ease up on these low cut tops for Sami. We know AS has nice cleavage, we don't need to be reminded of it every other day!

Good episode.

It was great how EJ saved the presentation, but what happens when said CGI doesn't exist? :P

I want to see Billie and EJ fall into bed. Yes, Billie always falls for the wrong guys, but at least this one isn't married. She's not in a place as a character right now where falling for the right guy would make sense. She needs one more fall, I think.

I love how Billie covered for Sami's "illness". The look between Kate and Billie at the end was great; they knew they both knew what Sami was really going through, and they didn't have to say a word.

Shawn and Belle were good today. I don't know that I expect the Claire sickness to last. Maybe it's just me. The previews have me excited.

EJ is absolutely delicious. Both in his scenes today, and in Steve's memory. This was definitely as recent as just before he returned. I definitely see a history in my head of Lawrence and Carly having a happy marriage and Dirty Larry needing to get rid of this dark secret of his, selling Steve to Stefano. So, Steve's locked up for a while, while Stefano deals with other projects. When he leaves Salem, he finds Elvis, offs Susan, and starts Elvis' training. Probably finds Benjy, too. When Elvis is ready, he probably uses Benjy to make Steve more susceptible at first. It's so twisted. And it's all in my head, but it's what I see. :P

Steve at the end... oh God. I hate that man, sometimes. I really do!

Definitely agree. I handled it similar in my blog where I had Steve passed on to Stefano because Lawrence needed to get rid of him or risk Carly learning the truth. The Steve/EJ stuff has to be recent and everything else you mentioned sounds logical too. I think that is the best way to go about it. Maybe they will throw more happenings in there to enhance the story, which is ok by me, but what you mentioned would be fair enough.

The timeline is sooooooooo sketchy for me.

I watch everyday and from what I gather Steve had been working at the hospice for a few years (5 or so)... yet in the flashback EJ looks EXACTLY the same as he does now.

Small detail, but it bugs the heck outta me.

    • Roger's return storyline may have been silly but Roger's return was what lead to GL's last golden era.  It was the combination of Roger's return and Robert Calhoun becoming EP that got GL to finally hit it's stride after some really bad years. It will always disappoint me that the ratings during Robert Calhoun's run didn't reflect the quality of the show.
    • He also gave some of the best episodes, like the episodes surrounding Doug's death. The problem with Days was that Ron had a horrible vision from he top. I don't feel the same for MVJ and nothing that has happened in all these months suggests she doesn't have a handle on the show. Now if it becomes an issue I'll acknowledge it, but I'm not seeing it so far.
    • Jean Hackney was awful and that lead to Ben's exit story which sucked. I liked Ben/Val together. Val's love for Ben was that of a grown woman moving on with her life and Ben's love for Val made him willingly decide to raise another man's children as his own.
    • It wasn't just a GL thing, it was an 80s thing. Opulent party scenes on soaps were very big back then. Even in regular episodes where people are just going to dinner they're dressed up like they're going to see royalty.
    • Just started the May 27 episode and first thing I see is that Willow got an ugly haircut since hte last time i watched   I dont have the context for how everthing went down but I know its all Lulu's fault which make her a bish for what she did to Gio
    • I'm pretty sure he was. But point taken. GL really had a thing for masked and costumed balls/parties in the '80's. Everyone looks fabulous, but those poor costume designers.
    • Still here ^^ Come on Prime Video, it's due to bring it back!
    • Got through the eighth season, and it was... painful.

    • I agree 100% with both you and Mitch64.  Soaps have been going further and further off-course since 1981. TPTB just don't have a fundamental understanding of what makes soap fans so loyal. I'd love to be on a writing team with both of you.  Maybe we could put together a real soap opera, and show people what its all about...
    • They weren't in town, but Fletcher worked at the paper (and we saw anniversary Journal headlines for the 50th, although I don't remember if Roger was one of them), and I'd think Alex would have at least heard of him due to the damage he did to Spaulding only a few years before her return to the fold. I know I have to remember it's not real life, of course.
