I love how the writers are slowly developing Shawn and Belle as a romatic couple. They had some really nice moments today that were classic Days romance moments. Like when Shawn said he would do anything for the people that he.....then he paused and said something else. I love moments like that. Couples need to be brought along slowly so that the audience can't wait for that kiss or that special moment. I think Days has the potential for 3 strong new couples in Shawn/Belle, Max and Abby, and Nick and Chelsea. I know Shawn/Belle are not really new, but it seems that way with a new writer and 2 new people portraying them. I really liked today's show. Great to see Nick and Chelsea getting involved in this storyline also. I think that this story is one of the best we have had on Days in a long time.

I really enjoyed todays show.

Chelsea is finally going to bond with her family, yeah! RO-Man, has he always been so annoying? Loved how the Michigan police described the wild man.

Loving Shawn and Belle taking things slow. Poor Claire, she was just a bundle of pink today. :P

Thank goodness Nick has brains other wise who knows what someone would have said when they picked up the phone.

I missed the commercial. I heard the name EJ twice, but saw it was a cherrios commercial and paid no attention. Hope they air it tomorrow.

And another favorite sibling super couple - Bo and Kayla! There was a really cute moment when the payphone was ringing and Kayla has her hand on Bo's arm - showing support and helping restrain him from running to the phone. Also liked seeing Bo defend Kayla to Roman and ask whether he is saying Kayla is lying.

"Reaching for seconds." The funny thing about that line is Steve Johnson said the exact same line a somewhat similar situation almost 20 years ago. Hard to believe it is purely a coincidence. So are the writers being extremely detail oriented with history or is Stephen Nichols tweaking his scripts? LOL

The slow build for Belle and Shawn is good. On the run provides great opportunities for sexual tension. I think Claire will be taking a lot of naps. Also, rather than the log in a blanket. Isn't there anyway they could have had one of the twins sleeping and filmed it ahead of time. Given their age, they are probably still taking at least one long nap during the day.

Chelsea kind of charmed me today - go figure.

Roman - it was kind of painful how he did not seem to fit in with the ease and comfort that we see with Kayla and Bo, Bo and Steve, etc. Intentional or is it that Josh Taylor doesn't have the mutual rapport and comfort like they might otherwise have with each other?

I watched the episode again after coming here and reading about the Cheerios commercial. I don't really pay attention to commercials. That's hilarious!

A couple of things to add:

Shawn and Belle do have a very different relationship right now. Even though they ran off for the sake of their daughter, I'm very surprised that they haven't talked about the future. It has been unspoken, but considering there on the run together, the plan is to spend their lives together. I'm hoping to see more development in their relationship soon.

I'm loving Chelsea and Nick! I would actually like to see him be honest with her about Lonely Splicer, and hopefully she would forgive him in time knowing his reasoning. The truth is bound to come out, and I imagine it will happen just as things are going very well for both of them.

Lastly, why do the put those hideous flower headbands on Claire everyday, like in the pic below?

Another think to add:

I read some discussions above about Roman and how he was being unfair. Agreeing not to arrest or at the very least not question Bonnie and Conner, was surprisng and very wrong!

As far as the kidnapping situation, Roman played it very well, IMO. He questioned Steve, Kayla and Bo, leaving them with a warning that he is aware that they are likely disclosing less information that they have knowledge of. I think Roman had enough evidence to further investigate those three individuals. I'm sure he could've done something like fingerprints on the stolen truck. By agreeing to drop the matter unless futher evidence appears, Roman is helping the Brady family.

In both matters, Roman is doing his job and being leniant to his family and friends.

I like that Shawn and Belle are taking things slow. For them to have sex while they're on the run is stupid and cliched. By having them focus on Claire and making a family for her instead of sleeping together, it shows some maturity. I loved Shawn and Belle stroking each others' faces, then Shawn taking her hand and kissing it. It was very sweet without being sappy. DAYS is doing right by not instantly throwing couples together (except for Max and Mimi) and building up their stories and relationships.

I definitely like the slow development. However, with a couple like Belle and Shawn, it seems a little weird because they never use to be that way. But, I guess that goes to show they've grown up.

I'm glad you brought up Mimi and Max though, Bree. Theres definitely no slow development in that relationship though, lol! I felt so awful for Abby though. I imagine if Mimi had not stepped into the picture, she would've had her chance with Max.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
    • Agreed. The Emmys next year are gonna be a pretty tough competition and I hope we get a Days sweep lol  Not only does Deidre deserve a nomination for these last few weeks, but I also think Paul Telfer, Raven Bowens, Carson Boatman, Dan Feuerriegel and Alison Sweeney have good chances as well.
    • It’s not about a lack of faith and trust in MVJ, it’s about a a lack of faith and trust in Ron Carlivati, who I think can be very sneaky and manipulative when he wants to be.  And, all that “He’s just a breakdown writer” talk never changed my mind about anything, because at Days, it was “just a breakdown writer” that gave us some of the worst episodes I’ve ever seen.
