I've heard of foreign soaps doing flashbacks with a previous actor in the role. Of course, you just know that'd confuse some Americans a lot, and is probably why they won't do it. Still, it would open things up so much.

I can only speak for myself: I'm sure the scandal hurt her a little but I've been growing dissatisfied with the show the last 2-3 seasons. It's hard to put my finger on it, but it went from a fun, hugely entertaining show to feeling a little routine. I honestly think she's tired of doing the show to an extent and the fact she keeps bringing in Guest Hosts (to the point where it's now occurring every 5 episodes or so) is annoying me. I'm watching the ELLEN show. If you don't want to do that many episodes, maybe just end it. She also feels less genuine and real. Cracks are showing.

That appears to be true. AFAIK, Greece started airing Y&R in 1990 with 1986 episodes. 1986 is a great starting point. You had Victor and Ashley's affair and Jill's divorce drama.

I can't believe it! I've been scouring Greek YouTube for years hoping someone would finally have some episodes to upload. It finally, sorta happened! Only ONCE did someone start putting up the episodes daily as they aired during the 2002 episodes. It lasted only 2 weeks. They were copyright stricken and never returned AFAIK. The channel also has a brief Skip/Carol scene with Nan.

PSM definitely was the ultimate Fallon. At her best, she was amazing. But, Emma Samms more than proved herself in the show's final season, when Paulsen finally allowed/wrote Fallon as she was meant to be. The writing and characterization prior to this, not to mention DYNASTY's static acting directive, gave Samms and Fallon NO chance. I agree about Season 1 to an extent. It really was a deep, thoughtful, smart show, and it all came together wonderfully. But I also think Season 2 found a perfect balance between camp and smart. They were able to be OTT without sacrificing logic and plot. The more it went on, the more things fell apart.
