The only group of black people who aren't in this for Hillary are black millennials who bought into Bernie's hearts and flowers routine and even they are starting to come to their senses now that cops are shooting us for sport on a weekly basis. Even Shaun King's crazy ass is voting for Hillary and he once claimed that she wanted to have him killed. Most minorities know that we simply don't have the luxury of a protest vote. Flowers now won't be at the debate. It's amazing how Trump's supporters like to claim that Trump doesn't back down and yet that's all he's done during this campaign.

That was well done but frankly I can never look at the NYT the same way after how they lambasted her for the last 18 months and gave Trump a free pass. I feel that way about a lot of folks but at this point we need to have one goal and that's stopping Trump and I'll take any ally we can get for that cause.

The New York Times did a really amazing endorsement of Hillary and not one of those "hold your nose and do it to stop Trump" pieces. They lay out a very methodical case FOR her.

This election is a defining moment. It's not just about the country or our democracy but our humanity. The sad thing is that if we survive this election, the same people who brought us to the brink of this destruction - the media, the Berners, the Dems who don't show up to midterms, the millennials who think that voting is about choosing a soulmate, the Republicans, etc...will go right back to their destructive behavior. Deep in my heart I'd like to think that this election would be a turning point for this country. It SHOULD be a turning point for this country but it won't.

I'm the person who was wondering how to stay friends with Trump supporters. For me this isn't about disagreement. I've disagreed with these friends for years but now we are reliving the run up to the Third Reich. They're voting for fascism. There's got to be a limit. I'm a black woman. How am I supposed to stay friends with people literally voting for people who think I'm subhuman? This isn't about tax policy or the TPP. This is life or death on a lot of levels. This is the possibility of nuclear war. Trump in office will unleash a wave of white supremacist violence that will make what we're dealing with now look like nap time. We'll be dealing with suicide bombings on American soil because if you're looking to radicalize Muslims he's a gold mine. I have Republican friends and pro-life friends and friends who don't like immigration but I can't have Trump friends. It would be a form of self-hatred to keep these people in my life after this. ETA: LOL! Jane and I were apparently typing in a mind meld.

Cincinnati is as conservative as it gets. It's basically West Virginia. I'm genuinely stunned.

Agreed but at the same time Trump is polling pretty well here. I think the state could actually go for him. Or not, we are the swingiest of swing states plus the 6th Circuit just killed the voter purge that the Repub SOS tried to do so right now we're a big question mark. I think Hillary will win but it would be fascinating if she managed to win without Ohio.

The GOP are unified barely. That's why none of the names are campaigning for Trump including the ball-less wonder Paul Ryan. Yet all out of office GOP members are voting democratic. When I hear Jimmy Carter or Al Gore endorsing Trump then I'll worry. Call me when the Bush family and Kasich endorses which will never happen. Bush because their political careers are over and Kasich is positioning himself for 2020. Kasich is determined to be the one to pick up the pieces of the broken GOP. It's a good strategy. It's very interesting to see the conflict between Kasich and the state party. They are doing everything in their power to get him to fall in line and so far he seems willing to tell them to get bent.

I think Trump's antics over the last week may goose black turnout a bit more. Coming out in favor of national stop and frisk in a week when we've had two (three? I've lost count) police shootings may make some of these black millennials come to their senses.

Robert Downey Jr. Is a conservative but he's not a psychopath. This election is no longer about left vs. right. It's about sane vs. insane and rational vs. irrational and someone who's done as many drugs as he has knows insanity from the inside out.

As an Ohioan, it's become a sad ritual at election time to see which of my fellow Buckeyes will say something so insane and stupid that it makes the news. This week has been a chidren's treasury of Ohio stupid. And that's part of the problem. They get to live in a world of "could've been." At best Bernie Sanders would be fighting for his life because he wouldn't attract a fraction of the black support the Clintons get. The GOP would've flooded the airwaves with the fact that he wanted someone to primary Obama in 2012, his tone deaf comments in Flint and Baltimore, the fact that he comes from a lily white state, etc... and a lot of those black voters would just sit home. I don't even engage with the Never Hillarys. These aren't protest votes, they're revenge votes and you can't reason people out of revenge. Also, they THIRST for attention. That's why they run all over the net telling us all how they're going to vote for Lady Nader. They love having the rest of us beg them to act like adults.

Stop giving bandwidth to the left wing tea party. They are every bit as nihilistic and hateful as the right.

I continue to be amazed by the fixation on the emails. We've now had the DNC, Colin Powell and our Olympic gymnasts hacked. Maybe it's time to recognize that she was the smart one.

I trust Nate Silver. So far he hasn't given me any reason not to. Silver at least admits when he's wrong as he did with Trump and he's transparent about his statistical model. He can only work with the data he's given and tries hard to be as objective as possible. I trust him to tell me what he thinks the data shows even when I hate hearing it. He's always been a stats wonk first and foremost. We can't hold him responsible for CNN's polling shenanigans. IMO, it's important that we don't become people looking to unskew polls just because we don't like the numbers. I compare three different polling sites: Real Clear Politics (which does seem to enjoy the horserace aspect so I give them the least weight), FiveThirtyEight and the Princeton Election Consortium.

The sad truth is that even when she wins she'll still be unable to get anything done because of Congress. Unless the Dems can get a supermajority on Congress the Repubs will just keep doing what they did to Obama. That's what pisses me off so much about third party voters. They bitch about nothing getting done then do something that assures more of the same.

I don't think either will have a solid win. My only consolation at this point is that the Clintons have been up against the wall before and they both work so much better when that happens. But I am tuning out also. I can't bear listening to the coddling and embracing of Trump at his press conference where he blames Hillary Clinton for starting the movement and then takes credit for proving Obama legit. BEcause that's all I expect to see yet the press will fawn all over him without seeing the damage all this is going to our country. Other than real Americans(like the Kahn's, the Flint Pastor, real people) does anyone in the press, the media, in our political hierarchy give a damn about this country. It seems know and to think someone like Donald Trump has convinced people he's a representative of the little man, sickens me. But I am now convinced that there is a whole lot more racism and bigotry in this country than ever before. Unless we get some leaders who will stand up and say it, I pray for the future of America. I'm trying to have faith in our voters but it gets harder every day. People get so beaten down by this it quells their enthusiasm. It is tough. Part of me wonders if this is it. If this is how America goes out and if so, what comes next? I have friends I've known for years who are voting for Trump and I just don't know how I can stay friends with them. What do you do when your friend joins the Nazis?

Hillary did a great indepth interview on the Tom Joyner. Some tough questions and IMO she handled it well and giving her first interview to black journalists was very smart. http://blackamericaweb.com/2016/09/15/hillary-clinton-says-shes-doing-better-talks-plans-for-african-americans-hbcus-what-shes-still-outraged-about/

Yes, she's working herself to death. If this woman is spending her last moments on earth and final breaths to save us from fascism, then maybe people should pay attention to the [!@#$%^&*] that matters. Ugh, this election is going to kill me.

Obama on the campaign trail is everything. One of the reasons I was so eager for Bernie to go the hell away was because as long as he stayed in the race Obama had to sit on the sidelines. When it comes to campaigning Obama is everything Hillary isn't. That's not a slam against her. Unlike a lot of people I genuinely like Hillary Clinton and I'm enthusiastic about voting FOR her and not just against Trump and it has nothing to do with her gender but Obama like Bill C just has the kind of charisma that you can't fake and you can't learn. The shame for me is I'm actually old enough to remember what Hillary was like before she became so guarded and cautious. The "deplorables" comment was like seeing original recipe Hillary again for just a brief moment.
