  1. Haha! I've read some of Legends![ It's funny in a dated bitchy camp sort of way, kind of like an average episode of Filthy Rich. I'm not surprised that it didn't make it to Broadway. They're gone now, but an awesome YouTuber whose name I won't call had made these great series edits of various characters and storylines. For instance, The Dominique Deveraux Show and The Sable Colby Show, all of those characters' scenes edited together and divided into episodes. It was interesting to see how Nolan Miller created a particular look for each character and how he'd later recycle an idea for another character. In Legends!, he dressed Linda in an updated ensemble he did for Diahann on Dynasty, and another one he did for Sally Field in Soapdish.
  2. I know we've talked about it off and on for a few years now, but I don't think that's our Sylvia. Doesn't sound or look like her, particularly the headshots of her at that time which they showed on Intervention. I dunno... I agree that they'd probably had the Opal/Palmer pairing in the cards, regardless. They got good comedic mileage out of Opal/Langley in the eighties, and I can picture their vision of putting her with another stuffy, effete man, this one authentically rich and resisting HER advances. I don't know where they got this idea of Jill being a Dorothy lookalike. I doubt there was any bad blood i.e., not reaching out to her. I presume they assumed they couldn't get her/that ship had sailed, and maybe even Jill's turn as Ursula had some sort of chicken/egg involvement in her being cast and the show bringing back Opal. One should ask Jill. Dorothy made quite an impression on me and my cousin when we were little. We both referred to her as Opal when Mama's Family debuted and both Opal and Naomi (my cousin used to stretch her shirts down her shoulders like her) were the kind of vivid OTT characters you don't forget. Especially on a show like MF with those accents, wigs, costumes... Watching Jill dithering around playing Erica's sensible bff was like watching an altogether new character.
  3. Ha, that first clip I thought, "That's not a fur hat Carl, that's her hair." I hadn't watched all the clips yet. These are great, thanks for sharing. And Lisa does look stunning, love her in that silver fox coat. So I remember when Randolph Mantooth was Clay and my mother later explaining that he wasn't Clay anymore but I didn't remember him being off the show. I noticed that he wasn't in the credits but Horan was. I've never been.clear on the Clay retcon, i.e., the explanation of his appearance to his family if he was an imposter.
  4. I've wondered if Susan's very gracious and "on" on-air personality is in part overcompensation for these unsavory bits of Erica-like behavior that leak to the masses. Like her dropping f-bombs on Bloopers and Practical Jokes, or pounding the table when Robin Strasser won the Emmy. Maybe not so much these specific incidents, but just to make the divide between character and actress as clear as possible.

This is terribly morbid of me, but I can't help but wonder if there was ever a victim who never woke up.
  6. Thank you. You all know who you are. My late acting mentor, Eulalie Noble, had a role on TD. I really don't know how big or small. She's gone now and I can't ask her. If anyone knows more, please let me know. She played Ruth in Alice's Restaurant if face recognition may help. Thanks!
  7. I taped the CBS Dynasty reunion on VHS, I'll upload it to YouTube if somebody hasn't beat me to it. I would've seen Legends! in D.C. if I wasn't living in Manhattan at the time. It didn't do well enough to land a Broadway engagement. Legends! originally starred Mary Martin and Carol Channing, but that tour was also disastrous and Broadway was not in the cards. The playwright, James Kirkwood, Jr., wrote a book, Diary of a Mad Playwright, dishing the dirt on that original tour, the precursor to Joan Collins' diary of a mad actress blog in the Daily Mail. There are some clips of the Collins/Evans production on YouTube. Nolan Miller did the costumes for the Dynasty ladies.

How unfair that the stink of this scandal has rubbed off on all of the innocent people Cosby made famous on his shows. Many of them have plenty going on for them (thanks to their career launching Cosby roots), but from here on out, in every interview/article, there will always be at least one line referencing this blot. I've been wondering how Phylicia Rashad's handling this. She has a pretty healthy Broadway career. I don't know what if anything she's working on now or in the near future, but she'd probably dread doing press.
  9. Wow, you guys will have to tell me how you're getting your The Doctors fix.
  10. Cool. I haven't been able to catch The Doctors on Retro, but I assume that's a few years away from where they've started?
  11. amybrickwallace, do you have me blocked? I mentioned Legends! in my post directly above yours. Joan kept a diary of her time on the road with Linda for the Daily Mail's website. It's a hoot, check it out.
  12. Interesting. Around what year was this?
  13. No Linder? Diahann? Gosh, can you imagine the tension between Linda and Joan in the same room together? I wonder if there's no going back now after Joan's Legends! blog. If I could get a picture of myself with Joan, Diahann, and Stephanie, you couldn't tell me NOTHING.
  14. I have a few scenes of JF as Roger on tape. I hate to be mean, but I have found him boring in every role I've ever seen him play... King Galen, Jared Chase, Roger, Adam's lawyer... He shares his scenes with Sherry Stringfield's Blake after a brief exchange with Beverlee McKinsey's Alex. I'll get it up on YouTube sometime within the next four years.

I hate to say that alleged victim of sexual abuse and One Life to Live fan Roseanne faked her DID, but alleged victim of sexual abuse and One Life to Live fan Roseanne faked her DID.

    Same, and I agree.
  17. John, how the devil do you find all these? Do you put "soap temp" in the search box or something?

Thank you. An important reminder not to accept everything you see on the Internet at face value.

Oh Faizon, Dr. Cosby does NOT want your help. Good Lord, you can't make this [!@#$%^&*] up. Passionately defending a man who would take one look at your writing and lay you, your mother, and your M.I.A. father the hell out.
  20. Wow, I thought that was Ronn for a hot second. Patrick looks like he's been partying like a rock star. I can hardly believe that's the guy I remember from the Psychic Friends commercials.

Yes Cheap, John linked that a page back or so. I'm sure many of us have noticed how the kids of TCS and ADW view Cosby with such reverence which makes this all the more disturbing to me. As recently as the ADW reunion on OWN, they were praising his genius and Darryl Bell is even a producing partner. It's terrible because the man has done great things, that cannot be denied, but I don't know how one comes to terms with these increasingly valid allegations and "Well, he was always good to me."

Re: Stacey Dash, she guest starred as a friend of Denise's who fears she may have contracted an std. I suppose they may have rehearsed their scenes in private (and for a predator, where there's a will there's a way), but when it comes to the set of TCS, I doubt that he'd sh!t where he ate. Too risky. On a busy sitcom set where he's EP with people constantly buzzing and knocking for him, a bunch of kids running around... this setting isn't really conducive to his m.o. He can't exactly wine and drug a girl in his office in the middle of the day and throw his coat over her on the couch. I really don't see why she felt the need to throw her name in this for anything other than attention. And the fact that she wasn't a victim is irrelevant. A sick priest or scout leader can't molest every child with whom he makes contact.

Did Autumn Jackson ever get DNA proof that Cosby is her father? I remember watching her and her mother on Geraldo, that had to have been over twenty (gulp!) years ago. Isn't it something how these things dog a person for decades... To me, that was plenty enough scandal for Mr. Cosby, I never imagined a child born out of an extramarital affair would pale in comparison to later allegations.
