  1. Which made it even better when Kathy basically told Kyle in so many words that she's sick of her playing the martyr. Someone finally called Kyle out about those excessive, hollow ass tears. And Kyle getting snippy with Dorit just confirmed that they are not real friends. They are in an alliance--one that is cracking from all corners.
  2. Can we discuss how hypocritical some of the Potomac women are? So Robyn can advance on Wendy and get no backlash but Monique was deemed aggressive? This is the third offense of Robyn walking up on people in an aggressive manner.
  3. Does Pam really think that would've been smart though? Pairing him with Harley that is. She, Frank, and Nadine were barely assimilated onto the canvas. I think the smarter choice would've been Mindy as she was the longest standing young adult female at that time.
  4. I just hope they don't kill her off and leave the door open for her to return. I've always loved the Sharma clan. I still haven't forgiven the show for getting rid of my sexy Nikhil.
  5. I've always said that once MZ was diagnosed with ALS, they should've immediately thrown him back into Holly's orbit. Roger would start pulling away from everyone he loved once he got diagnosed with ALS. He's end his relationship with Amanda and go into hiding. Holly would be concerned about Roger becoming recluse as that isn't him. Holly would share her concerns with Blake. Blake, being dastardly and meddlesome, would do some digging (and breaking and entering) to learn that Roger has ALS. Blake shares her findings with Holly, who is immediately heartbroken about Roger's prognosis. Meanwhile, Blake goes into a tizzy fearing that ALS could be hereditary and could be passed along to herself, her children (Kevin & Jason), or Hart. Blake start to unravel and silently become a hypochondriac trying to find the answers and cures to combat the disease in case it was hereditary. This would become an issue for Ross/Blake as Ross notices the shift in Blake's attitude, what the kids consume, etc. He would eventually stumble upon the grim truth of what is wrong with Roger and it being the cause of Blake unraveling. Holly would dedicate her time to wanting to spend every moment with Roger. She (like Roger) knows that this disease is incurable and time is limited. Initially, Roger would resist Holly coming around. He doesn't want Holly to view him as some invalid--a charity case! Fletcher would be peeved around this time as he doesn't understand why Holly is spending too much time with Roger and not him and Meg. Fletcher shares his concerns with Ed, who investigates and learns Roger has ALS too. Ed would confront Holly and get her to confess Roger's ailment to him and upon Roger learning the truth, he would've recoiled from Holly again. How dare Holly tell his sworn enemy his secret! Ed, like Holly, would start to check in on Roger and help conceal his secret. However, the remainder of Springfield is questioning what is going on with Roger. Where has he been? What is he up to? Hart and a bitter Amanda would be at the epicenter of trying to unveil the truth, constantly trying to sneak into Roger's home only to be intercepted by Holly or Ed. Hart would eventually get the truth from Blake in one of her many breakdowns, which would cause Hart to want to make amends with Roger. Dinah, who would've been with Hart at this time, feels that Roger is faking his ailment to draw Hart back in and wants to expose him. In typical Dinah fashion, she would unveil Roger's secret to all of Springfield. This would backfire on Dinah as everyone actually feels pity for Roger. Even his enemies feel pity. It would also repulse Hart and give him legitimate reasoning to drift into Cassie's orbit. Roger (again) would feel embarrassed for all the pity he would receive from everyone but grown to realize that's Springfield overall--the sense of community and looking out for their own. This would also light a fire under Roger as he'd take that fighter spirit and direct it toward beating this disease. During this time, he and Holly would've reconnected and Holly would admit that regardless their past, she has loved no other man like Roger. She wants to spend the rest of her life with Roger. Holly would propose marriage to Roger but he would initially decline. He doesn't want Holly to marry him out of pity. Eventually, Holly would show Roger that she isn't marrying him out of pity--she truly does want to be with him. Roger proposes to Holly, much to chagrin of Fletcher. Fletcher feels that Holly is setting herself up for heartbreak as there isn't a cure. Holly doesn't care and she and Roger finally marry. From there, the story would go on until Zaslow was no longer able, and then we would transition in Holly becoming a widow and having a breakdown herself. Roger's funeral would've been proper and grand. Peggy and Billy Fletcher would've been brought out of the moth balls along with Mike. Everyone would've aired their grievances and love for Roger. At the end of it all, everyone would've toasted to the life of Roger. To further pull on the audience's heartstrings, I would've secretly brought Ellen Parker back and shot a cute scene of Maureen (of all people) guiding Roger to the light (Heaven) a la how Dixie did with Palmer on AMC. If the Nursery Rhyme Stalker was to continue to occur, I think tying in losing Roger (with her already dealing with losing Meg, which was the reason why she did this crime) would've played a pivotal. Not only did Holly kidnap the kids due to the loss of Meg, but Holly did it because she wanted to surround herself around youthfulness. The kids have a full life ahead of them and with Roger's recent passing, she realizes tomorrow isn't promised even for her. That would've been my idea of Roger's final years.
