Streaming services are known for quality content this isn't it.

This simple statement got a genuine LOL out of me.

Bless that person’s heart for uploading. I call that The Golden Girls treatment. Anyone who ever watched full episodes uploaded on YouTube knows what I mean.

I agree with others, I won’t enter a thread until I’m either caught up or I just don’t care about being spoiled. Good on you guys who are up and watching at 6am, lol, I’m not waking up before work until I absolutely have to. Speaking of 6am, this absolutely takes me back to the Prospect Park days when folx were sacrificing sleep just so they could say they saw the episode first. PRESSED.

    LOL ALL of B&B!!! rotf

I am also cracking up at the multiple posts citing the entire cast of B&B.

For me, it’s mostly Liam, who doesn’t even bother me as much as he used to. He isn’t helped by SC’s Van Wilder meets Chandler Bing acting choices. To me, that’s what really makes him annoying/insufferable, not even his character flaws.

What annoys me the most about characters on B&B (Ridge, Brooke, and Steffy are probably the most guilty) is the holier than thou hypocrisy and the utter lack of respect when speaking to people about their close relatives. That is just so foreign from the way I was raised, I could not imagine saying such things about a person’s parent to their face without being fully prepared to receive a punch or a slap.

Zende is a total cornball but I can put up with him. Zoe, I could not STAND. The actress is 180 degrees more likeable on Fantasy Island.

On DOOL, hands down, Alex. I don’t know whose idea it was to have him always chewing, slurping, biting down on everything from nuts and ice cream to his glasses and his own fingers, but he drives me up the wall.

Leo is annoying but that’s thanks to his lame dialogue which is not (in my best Victoria Lord) a’tall clever or cute. And I wanna know who on the writing staff has a crush (or worse) on GR, because when Gwen was describing his “perfect bubble ass” I did a Bea Arthur slow burn towards the imaginary camera.

SH’s Kristen, I’m just sick of the tiresome Teflon treatment. Either send her away for a good long while, or ease up on her always committing some unforgivable crime.

  3. What a joke. How old is the person who crafted this "list"?

I tend to look at this subject through a theatre lens. So many great roles have been played by a number of actors, all bringing something different to each part. Sure, we have our favorites, and some are the overwhelming favorites, but there's room for interpretation.

I adore Susan Lucci and it's easy to say that Erica could NEVER be played by another actress, and quite frankly, that's easy to say because that never happened. Look at the sister role of Rachel and how two strong actresses did marvelously in the part.

Brooke would know about stealing husband's, there isn't a husband she hasn't stolen, the list is far too long

How long was this after the last actress playing Katie departed? Just curious because soaps oftentimes won’t announce a recast when months  have passed. With the Genoa City crossovers, I’m wondering if they felt the need to make it clear that this was not Victoria.

I just love the theme music and closing. Always been one of my favorites.

The earliest I recall it being the theme is November 1989. I never cared for Hold On To Love. A mistake by Calhoun to switch it and have those awful still shot pictures as its closing.

One of my favorites too. I’m glad that they went back to this legato like the original. I did not care for the uptempo versions.

@Spoon mentioned the long closing credits with pictures of the cast in alphabetical order. I enjoyed those as well, now more than ever, because we’ll never see the likes of such closing credits on network television again. Squished and sped through these days, there really should be a union rule against this. My friend used to insist that we sit through the entire credits when we’d go to the movies and then one night she said, “With IMDb, I don’t need to anymore”, and that was that. Besides greed for more ads and previews for the 11 o’clock news, maybe the general consensus is that credit information can be readily found online.

Are there any fan dubs of the original My Guiding Light over the Hold Onto Love opening titles? That might be pretty.

Was this Elaine Princi’s last episode as Dorian?

Hearing Streisand sing Phantom during that Cassie and Andrew montage, my how times have changed on soaps.

This was a little before I really got into the show and it’s interesting looking back at these characters, a significant number of them would be recast, heading into some of the show’s biggest storylines.

@DRW50 probably has it, but I remember my mom getting her SOD in the mail around this time and there was an Elaine Princi interview re: her firing and Robin’s return. I would love to read it, just sort of skimmed it at the time.

Speaking of Dorian, Miss Erika was kind enough to answer my question in her latest fan club interview found at erikaslezak.com. As the relationship between Viki and Dorian is my all-time favorite, I hoped she’d share with us some of her memories working with the various actresses in the role. Shoutout to her fan club president, Mr. Walter Miller.

Also, what is up with Alex Kiriakis and the noises he makes with plastic spoons/straws?

I am patently annoyed by the straweography. I watched the dude chew nuts for half a second and was ready to toss the rose gold iPad across the room. I am just not an RSW person. Maybe just when he’s acting because I didn’t mind him so much when they did that regional slang bts video. I think he’s a perfect example of an actor who would blossom exponentially with good formal training.

  8. I’m on episode 8, season 1. Perhaps the wrong network, but I’m thoroughly enjoying this watch. It deserved to survive. Back in the ‘90s, I got on board for the special summer series of eight episodes which comprised season 2, and as much as I enjoyed that throwback Dynasty clone, I’m seeing how the first season is superior in depth.

  9. The kid playing Thomas is adorable (those lashes) and a good little actor. His make-up scenes with Chad were touching, and very cute when he finally lost his tooth.

Sonny put his tennis shoed foot on the coffee table today and I yelled at the screen. What the hell is wrong with you, boy!? Reminds me of George Clooney’s guest spot on The Golden Girls when he has his shoes ON THE BED.

If this show has such a hard-on for RSW and just can’t quit him, I’m seriously considering that giving him a totally new character may be for the best. I would much rather tolerate him playing some trying too hard playboy than the ham fisted writing forcing the reformed necktie killer down our throats. (“If Dr. Marlena Evans says he’s a good man, then he must be.”)

  10. This makes me ache. I was already looking forward to her triumphant interview of redemption on the other side of this. Anne has suffered so much from a very early age and it’s heartbreaking and infuriating to see how the effects of childhood abuse can be utterly inescapable. I wish Anne and her family and friends, as well as the victims of the accident, peace and healing. This is rough.
