  1. Oh wow. I didn't know that Lyla was originally intended to be a slutty character. But I guess b/c I've never seen scenes with Veleka Gray in the role. IMO, I think Lyla would've been more interesting if she was a bit more sultry than the drip she was. I like Lyla but she always comes off as sullen and meek all the time. I always wonder how she bagged a sexpot like Casey Peretti being as dowdy as she was. And poor John has always had a thing for younger women even though his best pairings (IMO) were with women who were his contemporaries (i.e. Lucinda/Lisa/Emma). I do get mad all over again at how the show allowed Larry Bryggman to walk away when John Dixon was a character that could wreak havoc and drive the whole show just off his antics. I would've enjoyed the show had they put Bob and John against each other again for the hospital OR a Lisa/Lucinda/John triangle at the end of the show. Plus, with Dusty's return, it would've been good to see them interact too. But all this recent ATWT viewing I've been doing along with the talks I've had with you all make me wish that P&G would just release all the episodes in their vault to the public instead of allowing them to rot. I seriously would love to watch all the episodes of ATWT from the 80s that I can. I just find it to be an interesting era of the show.
  2. So clearly this was before Sierra found out about Craig/Lucinda's tryst. After the reveal, she'd go on and marry Tonio, correct? The exchange between John and Lisa was hilarious. I've never seen someone wind Lisa up like John did in this scene. It was also funny of Lisa to rehash all of John's history and all the women he screwed over, and for Lyla to soon follow and back Lisa's argument. I wondered why the show never attempted a Lyla/John pairing. Those two always seemed to have a good chemistry, and from watching old clips of ATWT, Lyla has been one of the few that knows how to chin-check John every now and then. I did feel bad for John watching him become deflated once he spotted Craig kissing Sierra. I wish that the episode where Marie Kovac was killed was post back on YT. Heck, I'd like to watch that whole arc. While Marie was a bit of a flop character (according to some ATWT old fans), she did play a pivotal role in one of the show's greatest stories/murder mysteries. And was Marsha the one that sent the note to the police to get the police off her track and onto Lucinda's?

  5. RHOC: Boring. I couldn't even watch it. I turned the TV halfway through. I'm over the cancer storyline. I did watch WWHL and Shannon was being a frigid twat towards Gretchen. I am glad that Gretchen told Shannon that she was drinking the Tamra 'koolaid' and that she'd learn just like Gretchen did. It was funny to hear how Gretchen ingeniously showed how Vicki's story now mirrors hers a few years back and how Vicki was a hypocrite. I am glad though that she wishes Vicki the best and told her that she should be with Brooks if he makes her happy. At the end of the day, Vicki should be concerned about herself. No one else. RHOCheshire: Tonight was so GOOD! Can Bravo just scrap the OC and replace it with Cheshire? I get more emotion out of them than I do OC. I loved seeing Magali step up as a boss and let these hoes know that you don't cross Magali! I enjoyed watching her wag her finger at Leanne and I wish she would've reached across the table and hit her ass too. Ampika and Lauren are so ride or die and I'm glad that they don't agree with the video and have sided with Magali. Leanne loves to say that she isn't a lap dog, but she stayed reporting to her master throughout this episode. She's such a sad sap. I seriously think that Dawn should be concerned about her. Magali isn't the one that wants to be Dawn. Leanne is. And that lesbian rumor was absurd. If it doesn't apply, let it fly. Them entertaining it and getting heated over it only gave the rumor legs to stand on. Plus, it is clear that Magali didn't start the rumor; she'd own it if she did. But I wouldn't be surprised if Leanne did have feeling for Dawn. Why is Tanya still on this show? I liked her last season but she is pointless and irrelevant. I am glad that Ampika digs into her ass along with Leanne and Dawn next week. Lauren is kooky and I get a laugh out of watching her try and find new methods to try and lose weight. Sorry, Lauren good old fashioned exercise is the best way! But you gotta love her for trying. The showdown between Magali and Dawn was epic. Magali approached Dawn like a boss, and Dawn of course cowered like the wimp she is. Magali ate her up and sent Dawn running out the polo match with her tail between her legs. I am enjoying Magali giving Dawn a dose of her own medicine. And the whole Magali 'wants to be Dawn' was ludicrous. Who the f-ck says that as a 40+ year old woman? I think Dawn is the one that isn't happy with herself. I'm glad that her husband, Ashley, is forcing her to mend fences with Magali. It has to be draining for him b/c it's obvious that he genuinely likes Magali and Dean.

