What happened to the characters of Jason Webb and Sloan Carpenter?
Sloan passed away from cancer. Jason left town after his romantic interest Beth (River's biological mother) passed away from an awful strain of flu that swept through Llanview (Viki was struck down by it as well).

I'm also sorry to see Talia go. I really did think that she'd be around for a while when she got the job at the hospital. I still haven't warmed up to Jada but having her sister around was helping. She and Rafe do nothing for me, but I don't mind their function as supporting players.
Vivian's return was all too short, will she be back anytime soon?
Like others, I didn't trust Constantin from the start. He was giving me major Buddy Rourke vibes, for those of you who get that Golden Girls reference.

That's not Blair, that's Echo.

@Beetle Bailey Esther Shapiro wanted Rock Hudson to star in Emerald Point N.A.S. (the leading role would go to Dennis Weaver). I guess booking Rock for Dynasty was some form of consolation.

This guy obsessed with Susan is awful, it's like Spice channel acting.

The DiMera mansion is somewhat of an eclectic nightmare. Whoever dressed the set needed a second pair of eyes, someone to say, "Okay, so you've got a lot of interesting ideas here, but let's streamline." I have a love-hate relationship with those scribble-scrabble modern paintings that look like someone made them out in the parking lot. Very Trading Spaces. You can almost hear the wife crying off camera in her hot mic.

I was definitely not expecting some of those stories. Thanks.
@SFK you'd love this.
This is too funny, I'm the one who sent Adam this interview!

I'll always remember Mr. Whittaker from those iconic Time Life Music commercials of my youth. He was an excellent whistler.

Scott had one & I posted it in the inert LIAMST discussion thread. Her real life husband is in it also.
Not for the first time I wish that WOST had been archived!!! It is strictly from an interview some WOSTer did at an awards ceremony with Pete Lemay that we learned that it was Fred Silverman who had that cockamamie idea! You know to take AW to a 90 minute show. 2006 I believe, audio only, up on YT.
Petition status: 469 signatures & 16 promoters https://chng.it/9s22wzb7rF
@Donna L. Bridges Brian, WoST's creator, telephone interviewed Lemay for the site. I'm assuming this is the interview you mention. It's a good interview, I only wish Lemay had been interviewed even more extensively for the Television Archive.

Please let Adam know that I am a huge fan of his account. His pop culture curation is second to none.
I sure will, he's great! He and I were having a conversation about KL's infamous sandcastle opening (he hates it, I love it as a fun experiment a long-running show like Knots is fortunate enough to try). I found myself on the beach at Magens Bay last week and I wrote out the KL logo for him in the sand, he posted it in his stories.

@danfling @Donna L. Bridges There is in fact at least one episode of Miss Beverlee in LIAMST that has been shared online. I, and many others, watched it on WoST some years ago. She was vacuuming and telling her son Billy to eat his peas, before getting a visit from her ex-husband (?) played by Albert Stratton. It's been a long time, anyone please feel free to straighten out the details.

Has the original Knots bible/treatment ever been made publicly available and posted online? I don't know if David Jacobs ever went into detail in any of his interviews, but I'm curious about the couple that became Gary and Val and what if anything of their initial concept got carried over into the Seaview Circle Ewings' storyline.

And are we completely sure that Gillian was at OLTL from episode 1? Maybe she started some episodes later…..and this could change OLTL history!!!!!!
I read that Viki's (Gillian Spencer) first scene was in the first episode, appearing on the terrace outside of the French doors of the library at the Lord mansion (the name Llanfair not being used until sometime later).

In her book, One Life, Ellen Holly gets the names mixed up and identifies the first Viki as Trish Van Devere. While I didn't know the correct name of the actress (Sharon Laughlin) when I read the book back in '96, I knew this was an innocent mistake as I was familiar with early cast lists from Robert LaGuardia's Soap World. At any rate, Miss Holly wrote that Laughlin had taped episodes and appeared in on-air promos for OLTL before the show first aired.

Not actual fan fiction. Some DAYS fans speculated as to whether they were the same character, and then some began to present that theory as fact, and many people bit onto it without really questioning it. Like FrenchFan said, it ain't true.
Things like this are particularly frustrating given the way online character profiles most likely written by fans are presented as gospel. I was reading up on Kate several months ago and somehow wrapped my brain around the evidence that both characters were one and the same but it still felt like a bit of a stretch. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't both Kates connected to Bill which added to the justification/misunderstanding?

I am weeks and weeks behind, and catching "Little Puke" brought me such joy the other day.

But since Agnes first created the Ada-like character & the Rachel-like character on TBD they were actually created first, not second as we have long thought. She did the troublemaker daughter & put upon mother 4 times - TBD, AW, AMC & LOV. (Some call the troublemaker daughter the raven-haired vixen daughter.)
I'm a little stubborn in my conviction that Sadie and Carla belong on that list. I wish we could have Agnes Nixon's opinion of that.

I'll just hold onto my fond thoughts of Erika Slezak and her encyclopedia-like knowledge of her show. If anyone had reason to "dump" memories and clear her cache, it was her.

How do Josh Duhamel and Kelly Ripa do an interview on Live! without a single mention of All My Children!?

I had read somewhere that when Capitol started revolving around the casino (Sam owned one, Wally worked there. Jordy and everyone else would go play the slots....). I wonder if there was to be some sort of a spinoff in the works that was set in a casino...any ideas?
John Conboy had developed a soap called Casino that was set in Vegas but it wasn't a spinoff and IIRC it was for ABC.

Liam gets on my damn nerves.
He walks in on Steffy and Finn kissing and reacts like he's got her bent over the desk giving backshots.
Chill tf out SC. Less is mucho.

Not sure how many have been but hoping to visit the Paley Center this year and was reviewing the availability of OLTL, does anyone know if Carla appears in the October 1968 episode available? She’s listed in the credits but not much comes of the description.
I watched this episode years ago, and IIRC, Carla is not in it. I mostly remember finally getting to see Gillian Spencer as Viki and Ernest Graves as Victor. In the episode, Meredith is missing, which is all I can recall at the moment. I'd really like to see it again the next time I'm up in New York.
