  1. I love the clothes, Brooke looks so good, takes me back. As does the pool house which she lived in forever. The *big deal* of getting primetime Nader and Callahan on this show was completely lost on me as a child.
  2. He means it different. But Lord yes, I miss her too. Lately, I'm feenin' for 70s and 80s Erica, like, ALL of it. I want to see.
  3. I do recall the spumors back then about a sister for Sydney, Donna Mills being another name thrown around. They were also said to be looking for a "Charlton Heston/primetime soap-type" when they were casting Jared Chase. They went with Joel Fabiani, King Galen from Dynasty. I have an old GL ep on tape with Joel subbing for Michael Zaslow as Roger.

  6. Oy. Is this All My Children or Cruising?
  7. I'm pretty sure he was wearing a leather jacket and cap. I think he was reading a newspaper about the Ted/Tad thing.
  8. Michael Evans-Good Times
  9. Blue eyes, anyone? Looks like an ad for a series about aliens disguised as humans living in suburbia.
  10. Kelly Kapowski-Saved by the Bell

  12. Or hollowed out with a flask inside.
  13. That's funny, sometimes a visual aid like that really cinches it for an actor. I remember them promo'ing Watros as temp Vicky and that is highly unusual... matter fact, I'd go so far as to say that a temp replacement has never been "advertised" short of Joan Crawford. I bet Marj Dusay was fun as Vivian. Meanwhile, Lydia Bruce passed away just five days after Beverlee McKinsey for those of you who didn't know.
  14. One look at that black and white outfit and picture hat, you can't help but that Joan Collins would someday play that role. Who would you all say was the most celebrated temporary replacement? Any personal favorites? The one I've seen mentioned the most fondly over the years is Anna Stuart as Vanessa.
  15. Thanks for that interesting background information. I've read that Beverlee McKinsey suggested her Texas co-star Daniel Davis as a possible Alan placement when Bernau fell ill. They share that patrician, at times even effete, yet solid, classical acting style. It's retty well-known that Davis can be a real terror though. I wonder what he was like on the set of Texas and if Miss Beverlee ever had to put him in check.
  16. Italian dub of Sloane and Trey's wedding:
  17. I of course know who he is and I've seen clips, but I was never a true GL fan. That said, this made me tear up a little. This version of MGL is really touching, and it's especially sad considering how the New York artistic community was being hit so hard by that dreaded disease.
  18. I seem to remember Ted being dressed like he just came from a leather bar in his very first scene.
  19. That's Sam Groom who played Russ on Another World. I remember some in the soap press criticizing AW for bringing him back as a totally unrelated character of a preacher who officiated Cass and Lila's ceremony in the finale.
  20. It seemed to me that Davetta suffered from the same problem the actress playing Deanna on One Life did, which was dialogue writers putting words that didn't comfortably fit into their mouths. I think the raised by Dru/raised in Europe thing could go any number of ways, realistically. I was raised by a black mother who spoke with a black American accent and spent the greater part of my family life around her side of the family, but in school I was primarily around whites and my day to day speech is more like theirs. One thing's for sure, my sensibilities, my look on life, my soul, is ALL from my mom, and accent aside, that could be seen as the greater issue VR had with how Lily was being written and portrayed.
  21. I remember discussing Denise's special billing some years back, maybe on WoST. Some of the older fans explained that she was a VERY big deal on NBC back in the day so it was deserved, i.e., Rosemary Prinz in the first year of AMC.
