John and Marlena spoilers from SOD

Carrie and Roman decide to check on Marlena in NJ, she never made it. Local cops find blood in her hotel room. Roman asks John to investigate and he takes the next plane out.

Why do this? HS did, Reilly started it and it was easier for HS. For HS, its one of the gloved hand's tricks but more. By sending John for her, it gives Marlena a chance for an ephany which is 'I've been a victim too lone and here's this wonderful man who loves me and I keep trying to run away from my problems.' It reinvigorates the J&M relationship and romance which is important to stories being told this year.

Don't worry about this time off screen. You'll be seeing alot of them, more than you can believe. They are really important to other stories being told this year.

The gloved hand is a DiMera story and will involve Stefano. DiMeras are an important part of the history of ths show and EJ is going to be inheriting the mantle.

Dee doesn't mind the time off, she's enjoying her life.

Marlena won't be MIA too long, its a matter of days. Marlena needs to be grounded and then come home and be a mother to Belle, John's woman and a heroine. "This little caper will be over very quickly and we're back to Salem with John and reinvest in them. They are incredibly important. I can't stress that enough. John and Marlena will be central to everything that's going on, as will Kala and Steve, and Bo and Hope."

What I did not like was the reference that Marlena will be mother to Belle as if we haven't complained and griped and ranted enough about Marlena having Sami for a daughter as well as Will for a grandson and here is our new headwriter forgetting that, too....hopefully just for this article, though. Sami and Will need her as much as Belle and John do.

It does sound great and he did go well out of his way to assure people J&M will be featured along with the other couples, Clearly, Days is really trying to please people because Hogan is constantly assuring people, in this article as well, that the couples and J&M will be have big stories and be featured.

I like them making Marlena stronger. I think the Belle thing means that Belle will be integrated better into her parent's stories now. That will be the case with all the young characters. It makes fans care more and the stories work better. B&C did that too and it made a difference. I am sure Marlena will be a mother to all her children since we already starting getting some good motherly scenes prior to her recent disappearance.

I'm looking forward to a new J/M story, that hopefully doesn't involve her being brainwashed/terrorized/stalked by the new villian of the year. Although the gloved hand did send her out of town, I'm hoping he doesn't mess with her directly anymore.

VANISHED! DAYS' MARLENA GOES MISSING - AND IT'S JOHN TO THE RESCUE

This week on DAYS, Carrie and Roman decided to check in on Marlena - who was last seen headed to a confrence in New Jersey - and are shocked to find out that she never made it there. Commander Brady is even more disturbed to learn that the local cops found a bloodstain in Marlena's hotel room. Roman asks John to head east to investigate and the super spy is on the next flight out of town.

First things first: Why send Deidre Hall away when she already had a two month break from the show during the summer? "I didn't exactly," explains Head Writer Hogan Sheffer. "That was already the plotted in when I got here and I used it as a way to activate John and Marlena more than anything else. There was little indication where the story was going, so we just rode with it because it was easier that way. For me, it is one of the gloved hand's tricks.l But more than that, by being able to send John for her, it gave me a chance for Marlena to have this epiphany, which is, 'I've been a victim for too long and here's this wonderful man who loves me and I keep trying to run away from my problems.' It reinvigorates the relationship and the romance between Marlena and John, which is crucial to the stories that are being told this year."

In other words, don't worry, John and Marlena fans. "You tell John and Marlena fans they're going to see so much of them, they're no going to believe it," Sheffer enthuses. "They are really important to the stories that we're telling."

But there's still danger around the Blacks. After all, the gloved hand is connected to the DiMeras. "It is in fact, a DiMera story, with lots of interesting twists along the way," teases Sheffer, who adds, "Yes, it will involve Stefano."

Sheffer elaborates, "Part of what I had to do was reinvest myself in important characters and the DiMeras are a hugh part of the history of the show. I inherited the gloved hand story and it was almost meant to be - even in [former Head Writer]Jim Reilly's hand - a story that lead to some DiMera conclusion, so we're going with it. James Scott (EJ Wells) is lovely and he'll inherit that DiMera mantle at some point." As for Hall, though she had five weeks off (two of those were for the show's hiatus), she's not complaining. "My life is so bursting with fullness," she smiles. "I don't think I've ever been so happy. I am planting roses. I've been picking mulberries and making mulberry jam. I'm riding bikes with my kids. I am going for walks and runs on the beach with my neighbors. It's been my dream come true. I'm grateful for everything that is in my life and whatever comes to me, I will accept with love and gratitude."

Sheffer says this missing-in-action story won't last too long. "She'll be gone a matter or days," he says. "What I needed to do was ground Marlena, so after this one more kidnapping attempt on her - it's happened too many times and I certainly didn't choose that - Marlena will come home and be a mother to Belle and be John's woman ((calm down Wicked!!! )) and be a heroine again. This little caper will be over very quickly and we're going to get her back to Salem with John and reinvest with them. They are incredibly important. I can't stress that enough. John and Marlena will be central to everything that's going on, as will Kayla and Steve, and Bo and Hope."

I am so PSYCHED! And I'm so happy for Deidre that she's found so much happiness, she deserves it so much.
