  1. I don't relish writing this post...but in LVP gossip... There are two gossip sites/blog sources that have always felt more reliable to me than most. Crazy Days and Nights and Deux Moi are these two sources and both have troubling things to say about LVP's financial circumstances. The reports are that her empire is crumbling and in tens of millions of debt. Anyone who knows anything of the restaurant industry knows that it runs tight and there is usually very little money left in the business on a monthly basis after all obligations have been paid and owners have taken their profits out of the business. That is how it works and is usually OK, but Covid-19 has gutted the restaurant industry, with a particular emphasis on destroying the high end restaurant industry where the point is to see and be seen. The Deux Moi report is that none of the restaurants are reopening and that Tom Tom has been struggling financially. My sincere hope is that LVP has protected her personal wealth and that these business debts don't ruin her. This site summarizes the Crazy Days and Nights and Deux Moi reports: https://www.allabouttrh.com/2020/09/11/vanderpump-rules-season-9-is-lisa-vanderpumps-empire-crumbling/
  2. Yeah...I'm not watching another season of The Coven. No ma'am. Good for Denise for quitting, breaking free, and putting herself and her family first. I hope Garcelle does the same. She's nabbed a spot on The Real, she doesn't need RHOBH. It was a major bomb and explained a scene from that previous season's trailer that had just been dropped and never explained. It made so, so much sense. And whew, Dorinda's anger was next level.
  3. Carmen Duncan was absolutely wonderful. She should have won an Emmy for the reveal scene in the Chief storyline. She somehow brought 25 years of character history in that scene when she'd been on the show mere months. Although I thought Iris getting framed and sent to jail was an awful exit, Carmen made the absolute most of her scenes and I loved her last line: "Life is too short for regrets."
  4. RHOBH Reunion Part 2... Knowing that Denise has quit, the reunion feels like a lot of "Who Cares?" and I know I don't really care anymore. I've never cared if Denise lied because I've never cared if she slept with Brandi. It's a big SO WHAT? Love Garcelle. Sutton was great too saying she's weird. Andy showed his cards when he joined the gaslighters saying Denise called Brandi a "good friend" when the footage didn't show that at all. Kyle's neck and décolletage skin is heavily damaged. She might want to look into that. Not bad for 51, but it doesn't match the skin on her face, so... I am now a Dorit fan. She did not back down to Kyle and I love her for it. Kyle is such a perpetual loser that she couldn't help but whine and moan and try to play the victim when referencing Dorit's comments on 'her' fashion show which were 100% correct. Rinna is a psychopath. She is uncomfortable to watch. Erika and Mellencamp's daughter contributed nothing. When you have to talk about your kid getting a piece of her finger chopped off and sewn back on...which had nothing to do with the season...you know you are literally useless. On a better note, I found a wonderful compilation of The Grande Dame dragging people:
  5. Variety is confirming it - so it seems a done deal that Denise is out. I wonder what this means for Garcelle who previously said she’d return if Denise did... Such a shame that Bravo doesn’t have the balls to do what needs to be done. What on earth will next season be about?
  6. The show has been fading for many years. According to the LA Times, the series peaked in Season 4 in 2010 with 4.8 million viewers while the latest episode had 800,000. NBCUniversal was not going to pay the kind of renewal that they did 3 years ago (less than the reported $100 million, but a substantial sum nonetheless). E! has been rudderless for years. When they cancelled E! News this year, after 29 years on the air, I started to wonder what, exactly, E! is meant to be?
  7. Dorit and PK have listed their home in Encino (with the Agency, naturally) for $9.5 million - $3 million more than they apparently paid for it a year ago: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-8706529/Dorit-Kemsley-PK-Encino-mansion-market-eye-popping-9-5-MILLION.html
  8. One only has to look at Season 1 of the Real Housewives of Vancouver, which in my opinion is the single best stand alone season of any franchise - all down to the fact it had a beginning, middle, and end of the arc when Ronnie turned on Jody and Mary was proven right that Jody was selling used (or as Jody put it 'vintage') handbags at her store.
  9. RHOP Another great episode full of fun and light drama. Gizelle is still awful for stoking the fires between Karen and Wendy.