  7. I loved Mariah's return. I think she has a legitimate reason to be pissed at these women. She actually gave all of them a platform to stand on and showcase themselves and they all spat on her in return. I don't blame her for being pissed and calling them out.

  9. Duncan truly looked like he had seen a ghost.
  10. No. I didn't see Lilith's debut scenes. Was she crazier than what she is currently displaying now?
  11. Thanks, Carl! Lilith is a psycho bitch! Are those Shannon's clothes that she's wearing? But I do understand her sexual urges for Duncan. He is irresistible. I am really enjoying the scenes with Jared and Iva. I was cracking up at her sister, Liz, stewing in the background over Jared and Iva bonding. I'm wondering is it because she feels her position is threatened about her position or because she feels Iva might be left something hefty. I see what you are saying about Marland when it came to Lily/Kirk. Glad he nixed it. Lily had enough men vying for her attention at that time. She doesn't need one more. I just love Lien. Anyone can understand her frustration over a new baby coming into the photo; she finally had her daddy all to herself and now she had to share him. I'm interested to see how far Marland took this story too. Lien had so much potential. I hate that she was never brought back in some capacity in the show's final years. Seeing as she had a tryst with Ben at one point, it would've been interesting to see a Ben/Jessica/Lien triangle and how it'd affect Margo and Tom seeing as Lien is their daughter and Jessica is Margo's best friend. Barbara looked like she wanted to die when Hal told Paul to tell Margo he loved her.
  12. Such a wonderful episode of ATWT. I really enjoyed it. Does anyone know why everyone was trying to keep Lily and Holden apart around this time? And who is this Spence character? What's the backstory with him? It is good to see Snyder farm in motion. Besides Walsh Enterprises and Oakdale Memorial, it seemed like the most busiest place. And thanks to this episode, I realized why Lily hung around the farm so much. With Spence, Holden, and Caleb lingering about, I would've too. That fantasy that Caleb had of him and Lily was HOT! Caleb is freaking HOT! So macho and arrogant--but a man's man. You can tell he knew his way around a bedroom. I hope Lily had the good sense to at least take Caleb for a test drive once ... or twice! Iva's scene with her father was so good. Just straight to the point. No obstacles. No nothing. I'm hoping the following episode is posted so I can see Iva and Jared talk. Emily was so much more complex in this episode than what she became in later years of the show. While she was known to be the vixen, she still had morals to her. I loved seeing her come to Meg's aid and threaten to tell Tonio that she was his mistress. It's refreshing to see a woman stand up to Tonio and not have an ounce of fear. Did Nella have any major stories during her time on ATWT? I do have to commend Marland for at least trying to diversify his canvas and thread them into the community of Oakdale. I haven't seen a clip under Marland's reign where the AA character was isolated from the rest. Roy, Heather, and Jessica were well loved in Oakdale. Practically extensions of beloved characters on the show. Duncan's story is so campy but good campy. Is this the ex-wife that supposedly shrunk Shannon's head or something like that? I wanna see the climax of this. From reading the history of the show, I could see how AW was a cheap imitation early on as the Matthews were somewhat a carbon copy of the Hughes clan, but I don't see how it was in the 70s and onwards. AW seemed to cut out it's own niche by then, which was by creating hybrid families through friendship.
  13. Why? WHY?!!!! I wanted Kate to stay at Emmerdale. She was doing so well. Why mess up a good thing, ITV?! But I do hope that she takes the broom and clean house. Starting with Michelle, Fiz, and Sean. All them of them irrelevant bitches can go.

