I love Halloween and what I've heard about this sounds awful.

Rob Zombie may love horror movies and cast a lot of horror movie veterans but he can't write or direct. House of 1000 Corpses was unwatchable and The Devil's Rejects was better but still awfully written.

All he knows how to write is "'70s redneck horror," ripoffs of better movies like The Hills Have Eyes, Last House On The Left and the original Texas Chainsaw. He thinks that's the only way to do realism and his script for the remake, with all the trailer trash families, explanations, talking Michael Myers, etc. sounds like absolute crap to me. Way to destroy a series. Just because you like horror movies doesn't mean you can be trusted with them.

If John Carpenter gave his blessing to Rob, and if Halloween is Rob's all time favorite movie, I highly doubt that the series will be disrespected. The script that was reviewed was an early draft, and the "talking" Michael really boils down to him muttering one word at a crucial point in the movie for maximum effect, as per Rob himself. I have faith in the man. He adores the movie and everything about it, and I believe he will give it the respect it deserves. Besides, if JC himself told Rob to "go for it" after hearing an outline, Rob must be doing something right.

John Carpenter "gives his blessings" to every remake of his films even when he thinks it'll be crap, like he did with "The Fog." He would come on set, curse and smoke, and the magazines reported it as him blessing the film. He has said he doesn't care what people do with his properties as long as he gets paid, and that he is a pure capitalist.

Rob Zombie likes horror, says he loves horror, casts a lot of horror actors but he doesn't understand what makes them scary as far as I'm concerned. He also said in a MTV interview that conveniently doesn't get quoted much that he doesn't like a lot about the original film, like the focus on characters other than Michael Myers and the lack of explanation behind the character. That is the whole point of the character!

Also, that was nearly a shooting script, not an early draft. When every character in it is being cast it's happening.

I am waiting to see MM and TM as Michael do battle with one another. That was the real stroke of great casting there, to and McDowell's name to the list. He brings the very same thing Donald Pleasence brought when he joined the original.

But, the good part is, is that both storylines from the previous Halloween series is now done. I really think they decided to go into the direction they did because 1. H:R was so God-awful, 2. They had two directions they could have went into, neither f which was feasible, and 3. Now you don't have to beg anyone to come back and do another Halloween. Jamie Lee has probably asked about being in this one, but RZ could have said that he has no place for her right now. And......to add Danielle Harris.......great casting as well. I really dig her, not to mention that she can act and is a full-grown hottie right now. That sticks it to the asswipe who didn't want to use her in H6.

But......I was also wondering, seeing H: 25 Years Of terror, what happened to allow her to do this film, with what she's going through?

I think it will depend on what happens after the motion picture comes out. They have caught these people, and that's why she decided to do another Halloween.

It's just amazing the amount of nutcases out there right now. To stalk a young girl? What is that?!

You know, we look at these movies, and some of us just can't seperate reality and fantasy.

    • Lol, I enjoy classical music and I really think Gio is a talented musician.  I just don't know if it's the soundstage they are filming it on or what, but it sounds so screechy on TV.  I don't recall all his performances sounding like that. Rocco-"this was all my fault not Gio's or even Danny's.  No one made me drink.  I am being accountable". Dante-"Nope still 100% GIO's FAULT!!!" Just shut it Dante! Alexis and Lucky deserve more than having to protect Kristina's crazy butt. I like Cody and Lulu teaming up.  Finally someone is agreeing with Lulu.
    • After watching the performances tonight I can't understand why Finland and Malta are seen as some of the favourites. Finland's song is not one of the best this year and I maintain that Miriana Conte who represents Malta is a poor singer. My guess is that it's because of the controversial nature of both these songs. I'm not all that impressed with Austria either. But France on the other hand emerged as a big contender tonight. A beautiful song, a wonderful singer and fantastic staging. Greece also had a spectacular stage show which definitely enhanced their chances. I guess it's part nostalgia factor but I really want Luxembourg to go through to the final as well. I love the homage to France Gall and Laura Thorn sold the song very well. Much better than in the clip from the national final.
    • The older Ted was more unlikeable. The character came across warmer and mo sympathetic today whereas the older one portrayed him with a dark side. Thats why I said his scenes with Leslie will tell alot bc thats where he comes across the most like a villain and had me feeling bad for her at times
    • I completely agree @Soaplovers with your excellent comment.  And the bold, confident Stephanie we saw in her previous incarnations would be a much better match for Alex than the one trying to play house too soon. Let’s not forget: Alex came on the scene as a walking red flag with a gym membership—dodging commitment in love and work. And now he’s out here giving career advice? From a man whose last job was playing a soap star no one in Salem has even heard of? Sir. What I’d love is for Stephanie to be a genuine challenge for him—not someone who bends to his charm, but someone who knows she’s the prize. She’s a free agent in Salem: no ex-husband drama, no kid in tow, no awkward family entanglements. Let her be more like Kayla now—centered, respected, and not here for games—than Kayla was when she was falling off motorcycles with Steve. The next great Salem love story shouldn't be about chemistry alone. It should be earned—like Patch and Kayla, Shane and Kim, or even Bo and Hope on their best days. Give us slow burn, mutual respect, and a Stephanie who makes him level up.
    • It's looking like I may be in the minority, but nuTed is a major improvement to me. I agree, it will take a few days to get used to the higher pitched voice and smaller stature, but his acting is so much better. I can feel the emotions in his voice and face and it just feels more real and natural.  Kat was great today too, giving us the tears and her softer side. Loved Leslie/Bill - we need more of this!  Did y'all notice Leslie's snake necklace?? So creepy, but fitting for her haha. Tomorrow should be an updated intro with Keith, unless they repeat the second one for days until they get it updated.

He was really sweet and dorky though, and I enjoyed the violin lol. And he looked good too  I'm speculating that the big reveal will happen at Gio's birthday party. It's definitely time. But yeah, he really should've gotten advice and encouragement from someone, from anyone other than Sonny though. And while I understand where Dante is coming from, he was a little annoying today again. They really needed to establish this tension and anger a lot sooner than now, or not do it at all. Plus, this had already been done with Mac/Cody, Nina/Willow, etc., and honestly, it doesn't seem necessary here.  As for Lucky and Liz, as much as I like angsty couples, I'm still concerned about what Frank may (or may try to) do with them. The biggest reason why Lucky is like a 'cowboy' is because this friggin guy spent the better part of a decade basically erasing him from existence.
    • True, lol. IIRC, Rita Moreno said in an interview that part of the problem was that Susan Harris was ill during the week they taped that episode and therefore was unable to make needed script changes.  I wonder what might have happened had they been able to delay the taping until she felt well enough to work more on the script.  I feel like "Nest" might've sold with Moreno and Paul Dooley (although the patient with DID would've needed to be eighty-sixed regardless, lol).
    • What is the most recent episode in which Maurice Johnson's Ted wore a turtleneck?
