  1. Thank you so much @JWDrama1980!!! It's a nice message from him. I have been visiting the website for sooooo long. Probably since early 2000s, because that's when I got internet on my computer when I was back in high school, and when I discovered the world of soaps online. So I can imagine how emotional this is for him and I can imagine how difficult it became to run it on his own. I hope this company, while changing the website layout, does not delete the content. Because that would be really sad. Good luck to Dan though! Ah, so he is leaving the site after all? In his video he says he is remaining with the website. Or at least, that was my understanding.
  2. Oh what a nice video!! I think Jane Rogers is the most different from what I remember her. I mean, obviously it's been almost 40 years, but with a lot of them they still look so much the same (just older), but with her I would have never recognized her. Vincent I. looks amazing, wow. I remember loving Heather and Scott and I hated Celeste so much. I remember when I started watching Y&R in late 90s, and Hope appeared at some point, I was shocked that it was Celeste from SB and now she was playing such a nice person. Took me a while to like her hahaha And seeing Sherilyn Wolter... omg, I LOOVED Elena Nicholas / Eleonor Norris. She was so amazing and soapy villianess goddess. I still remember when she was in that mirror labyrinth and C.C. was there too and then he finds her on the ground, shot and her last words are "Cruz killed me, Daddy"... with two shocks at once... Cruz allegedly shooting her and her being C.C.'s daughter! So cool!
  3. Thank you so much! Nice to have a Youtube link! EDIT: While I forgot some characters completely, like Carrie and Dan, Ava (Roya M.) is exactly how I remember her! I remember her face like it was yesterday and seeing the video now confirms it
  4. OMG I love it! So soapy and over dramatic!
  5. I am not watch Y&R anymore, but this sounds like a Tricia and Matt Clark rehash, but probably done worse?
  6. Thanks for the info, Errol! Wow... so fast... really sad. I have never visited the message board, so don't really care about that, but I have been visiting SC a lot for old episode recaps and character information. Now it will all be gone
  7. Do we know if there is any deadline when they are launching the new version of the site?? This is sad...
  8. Oh thanks for the tip! I will check out the video when I come home from work OMG, how memory is a weird and funny thing. So.. as I said, I have no recollection of Carrie existing in Loving back when I was watching. However I remember a name Dan and a name Honeycutt. I remember that someone with a name Honeycutt kidnaps Ava and ties her up in a chair in some cabin or something. So I thought it was Dan Honeycutt that did it. But no, Dan was there, but it was CARRIE Honeycutt that kidnapped Ava, as a double agent. Did she have like a secret agent code name? I have a feeling like there was a name. For some reason, I have a memory that some Mayor was involved (Corinth Mayor?) In her kidnapping. Maybe this is another wrong memory lol Anyway, wow, okay, that makes sense. And funny fact, Ava kidnapped and tied to a chair is the last scene we got in my country. It was a cliffhanger and that was the last episode we got which is I guess why it got stuck in my head
  9. I dont know if this is just me or what, but I have hard time watching this because I cannot get the video to start streaming. But looking at the description and your comments, this should be right around time I was watching!! Which would be lovely to see again. I still remember Roya Meganot as Ava very much. And Cabot and "Clay"! However reading the description, I must say I have no recollection of Carrie?? Who was she? And Dan also escapes my mind. So weird.
  10. Wow!! It is so nice to see these photos!! I did not recognize so many of them. Some of these people I last saw when they were on SB, so many years ago, so I remember them solely by how they looked while on the show. I am so happy to see Marcy there! I have seen some interviews with A where he mentioned not being in contact and her just staying away from the business. So it is so nice to see her there with him and others. It would have been so nice to be at this event. So many memories!!
  11. Oh nice!! I will check it out. Thank you so much for the tag!!
  12. Oh wow! This took me by surprise! I have been saying to myself for such a long time that you never know, maybe one day they will close down SOC site, so better download all those recaps. I did it for some, not for all.. and now we are here... But from what I can see, with GH's new layout, the old recaps are still there. So I hope they will remain.