  15. RHOCheshire: Ooo! I am so pissed by tonight's episode. I am LIVID. I don't appreciate how these women have painted Magali with the 'aggressive' brush when she's had once blow up this entire series. I'm sorry but that sh-t make me look at all of them (minus Lauren and Ampika) with a major side eye. And how dare Leanne try and act like she has some more high ground. Girl, didn't you use to swing from poles to make a living? I found it laughable at best. But I am glad that Lauren dug into her ass and let her know that it isn't right that she filmed Magali on the train, and is now using it to have some moral leverage on Magali. Tanya is a moron. One, why is she still entertaining hearsay? And when Ampika genuinely felt offended that someone would say she'd say something about Tanya's marriage, she still didn't believe her. Tanya is about to go back into the doghouse with Lapdog Leanne. I am glad that Chantelle stayed neutral when she was shown the video BUT still defended Magali. I also commend Dawn's husband for going off on her b/c she is so stupid. Furthermore, I am over this fantasy she is living in where she believes everyone wants to be her. Lady, you're a 40+ year old woman about to begin menopause, but you're still trying to procreate.
  16. RHOA will probably be back around it's usual time, which is the first Sunday of November.
  17. But from watching clips under Pam's reign, I never got the sense of friendship with her. I guess b/c I didn't watch consistently. But she never game me that impression.
  18. *sighs* I miss that sense of friendship and community on soaps. Preferably the P&G shows. I feel like no one has friends on soaps nowadays. They're either acquaintances, casual allies, or just enemies on these shows. There's no depth. No nothing.
  19. Yes, please watch the original plane crash. Ever since Carl repost the episode on YT, I've found myself watching it over and over. It is a masterpiece. Also, search around for various Kim Tate or Sadie King episodes. You'll love how delicious both women were during their time on Emmerdale.
  20. I remember hearing about her being Mormon too but I didn't care. I just wanted a good quality show. But I do feel like many of her whippings (and Kreizman) were deserved. Neither listened to the fans and they just pounced all over GL's history, which was funny seeing as both of them loved saying that they were long time fans. I agree that AW was creatively a better show. I do think had the show survived it's cancellation, it would've been a force to be reckoned with. When AW fired on all cylinders, it was untouchable. I think had they had the right team eventually, AW would've been so good.
  21. Yeah but even under Wheeler, she could've turned the show around. She didn't. Instead, she spent her reign hiring irrelevant newbies that she'd force feed to the audience and tossing all of the show's history to the wayside to pimp the Cooper clan and Gus. She didn't start catching the hint till it was too late. They were filming scenes in bushes by then. I agree about Goutman that he stayed one too many years. IMO, he should've left with Hogan. I'm still pissed that he felt that the show didn't need to bring back many of it's beloved characters during the final weeks of the show. But do you think had AW been given a reprieve that it would've actually been the last soap standing? That DAYS would've been the soap that got the boot in 07?
  22. I think that is what hurt soaps in the 90s forward. Everyone seemed to forget soap brands. Certain soaps, preferably the ABC soaps and DAYS, could tell over the top stories. It was in their wheel house. I feel like P&G hurt itself by trying to do the same. P&G soaps were always the most grounded soaps and focused more on real issues. While Another World was on it's way down, I still feel that she could've turned the show around. Another World just needed a few tweaks and it would've been fine and could've lasted a lot longer than it did. Plus, I blame her for putting Goutman and Wheeler in EP positions, which would cause detriment to ATWT & GL.
  23. This is why I love picking your brain on stuff. I would love to see Lucinda at her lowest knowing that she'd eventually rise from the ashes once again like a phoenix. That's what I wish they'd start doing with Victor more on Y&R but that's another story. I remember hearing about MADD wanting Shawn Batten bad and it backfiring. But MADD made so many stupid decisions during that whole time on all three P&G soaps. I swear she was paid to purposely dismantle those shows. Especially Another World. Sucks that Rex and Mary Ellen didn't wanna stay any longer. I still feel that they should've tried to bring both characters back in later years. Especially during the Hogan/Jean years when Jennifer heavily drove story. It would've been nice to see Darryl and Hal exchange casual shots and feud over Jennifer as her fathers. I'm sure that Colleen was probably thrilled once Ben Hendrickson reprised the role of Hal and saved her from that pairing. But it always amused me how Barbara conceived Jennifer the same way Margo did Adam. So weird but funny. But again, it just pisses me off too how under Hogan, Adam would appear to be younger than Jennifer when he was actually older than her.
