  1. That was so creepy/corny seeing Jeremy standing there as a human statue. I liked that they gave Gwyn a throwaway line about Erica Kane calling to give her condolences.
  2. I wish The City was available for streaming on Amazon or hulu. I was so excited for that show and unfortunately missed much of it. Too bad I wasn't better at remembering to set the VCR, but 10th grade was pretty hectic.
  3. Ritchie Coster (GL) starred in tonight's excellent episode of The Blacklist. He'll star in next week's episode as well, the series' first two-parter.

First of all, what are you doing up at 4:54 in the morning posting on SON? LOL. No, they did not specify how Finn died. In his opening voiceover, Kurt has a line about people focusing on how Finn died and what does that really matter instead of focusing on how he lived (obvious reference to CM). Honestly, I only tuned in to see how they handled the tribute, I haven't watched the show since. But I did see Ryan Murphy being briefly interviewed on Access Hollywood and he said he didn't know when and how, but he felt obligated to eventually address it in specifics. I thought this was the last season so I guess we'll know sooner than later.
  5. Re: Carlo's return, I thought Thom and Tonja had great chemistry and OTT Alex torn between Asa and Carlo was a hoot. The story was a bit of a dud though. I'm not a big music cues person like some fans, but the one for Poseidon/Carlo is probably my most favorite. It's just a few ominous bluesy piano chords. Another favorite, Viki's eerie "haunted music box" DID chords. Hell, OLTL had great background music at the time. The "Dorian's up to something" music was also good. Did the guy who wrote the synth Champage and Satin Sheets theme also do the incidental music?
  6. AW and GL's David Andrew MacD onald was on tonight's episode of NBC's The Blacklist.
  7. I knew that was coming. (YSWIDT?) Simmer down Nellie B.
  8. I keep seeing Adam Mayfield (ex-Scott, AMC) in a Geico commercial with a pig.
  9. Robert Montano was temp Antonio. It was reported that he was a friend of Kamar's.
  10. That's so funny, especially seeing as how dramatic Erika could be. She really tickles me when I watch those heightened emotional scenes from the '80s and she sounds like she's playing Clytemnestra for the RSC. I shot an educational video a few days ago and I felt like a talking statue: "Turn your body to face the window, now turn your head so it's in profile facing the fireplace... Don't move!" On-camera work can be so rigid and technical, you really have to have a knack for it.
  11. That's funny about Phil rolling his eyes. Susan and Marlo are friends so she's undoubtedly socialized with Phil several times. I agree about Erika, but I think it was '95 when I thought that she shouldn't have won. I thought she totally deserved it for '96 based on the stuff that was currently on the air, but I thought '95 belonged to Leslie Charleson for Monica's breast cancer s/l. Marj Dusay had the best clip though, punching out Alan.
  12. Oh wow, thanks. You'd think that after The Children's Hour, audiences could handle a little lesbian subtext by that point. But from what I understand, folks still weren't ready years later with Katherine and Devon. Of course daytime and film are different animals, but...
  13. Curious, what was controversial about Sharon DuVal?
  14. I was watching the Emmys with my grandparents the night Erika won in that red dress. I can still hear my grandmother saying, "Well I feel sorry for that Erika Slezak", because after she left the stage, Susan Lucci (who was co-hosting) returned to stage to present the next award, and the cast of AMC rose to their feet and started chanting, "LOOCH! LOOCH! LOOCH! LOOCH!" Susan got all choked up and she thanked them and added that she votes for Erika every year. So gracious. That was also the year that Julia Barr won for supporting and said to her daughter Ally at home, "Yes, Mommy won the Enemy award."
  15. HAHAHA! Dr. Carl, don't ever change. My phone only allows me to type but so much in these little boxes so I have to make multiple posts when I get long-winded. I have memories of fake Silver (Connie) being on the show when I was little. How was she introduced? Did she literally just show up at Erica's doorstep one day? Was there mention of Goldie back then? When Erica went on the run I guess and was wearing glasses, prim dresses buttoned to the top, with her hair up, my child mind thought she was "mourning" her fake sister by dressing like her.
  16. "The role of so and so will now be played by..." experience. I just remembered that Claire was introduced as Noelle, she wasn't Silver "yet". Claire now runs a theatre company in Brooklyn, she is a friend of a friend and I would love to meet her and talk about her AMC days. Watching those clips on my phone's little screen, I actually thought Damon was Adam for a split second. CK would be great opposite Strasser and Slezak on OLTL (if it ever comes back).
  17. I think this is the climax of that particular s/l on Cobbler's Island, culminating in Dr. Lazarre's death. There's a brief glimpse of Goldie (Louise Shaffer) so I'm assuming this is after she had faked her death for a bit. She fell over the side of a boat while fighting over a gun with Silver and she set up an elaborate hologram projection where she pretended to be a ghost and would haunt Silver at the top of the stairs. Crazy [!@#$%^&*]. I still don't remember how things got resolved with Goldie, if she went to jail, died "for real", went into hiding, or what. Seeing the beginning of that earlier episode with Rosalind Ingledew Allen, I'm once again reminded of how Claire Beckman was my first,
  18. I don't know why I thought that was Norcross even after seeing Trachta's name in the closing credits. I've said this before, but Wesley Addy would have made for a great Victor Lord had the character lived or in flashbacks/dream sequences, et cetera.
  19. I didn't know that B&B's original Thorne was on Loving. Nor did I know that Jane Powell was on the show and received special billing at that. I know that she temped as ATWT's Lisa years later, did she do earlier soap work? She's still living, right? Can't say that I remember JO's hair ever being that dark. I love CT's patrician voice. The whole glamorous scene reminded me of those great old AMC galas. One thing that's missing though is that *pop* that AMC parties had, and it all comes down to character. Everyone just sort of blends together here with the most notable exception being Ava. She actually reminded of Audra Lindley's Liz at Lenore and Walter's wedding on AW. Just a short prickly snippet from an agitator that adds a jolt to the episode.
  20. I did not, unfortunately. There were two bibles and I remember bits and pieces from both. The second bible more closely resembled the show that made it to air, ommiting several characters like biracial Merle and her group of female roommates from the first, and bringing the previously secondary Cleggs to the forefront.

There's a thread for The Real so I shouldn't hijack this one, but Tamera will cry at a card trick, she was steady getting verklempt on that show. I was surprised when even Loni cried. The funniest moments on that show were when they all faced their fears and Tamar refused to, so they had a dude from the zoo walk up behind her with a snake. When she turned around and saw it, she said, "Oh !@#$%^&*] no!" (they blurred her mouth) and hauled ass backstage, all you saw was the back of her blonde weave bouncing. And when the asian girl told the story about her mom walking in on her topless seeing her huge dark areolas and ran out the bathroom shouting, "PANDA EYE! PANDA EYE!"

I thought Adrienne was the most obnoxious. She was just doing too much. By the way, did you see their finale? They were ALL doing the most. Carrying on and boo-hooing like they'd been doing the show for years.

Are they on hiatus or still churning out episodes for the summer? When does Joy leave? I read on here that they were interested in Hoda Kotb. Hoda needs to stay right where she is. She and KL are a perfect pair.
  24. She has... eclectic taste. That's funny, because she was a guest judge on Project Runway years ago. People magazine voted Susan Lucci Worst Dressed in the past so she's in good company. ;-)
  25. I've had a huge crush on her for over a decade and I've also had this weird fantasy of her playing Erica in an All My Children movie spoof.
