  1. Another World Countess Elena DePoulignac
  2. Secret Storm Harry Orzello Father O'Keane fellow priest to Fr Mark Reddin 1973
  3. I think this story ran around the time Capiyol debuted so viewers who wanted Washington intrigue wouldn't be tempted to check out the new CBS soap.
  4. Have to disagree SORASING has been a miss for years Reed,Mattie,Charlie, etc going back to Noah and Abby. The children are SORASED too quickly and age up the parents who the writers still want to be viable as romantic leads. Then they are dropped anyway. Wait until those kids are closer to their actual age and then commit to decent actors and story. The budget situation is dire. Trying to tell stories without sets or extras/dayplayers is embarassing. This is CBS #1 daytime show and there needs to be more support!
  5. Secret Storm Fred Porcelli Maitre D' The Bird Cage (Woodbridge night club)

  8. You know none of that will happen this time around. We'll get voice distortion, colored contacts and cheap makeup.
  9. Lynn had married Bill Beutel. longtime ABC news anchor. Maybe she had time on her hands as she adjusted to her new marriage/lifestyle, That marriage didn't last long but Lynn didn't return to acting.
  10. Charles Grodin Love of Life 1963
  11. Mary Jane Croft Midstream Midge Meredith
  12. The Verdict is Yours Mari Lynn also appeared in 7 episodes in March 1961
  13. On the 9/15 show Lily had a whole convo with Elena about Mattie getting into Stanford and what her major will be and I'm thinking WHY? First of all the twins are off the canvas after the not needed SORAS so reminding us that Lily is supposed to be the mother of college aged kids was unnecessary. Just a brief mention that she's 'really enjoying California' would suffice and leave it open for a return down the line with Lily's kids barely aged. Then we have Elena talking about being dead tired working on ASK MD, the hospital and the clinic. But all we ever see is her perfectly coiffed and made up chatting in Society or Crimson Lights. They rigged up a hospital set for Mariah, so why not something for Elena/Nate with a resentful day player doctor implying Elena was getting special treatment? The Imani/Nate story has vanished. Will she be back in a few weeks to play the same scenes again? Faith/Moses- no progression, just the same cute scenes. Ashland being Brooks Prentiss would have been great.
  14. Just discovered that actresses Jimsey Somers and Jocelyn Somers are in fact the same person. Jimsey changed her name to Jocelyn as she matured and wanted to not be associated with 'child actress' tag. Ann Thomas Edge of Night March 29/30 1961
  15. Jacquie,I beg of you, stay away from the creepy doll !!!
  16. I'm about a week behind in viewing so often too late to contribute. Also, I feel like I'm being too negative which can be a bit of a downer, but I watch each show and pretty much think about how the scenes and story could be better told and constructed. One thing I read on SOD was Camryn talking about the kidnapping story and how it was hard for her to be on the one set by herself. She said she taped scenes for 3 episodes in one block, which makes me wonder about the taping schedule.
  17. Week ending May 29 1961 1. The Guiding Light 10.1 2. Search for Tomorrow 9.0 3.As The World Turns 9.0 4. The Millionaire reruns 7.6 5. The Verdict Is Yours 7.6 6. Concentration 7.3 7. Face the Facts 7.1 8. Love of Life 7.0 9. Price is Right 6.7 10.Edge of Night 6.6 Guiding Light at no 1, outscoring it's lead in SFT and ATWT, #1 soap at that time. I've read elsewhere that ATWT began a weekly run(unbroken) as #1 soap in 1960 but these ratings say otherwise. One explanation is that these are Arbitron figures and it was Neilsen ratings that were most referred to.
  18. Yeas and Karen Wolek was a passenger and witness to that. Did Pat and Karen ever have it out over that?
  19. The reveal by slick Jones that Beverlee McKinsey played Diana Martin solves a long standing mystery. But, as is often the case, new questions arise. Did the writers create the role with the intention of Diana becoming the long term character of Diana Lamont? Or did they make the decision and then decide BM wasn't suitable? She stated that she wasn't the best match for the role. Charles and Diana are mentioned as coming on as neighbors of Bruce and Vanessa. it seemed like they were an established married couple, so why was she known as Diana Martin? All those story details are lost unless an article is dug up or a long term viewer makes a contribution. Here's hoping!
  20. Bill Hayes is amazing. NBC should be going all out on cross promotion with an appearance on Today or Tonight show. At 96 he is the oldest regular working actor in Hollywood. The man had a #1 hit single in the 50's and was a regular on the legendary 'Your Show of Shows'. Wouldn't it be great to see him recognized for his achievements?