  10. Agreed on Jill's success at Jabot. I give Bell/Alden so much credit for allowing Jill to be a flat out success at Jabot - her pride at doing good work gave Jill added depth. The 1990 - 1994 Kay/Jill dynamic is interesting because it comes off Phillip's death and both characters seemed to down their weapons because they were united in their grief over his death and their mutual discomfort with Nina.
  11. Not only that, but Chris Cuomo has had lingering symptoms, which is being dubbed 'Long Covid'. Emma Samms has experienced the same 'Long Covid' symptoms, 6 months after she was diagnosed: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8630419/British-Dynasty-star-Emma-Samms-59-tells-six-month-Long-Covid-hell.html As you said so rightly, this virus is a wildcard. It's pathology is only just beginning to be understood, and if it is the inflammatory/vascular pathology that is now theorized, rather than a simple respiratory pathology, there are so many ways this virus can affect people negatively and lethally.
  12. That is what I have always admired about Eileen. She is a very deliberate and focused performer who knows where she's going in every scene she's in. That may be so, but ES and MTS were very visibly supportive of Jess Walton, even as she ascended in success as Jill, winning her first Emmy in 1991 (in fact, it looks like the whole show was thrilled for her). The Scotts are seated directly beside Jess and her husband and look thrilled for her. I think ES would know that MTS, with the Nikki and Victor pairing, was secure as the leading lady of Y&R, even if she didn't always have the critical plaudits to prove it. Jess's Jill transitioned the character into an empowered woman of the 90s and beyond. I firmly believe that had BD stayed int he role, by the mid 1990s, she'd have been written out. Her acting style and what they were doing with the character was not sustainable. Jess's Jill is far more earthy and real.
  13. 100% agreed. Sonja deserves her spot on the show and is always a delight to watch. I'm glad Leah sees in her what many of us see in her. That's a very good point, it seems like once a HW exits and has a few months/years in the real world, their perspective on the show really changes and most would not contemplate returning for anything more than a cameo.
  14. She sure did. Those last 45 seconds were brutal. And completely her fault.
  15. Kyle cannot grasp that 1) she isn't special and 2) she's not nearly as likeable or relatable as she thinks she is. One of the most transparent and oblivious housewives ever. THIS. Andy needs to go as host of these shows. His bias is incredible. Andy has been a problem for a long, long time on these shows. Someone much smarter and sharper than Andy. His nemesis, Kathy Griffin, would do a good job at it. Wendy Williams would do well too because she likes the shows, but she doesn't really care about them and isn't personally invested. That is Andy's downfall - he gets personal with the housewives and who he likes (and hates) gets obvious.
  16. Also, Kyle was a real piece of sh-t trying to embarrass Garcelle about her charity bid. Garcelle has posted on her social media that she checked with her business manager and that it got missed and has dealt with it. Kyle waited 7 months, 7 months, to raise the issue on TV, rather than sending Garcelle a friendly text or email to follow up on her donation. Why? The donation doesn't matter to Kyle at all. She just wanted to have something to embarrass her. Another howler from Kyle: that her airhead family is sitting around the dining table discussing Black Lives Matter. I'm not exaggerating when I say I haven't rolled my eyes that hard in a decade. Is she for real? Her vapid family are too busy posting videos to Tik Tok to have any appreciation for what's going on in the real world. Rinna has really crossed that line where a housewife is no longer fun to watch. She's just ugly. Her anger at Denise liking a Tweet saying she should lose her "job" confirms what I've been saying all along. This is a commercial venture for Rinna and she has sold her soul for whatever fame it affords her.
  17. The RHOBH reunion Part 1 was produced very well. The lighting and camera work and audio was very clear. However, the only good part of it was the Best of Sutton reel. She is funny and a great addition to the show. Rinna came in scorching hot after Denise. She clearly hates her and has her talking points all lined up. The theme of 'gaslighting' is what Rinna is turning to, which tells me she knows the audience hates her. Kyle clearly loathes Garcelle and is upset she can't play victim with Garcelle because a) Garcelle did nothing wrong to her b) Garcelle said nothing inaccurate about her and c) Garcelle is more popular with the audience. John Mellencamp's daughter proved that she should be fired this reunion. She had ZERO story and only had something to say because Sutton called her boring, which she is.
  18. ABC must be coughing up some decent money. It's the most noteworthy cast they've had in a very long time. I do wish Carol Baskin hadn't been rewarded with an appearance on this show.
