  1. Yeah, I even think that Rachel would intervene if Matt, at this point in his life, took too much interest in an older woman, any older woman. So I don't think this is something that you need to worry over much about.
  2. Good god a mighty I do love this show!!!! Vicky & Lisa going at it in the ladies' room at TOPS, who could ask for anything more sublime on a random Sunday morning?!! And, Vicky's hair! Someone really outdid themselves today with curls upon curls. What fun they had in Hair & Makeup. I don't remember Lisa becoming a problem for Matt & Josie. I definitely DO remember Matt getting more interested in Lisa but I believe it stays safely tucked into the Friend Zone. I don't think that is a spoiler.
  3. Wasn't it awful?!!! Somewhere I read an account from a writer who worked with him & he said that everything that Malone pitched they shot down. (Of course, we've heard that sad tale before.) Then, of course, he took the basic framework of BOURBON STREET 13 & very awkwardly pasted it onto Bay City. That was a soap that was supposed to have been greenlit & even a pilot was shot but then, for some reason it didn't go forward. So, that's where Shane & Lila came from. It was a Malone/Griffith/Gottlieb project. I remember there was an article, maybe in DIGEST, where Malone being interviewed, listed the 10 things he'd done at AW that he was proud of & I was flabbergasted that I hated every single thing listed. I was particularly appalled that he seemed to have the idea that Jake was some kind of fancy gentleman instead of a blue collar dude with a chip on his shoulder. Malone was only at AW for 6 months & I felt like he did 3 years' worth of damage. And, was it under him that they moved that swingset?
  4. My reactions to Michael Fairman's Best/Worst of 2024 I agree with GH as Best Show; A Best Actress Honorable Mention to Nancy Lee Grahn, Alexis Davis on GH; Another Actress Award to Y&R's MTS for her alcoholism storyline; Another Actress Award to Kate Mansi, GH's Kristina for Baby Adela Irene at her graveside on her funeral; Another Actress Award to Susan Seaforth Hayes of DAYS for Goodbye to Doug DAYS. An Actor Returns Award to Steve Burton, GH's Jason Morgan. Best Ensemble to both GH for Bobbie's Memorial & DAYS for Doug's Memorial. Standalone Special Episode Awards to same. Worst Storyline, tied with some thing else on another show" DAYS Body & Soul. Best Tearjerker Sam McCall's death. Worst Villain: DAYS Konstantin. Best Recast Alexa Havins as NuLu. Worst Couple Drillow
  5. Our tech is trying to kill us! I refuse to let autocorrect get the better of us. I laugh at its absurd word & letter substitutions. Just yesterday someone posted that the new GH Collector's edition was going to be just lime the Y&R one. (Stupid autocorrect changed like to lime!) But here today I knew what you meant! 100%.
  6. I've got something stuck in my head & I want to see if anyone here can confirm, or deny, either one. And, that is that Michael Malone loved actors & liked to be around them & so even though most HWs did not & do not, he kept an office at the studio. Next, did I dream this, or make this up, but he interviewed actors about what had happened to their characters to get at show history?
  7. The loss of Ryan as the best romantic partner for Vicky was major league unnecessary loss & it was all on JFP. I mean when a couple is so good together that the writers write them reuniting in heaven, good god, why wasn't that couple endgame?! Her falling through that skylight was an amazing visual effect! You mean of course MADD, or whomever, NOT allowing Zas to remain with the show & Roger to play out his diagnosis & die on the show, right?
  8. One of my favorite ATWT standalone scenes is Marland with Iva running into the barn, screaming, carrying a pitchfork, "Don't! Stop! She's your child!" Then, knowing that Betty Rea hired Lisa Brown with no job for her, Marland declaring her his muse & creating Iva for her on ATWT & Nola for her on GL, then, I'm on board with him & prepared to see what else comes of him. Unfortunately, I've not seen nearly as much as I'd like to.
  9. I forgot to say how good I think it is that Corday brought Drake up to speed on their plans for John Black & had him sign off on it. Such respect for the actor & any feelings he might have about the final story they give him! I saw Steve Nichols in an interview say that at first he bristled at the idea that they were going forward with whatever it is they're doing but then he found out Drake had given it his blessing, so he's good with anything that Drake is good with! Absolutely! I read we'd be seeing this
  10. I was 2 days behind & I probably made an error in reading everyone's comments before catching up. I suspect I had a bad case of elevated expectations. Knowing DAYS as we do, can you imagine a less promising perspective to have! Yes, I found Friday underwhelming. Oh, blast. So, anyway, not even in my top 25 Julie current moments. But, I did love one thing & that is Cat Green seeking out Marlena, although she said she was trying to get in touch with John. But, I love the tale she told, that it makes John a hero, that any even hint of villainy was erased. It was well grounded that she didn't know this family history before & just found it out from her mother, in Vancouver in the visit she just returned from. Perfect storytelling! Why can't they do this with every story? I hate Sophia's complacency in accepting her mother micro-managing her life & it's not even that her mother has her interests always at the forefront, no, it's ideological. Tate is goofy saying not to thank him for things. It's manners, it's habit, don't jump on her for saying it, dude! Why would Holly keep Doug3's secret? Why does Philip think there's any chance Stephanie will keep his secret? And, wasn't it too fast for the forgery to get found out?