  13. Yeah, could be. But I would assume they would negotiate the contract with the studio for the duration of the contract with CBS. Because I doubt they would risk it going bad in the second year and them having to move the production elsewhere. I would think so, yes. I guess I am overthinking it, but it was just strange to see the end date mentioned. I just wouldn't expect it in the first real article talking about the production of the show.
  14. "The Gates will shoot in Atlanta from November 4, 2024, to August 29, 2025." Is it odd that they specify the end date for shooting? I mean, I guess they have a 1 year contract, but since this should be a continuing drama (if successful), then specifying a shooting end date is strange. And if CBS gives them only one year to find their footing, it is crazy. Soaps need more time. EDIT: The names are all so generic. Would have been nice to have some more unique names. I mean, Jessica, Betty, Joseph and Sara sound so ordinary
  15. Oh I am sooo going to enjoy the downfall of Reiss!! I cannot wait! And Debbie's mother is great But I do feel bad for Sonia. Love really made her blind That's why Sharon has no excuse when it comes to Reiss. She is not in love with him and she is still dumb with giving him her money. I like the Panesars, but right now they are focusing more on Priya, who I don't really like. She can be so annoying. I hope they are not pairing her with Martin. And I fully agree re: Chelsea and Penny. I mean, I get that Penny snaked her way into getting Chelsea's job, but being so horrible towards Chelsea now is just overdoing it. I hope Chelsea comes up on town eventually.
  16. Loved the Thursday episode!! The kid playing Tommy is so good at playing evil! Loved his scene with Alfie in the kitchen. I also loved the scene where Reiss realizes that he didnt have to kill Debbie because Sonia was going to sell the house. And then Penny's quick turn against Chelsea is so random and weird. I get that she was introduces as a drug dealer, but since then she was a pretty bland sales lady at the market. Maybe it would be better if it felt intentional (that she framed Chelsea to get her fired), but this all just fell in her lap and she ran with it. I wonder where this goes though.
  17. I really enjoyed this episode on Wednesday! I love Reiss killing his wife and how they set up Sonia would be blamed, with the signature and saying it in front of Jack. This will now get really interesting!! But Reiss is so gross. The only negative in this episode was Sharon so blindly trusting Reiss. I didn't get why she trusts him so much. I liked Sonia speaking to different Brannings and Martin about her growing up. It was a nice scene. I hope she doesn't sell the house. Tommy and Kat storyline is DARK! OMG, I feel bad for Kat. But she needs to show who the parent is. But now with Tommy calling the cops, might be too late. And Penny.. damn! She was so boring. And then she does this to Chelsea?! I wonder where this will go. I love Chelsea. Not a fan of Penny. So lets see..
  18. We had a string of US soaps that didn't air for long, probably because of the bad ratings (GL, ATWT, LOV, EON, SuBe all airing one season/year, from what I can remember). Only Santa Barbara aired in full and was popular. But to go back to The City, I think they thought that due to The City looking modern that it would have been more popular. So that's why they probably went with it after LOV cancellation here. Or maybe they got The City in some package deal. But at least they aired The City in full. I was shocked once I found out about the Alden deaths too! I was shocked! Shame I never got to watch that storyline play out. I remember I loved Stacey and Curtis. And then to find out they got killed off. And having loved Gwyn too, finding out it was her!! Oh my... As for The City, once I got into it, I really didn't mind the modern look. I still found a lot of the traditional elements in it to enjoy it. I loved Ally and Tony as a couple, love Jocelyn's storyline, loved Carla and Amy Van Horne, love Ted King... I did NOT enjoy Lorraine and that whole storyline. lol
  19. I remember they aired Loving in my country, but just for one year/season. It was the year whenever Luke Perry came on as Ned and discovered that his girlfriend April is a prostitute I think also within that season Randy Mantooth came on as Clay. And then after this one season, we got The City. I don't even know if people realized this was the supposed to be the spin off. Since now Randy Mantooth's character was called Alex Masters I did not like the beginning of The City. I found it so boring. Maybe also because I was missing the background information on the characters that moved from Loving to The City. But I got into it once Jared was shot and the Masquerader storyline started. I enjoyed the filming/production style as well. It seemed to be trendy for that time. Considering that no other soap is like that, I guess it could still feel fresh and different if done today. However, since young people don't watch network tv much these days, would then the older generation still watching it, would find this style interesting or would the prefer something that is safe and comforting and familiar?