  19. I agree with all of this majorly. Karen was thrilling to watch this episode. Potomac has had zero filler. Even RHONY, always enjoyable, struggled with some episodes that felt like filler. BH was *all* filler
  20. We don't need to hear or see anything from Tiger Woods' side piece with dodgy lip filler. Hard pass.
  21. I love the confidence: “I sure did” She made the most out of this appearance. The franchise is the poorer if she leaves.
  22. And it's the automaticity of Jill slapping her back which gets me. It's like Nikki didn't quite realize that Jill was that bitch who was not intimidated in the slightest by Mrs. Victor Newman. As alluded to by @YRfan23 bringing Nikki and Jill into each other's orbits through Jabot, rather than Katherine, was genius. I always liked that on Y&R while all the characters were in the same universe, they were not in each other's storylines - there was smaller storyline bubbles and characters would go a long time without interacting with each other - that's how real life is.
  23. It's my favourite era of the show. Everything worked.
  24. RHOBH That was it? Pathetic. The Dorit housewarming party was nice, light fare. And it was pretty obvious Kyle knew that Brandi would be attending the party with Kim. She is not a good actress. Dorit, on the other hand, is a blameless party. She looked both shocked and pissed. I liked that her ending scene was her proclaiming she was fine being an island unto herself. She came into her own this season. For once, Dorit wasn't chasing the pack. She was fine being herself. And I like that Dorit a lot. I loved Faye's sequin jumpsuit. She looked amazing. I always remember the late Vanity Fair columnist really liked Faye from his interactions with her from the OJ trial and I can see why. She's charming. Sutton came dressed like a tablecloth at a Mexican restaurant. Someone needs to steer her away from Dolce & Gabbana - they are doing her no favours. I love that she has the kind of money to secure a private plane. That diamond had better be hers for the taking next season. Garcelle looked incredible in that red dress. She was a wonderful addition to the show. However, if she decides to not return and just stick with The Real, I can't blame her and I will miss her. I am so glad the show actually acknowledged her marching in the Black Lives Matter protests with her boys. That is part of the reality that these shows are sorely missing. Kyle did basically nothing this episode, as she has all season long, except being an a$$hole to Denise, and I really do not see why she deserves to be on this show anymore. She does nothing. She isn't interesting. Even her pandemic footage shows she's a basic dumbass doing Tik Tok videos in her Encino living room like the stupid privileged sow she is. Rinna is, in my opinion, a bad person who would spit on the ground and drown her own mother in it if it meant another moment of fame. Is she really that deluded to think she's been at all a decent friend to Denise? If she can be manipulated this easily she should check that she isn't made of play dough (well, we know the lips are silicone injections from the 90s gone awry...) Erika contributed almost nothing this episode. And I had to laugh that Covid-19 torpedoed most of her Broadway run. Like, it's so absurd the ways this pandemic has impacted things big and small. You almost have to laugh that even the pandemic couldn't spare her Broadway run. While the ending tag said that Erika dazzled critics, I prefer this TripAdvisor review titled "Erika Jayne is a dumpster fire": https://www.tripadvisor.ca/ShowUserReviews-g60763-d143361-r738898462-Broadway-New_York_City_New_York.html There's probably another cast member to comment on, but whoever they are, they must be wholly forgettable and unworthy of even a moment of screen time, which is about as much as the Bravo editors ever seem interested in giving. Which speaks volumes. Time to free up some of that budget. Which brings me to the Denise Breaking the 4th Wall Paradigm that has haunted this season. The producers seem very problematic on this show, stoking fires that don't need to be there. That producer speaking to Garcelle, in particular, bothered me. He seemed to personally hate Denise. And then the scene toward the end with Rinna and Denise...lord. That friendship is over. It was clear at the lunch between Garcelle, Dorit, and Rinna that Rinna started to gun hard for Denise and start building the narrative that Denise was going to play the victim, which I can't say she has, not even once. What Denise has done is been smart and managed her exposure on this show. Once Denise knew that production was feeding information to Rinna, actively working against her, Denise was done. Who can blame her? That's what the producers/Bravo/the Coven doesn't seem to realize: the public will be behind Denise because everything she's done is what any of us would do faced with the same circumstances. This franchise is DOA next season if they don't basically wipe out Rinna/Erika/Kyle/Kyle's Stalker and focus solely on Denise/Sutton/Dorit/Garcelle and some new women.