  11. This is something I've thought for a long while. Of course, it's not fair. We know what kind of magic Douglas Marland did during his second tenure so it gives us "insider trading" level info as armchair quarterbacks. And, the Dobsons at GL, well, the drama was just elevated.
  12. If you have the time for it, I would say definitely do so!! I still don't understand how they did some of that visually, which I completely love. I love Tatiana Maslany! I wonder, though, if she will find roles that are good enough for her. I expect ORPHAN BLACK is one show I will end up re-watching at some point. Start again & do not even consider stopping until the 4th season. That's my suggestion. Please deposit 4 tokens at the beep. LOL
  13. I loved that show! It was good, then the next season was better than the first, and so on, at least for a bit & then it just leveled off to excellence. Sorry, no idea about a thread. Another show that was like that, good, then better, then still better, etc. was ORPHAN BLACK.
  14. I'm still disappointed that we didn't hear anything about VM at the event she did with Rena & the event she did with Mo. Listen, apparently GH was dark both Th & Fri because of the fires. I did not hear this myself but some fans who were at Steve Burton's Patreon said that he said openly that Wed. they sent everyone home, not to return till Monday. This was in a GH group chat that they talked about it. Of course, it's also not a surprise.
  15. I honestly cannot believe how awful this is. My god. But, of course, if you were going to promote that misbegotten story drek, sure this just the way to do it, use a cooking metaphor!
  16. Supposedly he hadn't had a vacation & he indicated that if he walked directly into a new show without one that it would be ages before he got any time off, so they let him have a month in between shows. The Dobsons wrote both shows for that month. Like clockwork when that month was up, Marland stepped into the GL top writing spot & the Dobsons just concentrated on ATWT going forward. Maybe it's me, but that just sounds off. If Marlana was only at ATWT for a 13 week cycle, then why had he not had time off before he began it? And, same beginning, why was P&G unhappy with the situation at ATWT if it was what you've just described? IOW, not a serious HW effort on Marland's part? Just being a placeholder?
  17. Well, welcome! Are you watching DAYS now? I am so excited about Beyond the Gates!!
  18. What I had showed Apr '93, so close! Maybe he had shows continue to air with his credits after his death?
  19. It's been an interesting journey but also something of a beast. P&G, in their way, did no publicity about the SFT abortion. AMC, in their way, did loads but it was in error because it claimed to be a Roe abortion meaning 1973 which turned out to be wrong. We still do not have a close date for the SFT one like Will's script & the articles Jason47 just provided for the AMC one. There's a soap publication that confirms its existence but the possible date range is unfortunately long.
  20. Well, the dates may be telling. The first tenure looks like part of a year, then the Dobsons looks like 2 years, then his second tenure looks like 8 years. (Of course, we can never be sure of dates like this off of Internet sources.)
  21. I know many fans automatically figured this would be the big reveal of Feb. sweeps.
  22. These dated articles are invaluable!! As usual, great finds & thank you.
  23. The Meta changes are alarming. And, it's really a mess because the Facebook mechanical censors recently have been notorious for censoring things that were harmless. Also, Facebook at least in the recent past has made it impossible to see what post was being called as the rule breaking post. Unfortunately it sounds like their response is to make things worse, not better. As one simple example, yesterday I made a post congratulating Steve Burton on his engagement & Facebook declined it as some negative of one of their community standards, specifically which of course unknown. And, thinking about the issue of gays & accusations of "mental illness", it was in 1973 that the American Psychiatric Association changed it so that being gay was not considered a mental illness. Does that mean that Facebook is turning back the clock 52 years? What kind of reverse progress does that represent?!!!
  24. Of course Carly will challenge that legally. Whether she will prevail or not, we will have to wait & see. Clearly she has a good case against Willow because among other things, Michael had already had Willow served & taken action legally to divorce her & try to get sole custody. These things will work in Carly's favor. Thank goodness for Diane!