  20. Oh I agree with a lot of what you said!! OMG, I LOOOOVED Cindy vs Jane. Both women had a point and when Cindy slapped Jane, I was gasping and then when Jane yelled back that she only did it because Bobby is her only child because Cindy's son made her infertile... OMG!!! I gasped even more!! Amazing scene, great acting by both! I missed Laurie Brett so much ❤️ And then.... crying moment #1 when Bobby tells Jane she shouldn't have come back. Jane's heart was breaking and so was mine for her. Oh my.... But then when she finally speaks to him alone and he falls into her arms crying... crying moment #2!!!! Her face when he did that... dear God... and then I wept again when she gave him his present and he asked if he can see her again. Eeeeek!! Such great episodes full of great acting and moments. Also, Ian telling off Cindy was amazing! She really is such a bitch so I liked him telling her off. But then of course, I had to laugh out loud when he came back to her and she immediately started barking at him and he was the obedient Ian again lol I hope this is not it for Laurie Brett's return. They cannot give me such a tease and take it away right away!! Although it did seem like they wrapped it up perfectly. And with Bobby leaving soon, I guess there won't be any reason for her to visit again I wish she would. I love her. The rest of the storylines were okay. Anna's roofie storyline is fine, but I think it mostly there as a plot point to bring Freddie and Anna together. Which is fine, I like Freddie, I like Anna and Bobby is leaving anyway. Plus I never really dug Anna/Bobby as a couple. Lauren and Junior could be interesting. Maybe she will find out that he slept with Cindy! That would be fun. For Lauren to have something on Cindy! I hope they recast Peter. Thomas Law is not that good unfortunately.
  21. I dont think I have ever watched while was there, but I enjoy Cindy so it will be good to see them interact. I was thrilled to see back yesterday! Had no idea this return was happening. Love this!!
  22. Wow, these are awesome!! Thank you so much for sharig, @FrenchFan!!
  23. You have summarized it very well. Since I never really cared for this storyline much, I never really thought about it. But now seeing it written by you, it is really bad I hope they finish the storyline soon, send Reiss away (I realize that I never remember who to spell his name correctly lol) and give Sonia something better to do. And I really hope she doesn't end up pregnant with his child.
  24. The Mitchells have really made this past week a snoozefest for me. I do not care about the new people. I initially thought the three stooges were kind of villains, but now they seem to be all one happy family. I really don't care. The only thing I enjoyed was Billy trashing Phil. Other than that, I barely paid attention to their scenes. I enjoyed the steroids storyline. It was interesting thing to play out among young characters. I thought Denzel actor was also fine in it. I wonder where they go from here. Ah, I cannot get into Priya at all. I like her better than her annoying daughter, but I feel like they have no clue what to do with Priya. They seem to be bouncing her around the canvas between Ravi, Nish, Martin etc and nothing ever happens. I do like Ravi being featured more. And yes, indeed. Sonia/Reece storyline has also been a dud. It picked up with Bianca, but now it is another reason why this week has been so boring. And it has been going on for ages, I feel. I am ready for it to finish. The great and positive thing still remains the Yolande storyline. It was a really nice storyline, good pacing, great performances. But this is over now, I suppose.
