Dynasty Discussion Thread
Dear God... Amanda has known that insipid rat Michael for all of one episode. On the beginning of the second episode of the storyline, she wants nothing to do with him on the first scene she's shown and, by the second, Michael's professing his assurance in Amanda's love for him. By the end of the episode, Michael says he loves her too. Two episodes. Two. And that is only a small part of the horrors of Season 5. The same episode also features Steven proclaiming several times that he wants a "normal" lifestyle and that being gay will never fulfill him. Ah, bless....

HBO: Game of Thrones
The showrunners' plan is for the show to last 7 seasons. Hmmmm not sure how they'll achieve that when it took a whole season to tell less than half of book 3. But perhaps, once they finish with season six, they'll skip whatever storylines they feel are necessary and get to the end point. Then again, it might not be that impossible, especially since they know the end of it. The problem there being, of course, that I don't think they'll be allowed to end the show in the same way as the books before the books are published. I'd be perfectly happy with 10 seasons, though http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/03/11/game-of-thrones-7-seasons/

HBO: Game of Thrones
It's exciting to read your thoughts as you discover the show! I recognize a lot of them as what I experienced back then. Meanwhile, I've been reading A Storm of Swords. What a great book! It's been making me rethink Season 3 (which I thought was a great season) and how, in hindsight, Theon's torture porn doesn't seem as bad as it did in a once-a-week basis.

The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
Good episode, overall. The opening scene was great. What an inspired thing, to pair such opposite individuals as Daryl and Beth. It should be interesting to see how many ways that implodes. Maggie going through the bus was heart wrenching although Glenn's explanation that he got out of the bus was kinda thrown away and weak. But was worth it for the sight of him in riot gear I'm glad Judith's alive! Carol! How very soapy that Carol is now stuck with Tyrese. WTF was that campy trio at the end? It felt like we suddenly stepped into DYNASTY-style acting. I hope that will change in the next episode lol Great location work, btw. Really enjoying all the outdoors scenes we're getting to see. The train tracks was a particular favorite. She did. She said she couldn't find Beth but she knows Glenn got out and which way he went, so she chose her best option.

RHOA: Two things I'll say: Nene's comments about Brandon were disgusting. She just kept going and going, and it became worse as she went. SMH at all of them putting the blame squarely on Kenya. (Yep, still think bitch should have stayed sitting. Still think Chris was DEAD WRONG for grabbing her like that--he could have just put his body between Kenya and his wife if he was so worried). But NO blame put on Apollo? He gets away with it?

The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
Terrific return. The insight into Michonne's past life. Seeing a walker that reminded her of herself. Breaking down and killing all the walkers. Returning to follow Rick & Carl's tracks. The little monologue she had. Her reaction to finding them. Brought me to tears several times throughout the episode. Carl is growing into quite the performer, isn't he? I LOVED his monologue while Rick was sleeping/unconscious. So much psychological damage & hurt. And, yet, he still retains a playfulness (the writing on the door, the chocolate pudding). The "oh, sh!t" cliffhanger was terrifying, as was fighting the walker in the house. And that little scene where he thought Rick turned. Great work. Rick is so destroyed, in so many ways. Is he really weak? I've never thought of it this way. The writing has managed to keep him away from that exalted stereotype of the ruthless, strong man and he is ten times more fascinating for it. When he has to make the tough decisions, it has even more impact. In the end, Rick's still human, with a heart, with conflicting emotions, and a position he doesn't necessarily want to have. I am so thankful he's not the male lead caricature that so many want him to be. And the way they did the ending was unexpected. Such a ray of light among all the bleakness.

Jill Zarin bugging, demanding and draining the sh!t out of someone? NEVER!!! I can totally see that as a reason. Plus, she is a vile ho. Alex & Simon were WTF-worthy enough to justify their existence until their shtick became old and they could hardly generate any story, so I could see him not liking them.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Hmmm. I'm not surprised that ratings would be high for NYC Season 4. It does make it a little more difficult to explain why, as a corporation/brand, they decided to reboot. HOWEVER, I am not surprised they did it because my experience as a viewer watching it was that it had gotten so dark, so nasty, so vile, so UN-entertaining, that, besides the trainwreck quality to it that kept me watching until the end of the season, I would have dropped the show in Season 5 if the drastic changes hadn't taken place. It'd be surprising if similar feedback led them to a creative change that wasn't impacted or fueled by ratings, aka money. Now, did the changes have to be so drastic? Not really. They could have been smoother/more drawn out. But what I saw is that the people who, I, as a viewer, could not stand anymore were thrown out, with precision, no remorse, and no long, drawn-out, "we know they're getting cut" drama. Besides, I'm afraid that keeping all those Housewives while introducing new ones= too large a cast, and slowly writing one out while introduced another= would take too long. So, yeah, they made a brilliant decision in cutting that poison out. Seems they were convinced enough, for some reason or another, that the risk was worth it. The ratings will go up again now that almost all the Housewives have been around for a season and they've had a lot of time to work on it, provided it's a good season. I really do hope so.

The Wendy Williams Thread
http://youtu.be/jKE096tyspw I just got to see this. Wow, Barbara was at her cold-hearted, bitchiest, cuntiest best here. My God, how can you even dare be so judgmental, nasty and condescending right out there in the open? "I know what your problem is" "You yell at your son like that?" BITCH, GTFO. I wouldn't have talked about this on air if I were Wendy but she did, it happened, and I see what she means. She's going through that tough phase were she has to be the enforcer to an often difficult teenager while the dad gets all the cool points & doesn't experience the negativity the mother does. For some of these bitches to criticize and/or pretend they don't get that. Ugh. LOL What else would she talk about, if not the Housewives? Syria? Ukraine? I would die if that day came
