  1. This has made me sadder than I could have expected. Their quarantined cooking tutorials were the highlight of my IG feed, you could just feel warm waves of their love emanating from the screen. And boy did it ever make my day when Susan responded to one of my comments on Helmut’s salad making technique.

It’s been some years now, but @DRW50 posted some early ‘70s AMC articles featuring Susan and Helmut. It makes me misty just thinking about them, relatively newlyweds so obviously in love, Liza and Andreas still years away, finding their feet with no clue of the heights this life would take them. And then in those IG videos, seeing them in their huge beautiful kitchen, empty nesters, having the same kind of intimate dinners they surely had 50 years ago.

Link? Or was it from a hard copy? Direct me to something that isn't just a type out on a board.

Honey, your manners leave a lot to be desired, and I realize that you’ve got that Lily Montgomery thing going on, bless your heart wherever it may rest upon the spectrum. But when interacting with folks on this site, please be respectful and eschew catty gestures as they don’t serve you. At all. All of your attempts at being clever and controversial have failed.

From Susan Walters' (Lorna) new interview re: her return to Y&R:

Michael Lindsay-Hogg is actually Geraldine Fitzgerald’s son, but this certainly isn’t the first time these two Geraldines have been confused for one another (including in soap opera publications).

  4. @All My ShadowsI agree, the 20th and the 25th are my favorites. I can’t even bring myself to watch that scene of Bianca reading Mona’s letter. Susan brings me to tears without saying a word. And she looks so damn good!

I had taped the week of the 25th so I watched those episodes after school. I didn’t  see the 20th until the late ‘90s one Saturday afternoon at the Paley Center in NYC. Sitting in my cozy little cubby watching Erica, Mona, Joe, Ruth, and Phoebe reminisce not far from where the episode was taped was very special.

I loved the Will/Chad/Sonny scenes today. I could watch a whole episode of just them. Man, Will and Sonny both looked goooood today. ZT in that tank... HELLO! 👋

I loved Sonny saying that Chad is great looking. 😁

I know he has a lot of haters but Leo cracks me up. Can't wait to see him with Chadwick.

After Sonny and Chad hugged, there was Sonny sweat all over Chad’s lapel. It looked like a baby spit up.

My life just changed by learning DH had a soft lense focus through the 90's .

Morgan Fairchild had Chinese paper lantern lighting on The City for a soft glow.

Seeing as Ron used to love that Talk Soup/The Soup was roasting his GH and IIRC began actively writing the show into scripts and courting its attention, that's on brand.

I will never get over the Soup skit making fun of Luke's flashback episode where Tony Geary played Luke's abusive dad, with Tony Hale howling 'you're old, Luke!' and ranting about their inability to do a second take of any scene no matter what. I wish it was still available.

ETA: You're welcome. 12:08 into the video. Be sure to have AdBlock.

    Thank you! 🤣

The Renee thing COULD WORK IF they had Linsey watch Philece Sampler's Renee and bring her traits into Linsey's Renee. Linsey already did this when she was Ava playing Sarah and Gwen playing Sarah but I guess that wasnt needed for Sarah as Renee. Ughhh

To be fair, that wouldn’t really make sense as Renee is pretty much just words on a page to Sarah. It’s all in her imagination as she wouldn’t have memories of Renee to be able to emulate her mannerisms. But if LG did choose to pick up on some of PS’s idiosyncrasies, that’s her homework, not up to the BTS creatives.

  8. I am very sad to just be learning of the passing of longtime AMC costume designer, Miss Carol Luiken. She was responsible for the looks of a great many of our cherished Pine Valley memories.

When I was a freshman at Marymount Manhattan College, I was blessed to be cast in an Ionesco show. The costume designer was Carol Luiken. I fanboyed when I met her and she was so surprised saying, “NOBODY knows who I am!”

    I did!

She bought me a vintage olive wool suit and had it cut to my frame. When we had my fitting, I quipped, “Uh! I feel like Adam Chandler!” That cracked her up.

I ended up transferring to SUNY Purchase and Carol did as well. She was wardrobe supervisor for other shows I did and we’d run into one another and I’d always hold the door for her on her way out even if he she was yards away. I am so glad that I got the chance to meet her.

Yea, I think Courtney's acting lacked the "cattiness" that Bev had as Alexandra. It would be hard to imagine her doing that famous take down  of Roger at Towers.

I would think it would have been cool to see JC as Hope, George Reinholt as Alan (as suggested here), and Robin Strasser as Alex (as once rumored). A total deconstruction of their roles on AW.

Thank G-d Robin kept her promise to check in with OLTL before she accepted another role in daytime. We would have missed a lot of great material on OLTL if she had been wasted as Alex. I’m not hard on Marj as others are, but the material was certainly nowhere near what Robin got to play as Dorian at that time.

Do you know what she said?

Yeah, they did Annie Get Your Gun in Colorado when she was 18. Diane Sawyer asked Joan how Applewhite was onstage and Joan said that he was wonderful, had great energy, and you could tell that he really wanted to be there. Joan didn’t sense any struggle within him, but felt that he was isolated.

  11. A FB friend made a post about this the other day and for the sake of his privacy neglected to mention his name which I found just a little annoying. When I saw mentions of "Vincent" in the comments I put two and two together. He sounds like a stand-up guy, too many people would rather not get involved. Praying for his speedy recovery.

  12. Yeah, her real last name is Camargo (her sister, Felice Camargo subbed for her as Charlotte on GL, and their father, Ralph Camargo was also an actor). Victoria’s son Christian (né Minnick) chose Camargo for his stage name to honor their heritage.

I thought it was in reverse?

Broderick is correct. David Jacobs wanted Bobby to be even more like Brick, a flawed, tortured, fading golden boy, but he was met with resistance and Bobby became more of a Prince Charming.

  14. Well damn, that was quick. Can’t say that I ever watched for even a full minute. I don’t dislike him, but something about him in this format irks me. I think I prefer him as a presenter. I haven’t even been able to bring myself to watch his episode with Susan Lucci.

Interestingly enough @j swift , whenever his show was on, my TV read “Dr. Oz” on the menu screen.

I believe his show was produced by DebMar Mercury. Maybe they were hoping Nick would attract Wendy’s audience in her absence and now with Sherri officially onboard, they can cut their losses.

ETA: Guilty of posting before reading the article.

This SaRenee story is not JG paying homage to Renee. It is JG paying homage to himself for remembering Renee.
It is not him telling a story about a character; it is him writing a story so that we would tell the story of him knowing so much about that character and the show.
Not only it stinks as a story but it reeks of the self-satisfied self-indulgence that led to it being written in the first place and there are few worst crimes for a writer imho.

    Bingo.
