  1. ‘I’m Gay’: Gordon Thomson, Dynasty’s Adam Carrington, Comes Out—and Trashes CW’s Reboot http://www.thedailybeast.com/im-gay-gordon-thomson-dynastys-adam-carrington-comes-outand-trashes-cws-reboot
  2. Jack got on my nerves when he was with Erica, I never liked how the show kept putting them back together and boosting theirs as some great endgame love. I think, or I'd *like* to think, that that happened by default because they lost Nader.
  3. Catching up on some early '80s... VW and DW were so great together. I quite like Carole Shelley as Iris!
  4. I briefly chatted with Nicholas Rodriguez (OLTL) about two weeks ago. He does musicals here in the D.C. area every now and then. He was down for a fundraiser, our version of Broadway Bares. He did an entertaining drag number ("I got the son in the morning and the father at night").
  5. This makes me so sad. I fell into a brief melancholy period of AMC/OLTL nostalgia last week. I tried to add screenshots of Susan's IG post but SON says the file's too large. He was so young. And such a handsome man. I loved how he really looked he could be Susan's brother and Albert Stratton's son.
  6. Oooh, great point! Not to mention her future husband was on the show.
  7. Thanks, these are great! There are even more with Constance Towers, Richard Egan...
  8. Can't stop staring at Charlie's outfit. Ahh, the early '90s.
  9. Carl, that was Frances Foster (Gertie in the infamous dog food meatloaf episode of Good Times). Unless of course you meant that Nelson subbed at some point. In the 8th grade, we went on a class trip to NY and saw a show with Novella Nelson and Seth Gilliam at the Young Playwrights Festival. Nelson played an abusive alcoholic grandmother with a mouth like a sailor. She was so poised and articulate at the talkback, my classmates could hardly wrap their brains around this whole "acting thing".
  10. The wonderful Novella Nelson has passed away. I loved her Judge Fitzwater ("Fitzy", as Hank would say), such a solid recurring character, simultaneously steely and warm. https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Broadway-Vet-and-Acclaimed-Actress-Novella-Nelson-Dies-at-77-20170902
  11. That IS pretty great. So many series I have yet to catch up with, I'll try to resist getting sucked back into old TNG episodes... for now. But such great memories. And when did Spin get older than me ...
  12. Thanks, I've been wanting to see this for years!
  13. SFK replied to Sedrick's topic in DTS: Cancelled Soaps
I just read that Michael Parks who played Philip Colby has passed away. Rest in peace.
  14. Susan's popularity is thanks to the role of Erica which was written into the stratosphere. While the ladies you list are all fabulous in their own rights, none of their signature roles were written with the epic scope of Erica.
  15. I was just watching her (as herself) in the Gong Show episode of What's Happening!!
  16. Angie Dickinson was also an early choice for Sable, which I really can't picture.
  17. As a child, the age difference made zero impression on me, I just saw two grown-ups. Sure, JF was older than my grandfather, but LE never came across as young chippy wife either.
  18. "... you worked for several months as an artist's model in Hamburg, of all places." "Wrong, it was Brussels, 'of all places'."
  19. That's interesting, didn't think of that ("titi Cristal"). The thing that I do think of whenever this reimagining crosses my mind is how faithful the show will be to the original when it comes to the Adams, the Amandas, the Dominiques... characters who had mysterious/surprise intros. You can't really do that twice. I mean, you can, but... I wonder if those characters will even make it to the new series, and if so, will the original back stories be glossed over.
  20. There used to be clips of her Jill on YouTube, but I couldn't find them just now. Bond:
  21. I think Brenda was ill, or some sort of contract kerfuffle? Jerry Douglas did one of those SOD stroll down memory lane photo interviews back in the mid-'90s. In reference to the picture of him and Deborah when she was a permanent recast, he said something to the effect that she was his favorite Jill. He loved the layers she brought to the role (this was pre-Jess, he was essentially comparing her to Brenda).
  22. Some casting news that showed up on my FB feed: http://deadline.com/2017/03/dynasty-rafael-de-la-fuente-cw-pilot-w-tre-davis-valor-1202039712/
  23. This still makes my jaw drop:
  24. I will watch this reimagining of the show in the same spirit with which I watched the "BTS" TV movie. Instead of letting myself be so bothered by this like that Jem movie, I'll keep in mind that this can't take anything away from my affinity for the original series. Just don't touch Sable.
