  1. Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
  2. Oh absolutely! I agree. It's sad that Penny has been sidelined so much. Kitty is such a great actress and she really got nothing outside of that stupid crush storyline that only brought this horrible Lauren's addiction storyline. I forgot about Jean's money scam, but I figured that it would lead to nothing. Sigh. Kathy has really been dragged through the mud. With her being revealed as Cindy's attacker and then being with Harvey.. I keep up with the show by reading what's happening, but none of it makes me want to tune back in. The nuMitchells crap with Shireen and Zack being Barney's dad is such a mess. But I am considering tuning in the returns, because Max is one of my favorite characters and if Tanya and Shirley come back, I would look forward to that. But I just don't think Jo Joyner would ever come back full time.
  3. Wait, what?? Tanya and Shirley are coming back?? I didn't see this news so far. Wow! I might have to go back to watching with Max, Tanya and Shirley coming back. I don't really care about Zoe, didnt watch the show back when she was on. Also, I did have a feeling at one point during Clenshaw when we were return heavy that some of those returns were just style over substance. Just so that the show can claim that so and so came back and die hard fans were joyful, even though the actual stuff on the screen was [!@#$%^&*]. I am kind of over these guest returns. I hope if Max and others return, it's on contract and not guest.
  4. Yeah, it probably really is one of the most watched. Maybe season 3 this January had even better figures, because what was reported here was season 2 from January 2024. I did a calculation based on the data provided in the report... And out of the 10 shows, DAYS would be the least watched. Calculation explained: With that said, again I agree that Day of the Jackal, which had a reported budget of 120 million USD for the season is still a loser for the streamer. There is no way they would ever get that money back. And yes, Days maybe still brings in the money for Peacock because of the year-round subscription. But that's not what the report published by this company was talking about, which was my point about reporting something as "most watched" based on total "minutes watched" as a metric.
  5. Ooh even the 1972! Nice! I am fascinated how the ratings would see-saw each week... The soaps would gain and lose viewers so much, as opposed to the later years when they were much more stagnant and if they lost viewers, they would hardly get them back.
  6. Yes!! I didn't realize it before, and had a busy weekend, so wasn't here much Wow, what happened to AMC this week? Crashing from 8.4 to 6.6.. I mean, I know they used to go up and down much more than they do today, but this seems like a harsh drop (from 7th to 13th). And nice to see Y&R's first weeks
  7. Absolutely. I agree. Streamers need to stop putting so much money into their shows, because it's insane and unsustainable.
  8. I get it. I know what network tv is and what streamers are. The math is still not mathing. But okay, I will stop
  9. Sorry to come back on this... but I wonder how streamers even count the profitability of a show. On network tv is simple.. you have your budget and then you have the ad revenue. If ad revenue is higher, you are earning money, if it's lower, you lose money (in a simplest way explained, surely there are some other factors..) But I imagine streamers just have to sum up all the budgets/acquiring costs of all the different programs and then all the subscription profit. Because I just don't get how they would split the subscription profits per show. Because if I pay 10 USD per month, but I watch two shows, do they give each show 5 USD from me? What if I watch 5 episodes (but not the full season) of one show, and a whole season of the other show? For example, I have had Netflix since 2015, never cancelled my subscription in that period. I watch a bunch of stuff. That cannot possible say anything to Netflix about where to allocate my subscription profits. On the other hand, I pay Disney+ since it began and in the last year, I didn't watch anything there (I know, I'm silly to pay if I don't watch, but that's a different topic).. You cannot assign my subscription to any show on Disney+. I just don't get how they can calculate the profit per show.. I assume that shows that earn basically no views are easy to just cancel. But others? I don't know... anyone has ideas? EDIT: Was browsing now to see what the budgets are for DAYS and Traitors (I am using Traitors as example only because that's literally the only show I know from Peacock). And I found here on SON that DAYS budget until 2023 was 37.5 mil USD. I found online that Traitors budget is between 10-20 mil USD. So even if DAYS budget is cut at Peacock, surely it wasn't cut by 50%. So DAYS is still running a higher cost annually, while Traitors get like 7 times more the viewers per episode. I am not trying to ruin this for DAYS fans, really, I was just perplexed how Peacock can claim that DAYS their 2nd most watched show, when it clearly isn't. And again, if Peacock is happy with these figures, great..
  10. I agree that DAYS is probably doing better from the cost perspective. But my point was just that I wouldn't say that DAYS is one of the most watched shows on Peacock. Because if it took DAYS 169 episodes to gather 3.1 billion minutes, but it only took another show 10 episodes to take 1.4 billion minutes, it's very clear. By comparison, 10 episodes of DAYS would not even hit 1 billion minutes, not even close. Better by cost, but not by views, is all I'm saying
  11. Oh wow, thank you so much, Jason!!!
  12. I agree. It is really silly how they always report these billions of minutes watched. I would think that having a show of 10 episode watched 2 billion times is better than having a soap opera with 200 episodes watched 3.5 billion times. Of course DAYS will have amassed more minutes watched, if it has hundreds episodes more per year. This metric makes no sense to me. But hey, if Peacock is happy... The guy that I follow for weekly streaming ratings on YouTube always converts these billions of minutes into views per episodes to have a better measure. So for example Traitors sometimes even appears in weekly top 10. I can see this logic actually. But I usually never see this mentioned as the reason for its success. Usually all the streamers are just bragging about the billions of minutes watched.
  13. I am happy that Max (Branning) is back and that might get me back to watch the show again. I am happy that Bernie and Felix are leaving, because both are such boring characters to me. As for Ben being back.. I used to like him. But reading all that he's done in between me liking him and today makes me really dislike the character and I have no desire in seeing him unless he will be seen as a bad guy that he is on the show, which will not happen.
