If the show had interest in him it would be easy for them to write it that soon when Joss is furious (if my theory proves true) Jax could try to talk her down. It's really odd. Many folks are MIA. Of the kids, there's only Aiden. Of the Davis women, there are 2 solo Mollys & Molly with Ric but no Kristina or Alexis. There are 2 solo Macs & one Mac with Anna but no Felicia. There are solo Curtis & Portia plus 2 of them together. There's 2 solo Carlys. No Jason. Maxie & Spinelli both solo & one together. Etc. Oh, yes, absolutely! Especially given how much trouble Rachel was for her mother, Ada. So, it is a kind of perfection that Rachel gets paid back both by Amanda & then later by Matthew. Although Matt was never the kind of problem child that Amanda really always was. Two of Matt's relationships were challenges for Rachel. One you know about already, Josie. Much later Matt has this amazing relationship that I don't want to spoil for you. So, mum's the word on that. I don't know if you know this or not. But, if the scripts are pdf files, there is a pdf utility that lets you search multiple files at one time.

That relationship between mother & son was the epitome of the real world experience & I don't think that had been a thing before that show. It was a really incredible show that showcased real people in real situations, also of course they were very funny people. And, BTW, could I have possibly said the word real any more times?!!

I don't think any of it made it to air. AFAIK the only DOOLish thing was when Tomas said he thought he'd seen a vampire at the hospital. Does anyone else remember anything else?

I see what you mean. They were a pair at AW also with Friends & Lovers which was later called For Richer, For Poorer. Not a spin-off but a crossover. Paul's history (& also Joe Stuart) with Ellen Holly is truly appalling. And, then, of course, he was I guess you'd say abusive to Maeve Kincaid. And, I'm sure there were more. In comparison Pete was a man with a giant ego & not much more than that. The ways he was difficult especially with actors was, as we know, a problem. But in the larger picture, he did a lot more good than bad. I fault him for the firing of Jacquie Courtney.

Great summary of both men. In the vein of giving credit where its due, I will say one really good thing about Paul Rauch. At the time of his death he was actively putting together people who might have been able to provide a new venue for GL, which had just been canceled by CBS.

I can totally see what you mean about Amanda & in fact she is quite spoiled. She could hardly not be with the way she grew up. Mac alone spoiled her. Not even counting anything from Rachel. Sam is just as you say. He really has a blind spot when it comes to the fact that the Corys have a lot of money. He always has. Yes, Paul at OLTL was worse than he was at AW.

I understand completely about how cruel Leo & Dimitri were to Gwen. They were awful to her. I agree about Ron's worst qualities. And, I am no fan of Jamey's. Plus, this storyline added in with B&S & you have one giant mess. So in summary I am not at all surprised that they fired him.

I get that. I wasn't confused about what you were annoyed with Sam about. I was reaching. But the show is not there yet. So in that way I jumped the gun.

I imagine this is an unpopular idea but I don't think we need Jax. I have wracked my brain trying to think why in fact the show needs him. And, I come up with absolutely nothing. I can definitely see what people mean when they say that Charles Mesure should have been a Jax recast. He is a New Zealander so there is that. Accent is in place. Really, what purpose do people see Jax playing today?

I would never put Pete & Paul in the same category. They worked together fairly well. But, they were so different. Pete was not in any way like Paul was in some disturbing ways. Pete didn't harass anyone or be accused of things that Paul was accused of. I'm not suggesting that Paul was all wrong. But he did have his moments. I'm not aware of any bad behavior on the part of Pete Lemay. I'm also not saying that he was a perfect person. We know he had an ego. Most HWs do. They both were hard workers & they truly cared about the show. Now I'm sure I sound like this apologist. Talking about this stuff at all is murky. I'm sure they did their best. They together went to many shows & they tried to cast people that they saw in the live theatre. It gave AW its kind of unique showplace. They thought they had better actors. Of course when everyone was a half hour show, many daytime actors were also in the theatre. There was a time when Evan appealed to Amanda. Of course she was a married woman. He openly courted her. I know you find Sam to be annoying, but he wasn't wrong about Evan when it came to Amanda. Evan pretended to be Amanda's friend. Evan was too much of a snake to really be her friend.

What is it about broads like Caroline? Girls don't like her. Men have no idea what she's about.

Oh, my, this had to happen. May light perpetual shine on him & angels guide him to his new heavenly home & may he find there, people who have long been out of his sight, family & friends & beloved pets, who are holding a feast in his honor as they await his presence and finally may he rest in peace and power. Thanks for that confirmation! I don't even think of Phillip & Alan-Michael as brothers, even though I know that they are. When we move to ATWT I automatically think of Lila's tribe. Those siblings really meshed. The Snyders, of course were a very special family. Marland created them much as Lemay created the Frames.
