I agree 1000%.  I want to passively interact with TV. I don't need another job as a VP of scheduling and development.

ITA with you and @ironlion but I understand how times have changed just as my own life and viewing habits have changed. As someone who used to be home all day when AMC and OLTL were still around (posting daily at SON), who is now someone who often works six days a week, twelve hour days at that, I have found comfort in creating my own viewing routine out of necessity. I’ve been watching DOOL on Peacock and B&B on Paramount for months now, typically late at night as I eat dinner and get ready for bed. Add Judy Justice on FreeTV to the list. I’m watching DOOL live as I type this because I’m off on Mondays and too tired to run errands lol. But I do feel for people who can’t work streaming platforms into their budgets and will be missing their story airing 5x/week at 1pm. Not to sound selfish at all, but programs airing during daytime hours are simply no longer of use to me unless I can watch them elsewhere at night or on the weekends. I could invest in an expensive DVR package, but I know good and well shows would just pile up unwatched when I find it so simple to watch on my iPad that I can tote into the bathroom when I’m showering or shaving. It sucks to have to pay, but at least there is the option. This is much better than cancellation which would put so many people out of work.

One of a kind. I adored her as the grandmother in Garfield.

I loved her as Katrina Stoneheart in Pound Puppies! I also appreciated her presence in that very different final season of Too Close for Comfort.

She was a shining star here in D.C.’s theatre scene, notably for her collaborations with Michael Kahn at Shakespeare Theatre Company. I’ve been reading some lovely tributes on Facebook from actors she worked with back in the day.

  3. Erica had a series of portraits. The first was a Lempicka inspired painting that hung above the stairs at Linden in its original grey and black color scheme. When the set was painted softer shades of mauve, that painting would later be replaced with one Jeremy painted. Erica made several moves, and that painting would turn up years later in Erica’s office at Enchantment. When Erica moved into her childhood dream home, David gave her a life size portrait to hang over the mantle. It was a photo of Susan in her Erica Kane doll dress as seen in this commercial:

Ok i give up, what was the story on This One?

Thank You, But I had already comfirmed my doubt, i shared a photo of a Magazine Page with Nancy Pinkerton as Dorian by the side of The Portrait, totally different from Robin's Version, and According To @vetsoapfan Claire Malis version was Basically The Same as Nancy's with Just Her Face on It, So I wonder How Robin got her portrait to be so different

The portrait of Robin’s Dorian is intended to be a different portrait from the Nancy/Claire one commissioned by Victor. It replaced the portrait of his late wife, Eugenia, in the Llanfair library. Cassie had the Robin portrait commissioned as a gift to her mother after Dorian bought Marty’s house out from under her and had it renovated.

  5. How is Lucas Abigail's uncle?

For me, my relationship with my sibling would take priority over my relationship with my spouse, so I always find it odd when Julie refers to Ciarra as her granddaughter. Did Julie take on a maternal role in Hope's life? I thought their relationship was actually pretty acrimonious back in the day? I would be very weirded out/damn livid if my sibling married my parent. How did this all play out back in the day and were there scenes where these characters "decided upon" the parameters of their positions as relatives to make it easier to understand for the children?

Just an anecdote out of her memoir, her name was Caty McClain & there was someone else with that same name, so she changed hers to Cady for work purposes.

For me, it was years of seeing her name in print before ever hearing it spoken and I pronounced it “Caddie” in my head.

She also is using weird voices/accents

That threw me too. I rewound to make sure I wasn’t imagining things.

Maybe if the show hadn't rushed through everything, Cady would have had more time to stretch her acting chops a little bit.

I wouldn’t be surprised by this. “Cady, Days wants you back… tomorrow. Courier is bringing you scripts tonight.”

  7. I am sad to see Tripp go. Maybe sadder that I’m happy for a fictional character to be getting out of this mess.

Add my voice to the choir, killing off Abby is a short-sighted move and DOOL has played itself because death means nothing to its audience as it means nothing to the show itself. As an empathetic person, I may have a moment of emotional reaction watching a fellow human being mourn. But this show will never, ever touch the dramatic heights of Laura Cudahy, BJ Jones, Megan Gordon…

Could Someone please Crown My Happiness by telling Me where i could find AMC Episodes with Maeve McGuire on Them??? I had the privelege of finding episodes of ATWT, EON, OLTL with Her, now it would be amazing to watch AMC episodes with her and since her character was the mother of a Gay Teen this is just the Right Time!

Search for Kevin Sheffield videos and you may luck out.