  14. Hahaha Sorry if I was too negative, I just started typing and typing once I got going hahaha
  15. I actually stopped watching. I find the show really bad at the moment (or at least before I stopped, which was shortly after Sonia and Bianca's exit). And I just saw the overnight ratings for last week, quite bad, below 2 mil. I don't like the nuMitchells all, I don't care about Avani and Joel, I hate what they have done to Kathy by making her an attempted murderer who is so chill about it, also she is pissed off at Cindy for cheating on Ian, yet she is enabling Harvey cheat on Jean, I don't like Peter and Lauren as a couple, she is always so toxic towards him, making Zach Barney's dad is such a lame decision and plot twist... I found Stacey vs Ruby in the end horrible for Stacey. Firstly she accoused Ruby of burning the stall, then when she learned it was Lily, she was bullying Ruby into not telling anyone and making Ruby leave the square with everyone thinking it was her who did it.. horrible look there for Stacey and Lily, who was such a brat there (I get she was going through a lot, but terrible mothering from Stacey there, to say: sure, you can commit arson, pin it on someone else and get away with it, if you're having tough time in your life). I still hate what they've done with Gina/Freddie/Anna, I think it ruined all three of them, the whole where George was during Cindy's attack was just forgotten, which is sloppy and I just didn't like Terry Cant's rushed return, that was such a let down which led to the rushed exit for Sonia. So as you can see, I just don't like the show at all
  16. These contract guarantees of 1 ep per month are ridiculous. How can you even have a story if your character apprars 4-5 times in a month? It's sad.
  17. She looks like she could be Chandler Massey's sister, def not his dauguter. These SORASes are just ridiculous. Its almost like Christel Khalil having college aged kids.
  18. Yes, that's what I was thinking - I trust you more than IMDB Here you go, I did it Thanks once again for the data!
  19. Does someone maybe have a list of years with a total number of episodes aired per each year? Maybe @JAS0N47
  20. Fair point. Just think that a lot of (mainly younger) people today don't watch TV anymore at either time of the day, hence would not be aware of the existence of soaps.
  21. It's not just Aussies.. I've seen recently several examples where Americans online thought Days of Our Lives is not on anymore. But that's not to think they lost track after the show moved to Peacock... First example, a young American couple who review TV shows on YouTube.. they are currently watching Friends and there is the whole "Drake Ramoray storyline" going on. When they first mentioned Days on Friends, the guy said: "Oh that's a real show from the 80s my Grandma used to watch!" The girl never heard of DAYS and the guy was saying it used to run on tv many years ago and said the show was one for "like 20 years, like Grey's Anatomy". I told them in the comments that DAYS still exists and that it's on for sixty years. Second example is a bunch of young guys commenting on music, somehow got to the topic of Days of Our Lives and one of them referred to Marlena being possessed by the devil and wondered if Days was still on or not and if Marlena was still on the show. I told them yes. Also I spoke to one British guy recently and mentioned EastEnders to him and he had no idea it was still on, but he also said he never watched it in the first place, so I guess he was avoiding it altogether. So I think a lot of people are not aware of the soaps anymore. There is so much content elsewhere, so they don't watch daytime. And I guess since soaps are not advertised in primetime anymore (aside from BTG now), someone who doesn't watch daytime would have no clue about what soaps still exist.
  22. I usually LOVE Italy. It' s probably my favorite ESC country. I gotta say, I loved Olly (the winner of SanRemo), and I am sad he's not going to Eurovision. Lucio... I love the lyrics. They really are relatable. But I just don't like the song as much. Serbia is boring. But since Serbia qualifies every year, I don't mind them not qualifying this year and giving up the space for someone who hasn't been in the final for a while. Croatia (my country).. I gotta say, when the songs came out, I really loved this song. However I knew it would need to have amazing staging. Also I had no idea who Marko Bošnjak was, and when I heard the song, I thought it was some cool new band. But then when I realized who is singing it, my enthusiasm went down, because I just didn't believe Marko could pull it off. And now that he won (pushed by the juries, not the televote), I am still not convinced. The staging looked cheap (but okay, they can elevate for Eurovision), but I am still not convinced by HIM.. He needs to massively improve vocally, the big notes are not there. And also he needs to be better and switching between the "cute" and scary moments. Also, I think his "cute" moments should be more like, cute-creepy. UK and Czechia came out today. I don't know why but I thought Czechia would be a banger. But it's not. It's nice, I suppose. He has a nice voice. UK is fun! I hope the ladies can sing, because I like the studio version. And in previous years I enjoyed the studio version as well, but it would fall apart live. So I hope they can sing live. Otherwise I predict another bottom 5.
  23. My favorite it still Albania after all these months. Such an interesting song, with strong lyrics and charismatic performer (the girl, not the guy lol). I do enjoy some other songs, but none are really giving me winner vibes. Austria came out today and I guess I could see that win, but isn't that just too similar to Nemo? I don't see the same thing winning twice in a row. I just hope Mans doesn't win for Sweden again (sorry, I am Swede). Mans' song is just horrible. He is an amazing performer and the staging is awesome, but the song itself is just a bunch of nothing, in my opinion. So I hope Kaj goes for Sweden, it's a real fun song. Even if it does sing about sauna culture lol Out of other songs, I do enjoy Netherlands (even though the chorus is so weak and repetitive, I like the rest of the song a lot), Luxembourg, Belgium... I love Australia unless I actually listen to the lyrics. The groove and music and the singer are really cool, but again, the lyrics are just bad. This year's fandom favorites like Finland and Poland do nothing for me. And I hope Estonia does not qualify.
  24. OMG, you are Sue Osman on Walford Web? How exciting! I loved this post there as well.