  6. So did Pam basically quit because she didn't want a co-head writer or was it b/c she didn't get a long with James?
  7. Interesting that the BBC devised this article but fails to put that energy into fixing EastEnders, which is appears to be in the crapper (from what I've been reading). Soaps aren't in danger if they'd actually allow those who are passionate about the genre to run it. At this point, that would be the fans. The genre needs new lifeblood in it for it to continue to live. As I just mentioned in the Emmerdale thread, a lot of the fans on the forums need to be in the writer's room at this point. Most of us can devise stories that need to be told better than the likes of Ron Carlivati, Brad Bell, Josh Griffith, etc. Soaps just need to revert back to simplistic storytelling with purpose. A well-thought out beginning, middle, and end. Shows like Succession, Never Have I Ever, Euphoria, Blood & Water, etc. are practically soaps and are banking big off of telling gritty every day stories. When was the last time a network soap told a story like that? The model does need to change as 5 days a week is excessive. Put the soaps on a streaming platform and put out all 5 episodes at once, so people can binge those episodes for the week. The network model (IMO) is dead. The target audience that the network wants (18 to 34) are either in class or working. Preferably, I think soaps need to be 3 episodes a week with a break from late December to mid January like the Aussie soaps do. That saves money and gives the actors and crew a break to do other projects during the off-time.
  8. I think what you have highlighted--the subtleness that the anniversary episode could've had, is what networks don't want. Heaven forbid we have an anniversary episode that doesn't contain murder, mystery, and mayhem. I assume TPTB think that a simplistic stroll down memory lane with a celebration of the show's community does not suffice. I think they'd be pleasantly surprised that fans do like the simplistic at times. Something that always boggled me with soap opera fandoms is that it is so easy for us (the fans) to devise well thought out stories to honor the history of the various shows; however, these folks that get paid hundreds of thousands cannot. I know network heads play a role in it (too) but damn. I literally took you probably 5 minutes to devise a proper anniversary episode that would've been just as moving and not with all special effects and hollowness. A lot of y'all on this board need to highly consider becoming writers if you aren't already.
  9. I get that the show wants to depart from its pastoral past prior to the early 90s, but they need to come to terms and embrace that rich history. So many unblemished characters with stories could be brought back to richen the show. All the soaps need to revert back to their original identities b/c when they tend to stray from them, that's when they lose what captivated the audience originally.
  10. That's it? With a show that has a rich, 50 year history, they only brought back 3 characters? Jesus. That worries me. If I were EP or even worked for the neighborhood, I'd want to roll out the red carpet for this historic occasion. Anniversary episodes/specials, a plethora of old characters popping in, just something to celebrate the occasion. And stunts that kill off 2 people are boring at this point. If you ain't gonna slaughter half the cast at this point, I don't care. It is not shocking TV for 2 people dying. From reading updates that you and @DRW50post on here, they could've killed off at least 10-12 characters. I saddens me that soaps all around the world are running low on fumes and basically nearing their ends. And they don't have to near their ends if TPTB would stop being lazy and revert back to compelling, sensible stories. Streaming platform shows are basically making millions off of classic soap storytelling; meanwhile, soap themselves constantly try and recreate the wheel when it isn't necessary.
  11. She is gonna have all the free time in the world when Bravo finally casts her aside. No one is gonna touch her with 20 foot pole as she keeps proving she is a liability. Star Jones has to be somewhere grinning as she was the original person to pinpoint Rinna's obsessive side. And Rinna's acts are gonna kill what little career Harry has too. I hope they have money saved up. They're gonna need it in the near future.
  12. Jesus. Rinna needs to go. This is getting too dark.
  13. Oh wow. Something so gory like that, Sam should've died. Even if he's one of the few Dingles (Cain and Marlon being the other 2) I like. I need to catch up and see who all the victims have been thus far. I have watched ED in a LONG (as in years) time.
  14. Oh boy! This was a good episode. Holly/Roger/Mindy/Alex/Fletcher/Chelsea--boy that is some love sexagon. I did not know that they were teasing Fletcher/Chelsea. Did it go any further? If it did, I am interested to see how Maureen reacts as Fletcher carried a torch for her for the longest. Roger and Holly... my forbidden fruit. My favorite soap couple that didn't get the ending they deserved. So chaotic and self-destructive individually and together. When Roger uttered the breakdown of their relationship, "She loved me once and it's a thin line (between love and hate)..." it sent chills down my spine. I watch these 2 go on and on. Poor Billy. I do love that Ed was used to provide counsel with his alcoholism.
