I don't want this to turn into another heated debate, but since the eviction of the ringleader, the Indian actress is getting along with the other two that ganged up on her, and she says she didn't feel any racism towards her.

I also hear that people in India have taken to the streets to protest as well.

The ex-houseguest has apologized for her remarks. It looks to be more a case of bullying by a very bitter and jealous woman than out and out racism though.

Shannon(and Chilltown in general) was very love-to-hate.

I was just shocked, more than anything, at all the crazy ass motherf*&kers they let in the house after first season's "sugary sweet Bible Network" version(with the exception of Josh getting drunk, pulling down his tight boxer briefs shaking that magnificent, closet-case ass of his). It was like a trainwreck.

BIG BROTHER jumped the shark after Season 3. BIGTIME.

And another thing...they don't let people fly planes around the compound anymore. That was part of the fun...in that these civilians who were obsessed with these labrats would spend the money to fly spoilers across the sky. Will NEVER forget how Hardy found out Shannon used his toothbrush to scrub the toilet. LOL.

Oh, and remember when the Season I people thought they would be just as popular as the SURVIVOR contestants? HA! LMAO!

What I hated most about Chilltown (aside from Shannon scrubbing the toilet with Hardy's toothbrush) was watching Will and Shannon have sex under the covers knowing full well that Shannon had a fiance back home! And then when he was alone, Will looked right into the camera and said something like, "Haha, I just screwed your girl." What a dick!

Are you SERIOUS?! Didn't even knoiw they fucked, but now that I remember, it doesn't surprise me.

Remember when Boogie proposed to Krista on BIG BROTHER?! LOL. What-ev.

Im watching that sh-t and those 3 b-tches are disgusting. They are truly the mean girls. The only one that US individuals would probably recognize is Jo from S Club 7. I'll try to make a clip. I felt so bad for Shilpa

Edited to add here is a clip of the big blow up the other day. You can see even more clips of the bullying on the related videos on the right

I've been watching it since it started and it's crazy how much attention it's had over here. The Prime Minister was even forced to speak about it in parliament.

Essentially, everything Jade said came from ignorance and jealousy. I don't think she has any kind of pathological hatred for Indians, she's just a nasty, stupid girl. And as for that [!@#$%^&*] Danielle...she so reminds me of someone I used to know even down to the accent. A complete [!@#$%^&*]-stirrer.

I'm not condoning the bullying but the show's terribly boring now it's all died down. ;)

Big Brother started in The Netherlands in 1999 and if I compare that series with the ones I'm seeing now it's unbelievable how much things have changed. In the first ever series of BB nothing exciting happened it was just a group of people trying to get along and make the best of a weird situation.I loathed the programm but compared to today's trashy versions of BB the very first one was high qualitive television.

there was also quite a bit of bullying in last season's edition. Remember how Grace, Lisa and Nikki bullied Suzie. They stole her alcohol, mocked her by dressing up in gold and then doing tribal dances right in front of her and of course there was the infamous scene of Grace throwing her drink in Suzie's face. That house was so [!@#$%^&*]y and all the women were terrible

    • oh, definitely! It's too bad she hit the start of a rough transition period for the show. She shines, but she's stuck with bad story and some (if not exactly bad) not great co-stars.
    • Thanks. I'm glad we have some fan memories of these years as this is such a typically snide take on the genre. It's also poorly written and reminds me a great deal of the tedious "snark" recaps that became popular in the '90s. The end in particular. The 1979/80 stuff I have seen is much more polished than a number of soaps at the time. It was very easy to watch and not too bogged down in past story.  Margo is played by Ann Williams, who was on what seemed like every soap. I think she said Margo was her favorite role.  These episodes aren't consecutive, but if you ever have time, they are worth a watch. They are bits and pieces from January and April of 1979 - April in and out of prison, her past calling to her via her psychic powers (and the suicide of Miles' wife Denise, who had murder framing in mind). April 1979 has the end of Winter Austen (such a fantastic soap name).  I don't want to drop a ton of links but you can find playlists on Youtube.
    • And the rating 'wars' continue...hehe.
    • Well, it was fun while it lasted for Rebecca Herbst. Le sigh.
    • I am wholeheartedly enjoying this show. I just haven't been able to post as much as I used to. But yes, this episode needs to be submitted for the EMMYs and there needs to be wins. I better NOT see Y&R, DAYS, or B&B winning in categories over BTG. I feel like the only show that is giving BTG an ounce of competition this season is GH.
    • I never thought the day would come, but too much MM for me.
    • I think it may be that the character was brought in for a specific purpose and then became popular with viewers, and the show didn't know how to respond.  The choice to pivot away from Simon/India may show that you are right and they didn't care for her...although pairing them up may be another sign they didn't care for her. I don't connect well with this period but it does make me happy seeing some of these characters before the great purge and some of the surprises - I'd forgotten the wonderful Maureen O'Sullivan popped up to be bumped off. So typical of soaps by this point, but it doesn't grate as much as later on when Y&R would bring on any random cast member from Small Wonder. I'm also amazed at this time at just how much money the show must have had. The costumes for the Founder's celebration in summer 1984, or whatever it was, looked gorgeous.
    • Which officially started to feel that way today with them hearing each other out as they confronted each other at the same time.    Same. He was even catching himself when he was about to go overboard or do those tics that people don't seem to like. He failed a bit at the end, but he carried. It makes me think about a month back when it was discussed that the actor was better in other things he's been in. And I questioned then if that meant that he was playing Martin more intentionally. I questioned that briefly again today because he was giving.