    Watching 87-88 season

Was it ever explained what happened to Jeff's mom? Jeff is acting like nothing happened. She was near death in The Colbys series finale.

Alexis does mention Jason leaving Sable for Frankie but that's the extent of it. I assumed they got their happily ever after.

Was there ever any information on why Morgan Fairchild was signed to only a one year contract as Sydney Chase? If I understood correctly Jane Elliot was an EP at CITY first year. Did she ever have any other experience in production? What was the point of marrying Tracy Q to a member of the Soleito family?

JE had been a producer on Loving years earlier, I don't recall her being involved bts on The City.

It seemed evident that MF wasn't happy with how The City was doing ratings wise. Michael Logan had interviewed her for TV Guide and when Morgan said she didn't know how the show was doing in the numbers, he added, "not at all convincingly."

It was sad and disconcerting to see the big star of the show abandon ship. JE had been appearing on GH leading up to her transition onto TC. I think it was a good example of making lemonade. In terms of big ABC crossovers, Tracy worked better on TC than Rae did... anywhere. (Coincidentally, my favorite Rae scene is Tracy laying into her at the hospital over her relationship with Alan and Skye's parentage.)

It's been a long time since I've watched TC, but JE is one of the best sparring partners in soaps. She and Carla were good at going at it.

Did they even feature her in the Brooke alcoholism story?

Maybe, I honestly don’t remember Brooke having scenes with her sisters. Hope and Deacon comprised her major support system.

The last time I remember the Logan sisters all assembled was when they were discussing Flo’s place in the family and welcoming her into the business.

Enuka Okuma is definitely still active as an actor.

I was happy to learn that she’s still acting. She was only in the first season of Fifteen as Kelly. Kelly and her best frenemy Brooke (my favorite character) were the OG mean girls.

Thank you @All My Shadows and @SFK for the Tubi tip on SWAN CROSSING and recent chatter in the FIFTEEN thread. :)

    Absolutely! You should definitely watch!

It’s on my list of things to get to. Saturday afternoon binging, for sure! Swans Crossing is on the Tubi streaming service, assuming it’s the whole run. I feel like that’s more of a weekday afternoon joint.

Coincidentally, SC and 15 both have 65 episode totals. SC aired 5 days/week like a traditional soap for one season, while Fifteen aired on Sunday afternoons over four seasons. I've debated if I should watch an episode of each, the same debate I've had with finally catching up on PP AMC and OLTL. I think I'll just focus and binge on one series at a time. I've also got to tackle the '80s primetime soaps that have become available before they, well, aren't.

  14. Tonight's cliffhanger did excite me if only for the flash of nostalgia. It would be fun if we got Caress as well, but I am so turned off by this version of Alexis that I don't particularly crave to see her relatives who were so excellently cast in the original.

I am sorry to see the show cancelled. Admittedly, if I'm home on a Friday night, Dateline and 20/20 are going to get my eyeballs, I always tell myself I can just binge Dynasty at a later time. I guess it'll be even easier to catch up with now.

I was was watching clips from the 1994 tornado earlier and suddenly realized that Erica was not there (and surprisingly, as much as I love her, was not missed). Then I read up on it and apparently she was in Seattle for an extended stay and didn't return until weeks after. Was Susan Lucci on vacation? Or filming something else?

There was an interesting timeline of events, and I still wonder how things all came together. Frances Heflin had passed away in June, so I assumed Susan Lucci had been given time off to grieve. The tornado aired in July. When Erica returned from Seattle in August, she discovered Mona had died in her sleep in Erica’s home, Linden House. During her time off, Susan Lucci had her infamous “nose management”. I don’t know if her surgery had been scheduled before Ms. Heflin’s passing and the timing was coincidental, or if it was something Ms. Lucci was able to quickly schedule. At any rate, she looked radiant when she returned, sporting a new profile. I don’t remember Erica saying much or anything about the tornado, but we still saw the effects of it. Tad couldn’t go to the funeral as he was still in the hospital, and a still bandaged Kendall made a scene at the wake.

One thing I’ve never agreed with Rosie about this incident is that it was set up by the producers as evidenced by the split screen. While they certainly should have gone to commercial and let things cool down, instead, salivating over the fight knowing it would make headlines, it was clear that the argument grew organically. Rosie has said that the split screen needed to be set up in advance (which she knew from the days of having her own show), but that is simply not true. We were doing split screens live in my seventh grade TV production class. They only went to split screen so the TD didn’t have to keep cutting back and forth between cameras in such a heated confrontation and risk missing something. If they were seated next to one another, it would have been a two shot.