  15. Andy needs to go after tonight. He is too biased to host the reunions on these shows. He's immersed in this drama at this point. I found it appalling that he sat there and giggled with Rinna/Erika about recycling while Garcelle sat there in pain that her book was thrown in there. Then he was a hypocrite for all the times he has called Jennifer (NJ) and Candiace (Potomac) out about being disasters on social media--literally threatening them but Rinna gets a mild reprimand accompanied with giggles!!!! He is unfit at this point. Remove him, Bravo! Moving on, Erika's shade to LVP fell flat. It still boggles my mind how the ghost of LVP lingers over this cast. If I were on a show like this, we would literally NEVER talk about someone that left the show on their own free will. Crystal taking Kyle to task was hilarious. Kyle was simply trying to have a moment and it backfired. She should've just sat there and absorbed the information and learned something--grace! Sutton and Crystal already made amends, and Crystal was receptive to Garcelle's critique about the power behind Crystal's accusation. Garcelle didn't need Kyle to chime in at all as the nice moment between the three civilized women on this show was lost in translation with Kyle's pointless squawking. Why is Dorit still on this show? She was literally wallpaper. Get rid of her. She adds nothing. Not even her gaudy fashions can save her at this point. Rinna "tears" (as I didn't even see any) did nothing for me. That segment to make her sympathetic fell flat. The network just needs to accept that Rinna is a cretin that needs to go too. Anything consisting of Rinna just gives me agita. And her saying "put me on pause" and not being challenged unnerved me too. A recalcitrant twat... It just p*sses me off how Andy lets Trout Mouth get away with murder while scolding others for doing less. I'm just ready for Kathy to come and shut sh*t down.
  16. @I Am A Swede, I am just messing with you. 😂 I know you hate the Dingles but I just gotta poke you every now and then to see your reaction. It is one of my favorite things on this thread to read--your disdain for all things Dingles. But I agree that Dingles have swallowed this show for far too long. It is only 3 Dingles that I've truly cared for on this show. But if that specific Dingle ain't dead after that, I don't know what will kill them. In all seriousness, no one would survive that accident. Especially, in the middle of a storm. The scream of laughter I just let out over the truthfulness of this comment.
  17. Whoa! I don't think I've ever seen a death that gory on a soap. But why that Dingle?! That person was one of the few Dingles that I liked.
  18. @Cat @Taoboi @DaytimeFan @Antoyne @Cheap21 They're back!
  19. Vicki got put on the spot of the legends ball as Ashley, Kenya, and Teresa took her to task for running her mouth too much. She got the Ramona treatment this year.
  20. Are y'all keeping up on BravoCon updates? We are getting the Miami (so excited) trailer on Sunday! Rinna apparently got booed at the BH panel. The Dubai women were civil in their panel apparently, but Chanel stole the show with her gown! Dorit (like her boss, Kyle) is apparently making Crystal her target for next season. She made a dig at Crystal always saying "violated." Personally, had I been Crystal, I would've came for her neck and mentioned that staged robbery but I digress... RHONY's new cast has been full cast and will be revealed soon. RHUGT s4 is about to be cast and they can't reveal the concept as it'll reveal who they want to cast. Joe Gorga (in press) now wants to make up Tre. 😒 Tre better f-cking not... Let the Gorga find their own way for future seasons.
  21. I wanted Garcelle to yank Kyle up off that sofa TBH. And how Diana tried to tie this to the Bosnian genocide was sickening. I was glad when Garcelle told them she was done talking to Diana.
  22. Garcelle was the MVP of the reunion. I LOVED when she got Kyle's dumb a** together. How is it a 14-year-old's responsibility to protect Diana's family?! Diana and Kyle were horrible in that segment. Crystal fumbled the ball this part of the reunion. Crystal's problem is that she tries coming off as too astute to the point that she looks like an idiot. I do like that she has no problem with going toe to toe with Kyle. I see these 2 locking horns in future seasons. And Kathy being close to Crystal and going to further complicate that dynamic. Overall, if Sutton said something heinous, which is clear that she didn't, Crystal should've said it from jump. That's dangerous for Crystal to imply that she did. I'm ready for Kathy to come out and do good by taking Rinna and Erika to task. And Kyle sitting on WWHL now saying that she does not believe that Rinna has always been the RadarOnline source is why she is a class A moron.
  23. Yes, it's not entertaining but it's insightful for the most part. These shows can educated properly at times too. I think the audience would want to see Brent's journey to overcoming this ailment too. And I am not concerned about Nene having burned bridges as countless talents have sued the network and it became water under the bridge. Bravo can do the same. These shows are starting to wane and they need to pull out all stops to keep them running a wee bit longer. Nene does have a strong following.
  24. This is where Bravo should be kicking themselves in the a** b/c they could've captured Porsha's upcoming nuptials, Nene's issues with Brent, and Cynthia's divorce all on camera if they weren't so premature about everything. Personally, if I were a Bravo exec, I'd be pitching bringing all three women back on the show right now for the 15th season.
