(New York UP) You think you've got troubles? "'Well, take a look at the Malones. They've got troubles! Young Dr. David Malone is in love with a pretty girl, from the wrong, side of the tracks. His parents, Dr. Jerry Malone and Tracey Malone, are trying to make him see that she would be Impossible as a doctor's wife. But' the senior Malones have been preoccupied with other matters. Tracey's father, for instance. He's Emory Bannister, the millionaire. His second wife, Clare, accused him of trying to murder her but actually her scheme to kill him backfired. He's suing for divorce because he found out she married him for his money and is really in love with Lionel Steele, Emory's business associate, with whom she's had an affair. Tracey's sister, Faye Bannister, failed to wipe herself out in a suicide attempt but is grieviously injured. Her recovery Is poor because she knows that her Illegitimate daughter, Lisha, hates her. To make matter s worse, Lisha has run off with Lionel, who was her foster father but is now a widower. He is the same Lionel who was chummy with Clare. It would seem the trials and tribulations of the Malones would melt the stoniest heart; that all the villagers would come offering sympathy and warm apple pie, and that the social agencies would be clamoring at the door. But the Malones are inhabitants of Sudsville, U, S A.. where trouble comes by the ton and happiness is a thing called delirium.
