  1. While I do think the UK soaps (and US for that matter) are getting close to their endings, the British soap awards will apparently air in 2025 and were only cancelled for this year. https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/british-soap-awards-2024-cancelled-newsupdate/
  2. Oh most definitely I fully agree with all your points. It's just that I think people expected a lot from the UK this year, since it was announced that Olly Alexander would represent them. Even though this song is exactly something you'd hear from him. So not sure what everyone expected... maybe because he is such a huge fan of ESC, so maybe people expected something more ESC suitable (or at least maybe I did). Also, to be fair, I am not sure that many people will recognize Olly as someone who sang with Years&Years, but the fandom seems to think his name is so recognizable.
  3. I really enjoyed Lily in KOTFM. But I looved Emma in Poor Things. Whatever the Academy decides on this one is actually fine by me Actually for all the acting categories, I am pretty much in agreement. I keep going back and forth between Murphy and Giamatti. I loved both performances, but they are so different. I am fine with RDJ winning Supporting. I think the others were fine. I haven't seen American Fiction yet, so I cannot comment on Sterling (although I am sure he did awesome). DJR is a great actress and I loved her on The Holdovers. Haven't seen Color Purple, so I cannot speak about Danielle Brooks (who I only know from OITNB and she was one of my faves there), but all the other ladies while great are not really close to DJR. Looking forward to Nolan finally getting his first Oscar. Long overdue!! Next I want to see Denis Villeneuve win one, as I find him (and Nolan) to be the best directors of this generation.
  4. Croatia - my country, I am very happy with our song this year. And seems like others like it too, as it is currently 1st in the betting odds to win Even if we don't win (Switzerland I think might come for us, if done well live), I hope we make top 5 (or top 3 even).. We haven't been in top 5 since 1999 and we have never been top 3. So I hope for a good result. Cyprus - a typical pop song, sounds like something Britney would do in the 00s. I kind of like it, but there is so much competition on this genre this year, and Cyprus is in the first half of the first semi, so I worry if they can qualify. Maybe if she does a great show and has good dancing. Netherlands - it is really not my cup of tea. I get that it is supposed to have a nice message and all, but it is in Dutch, so I don't think the message will get through to people. San Marino - I didn't like Megara last year when they competed at Benidorm fest and I don't really like it this year either. But this year they don't have much competition in this genre, so maybe they can qualify. Also Spain is voting in their semi, so they might get votes from them. Switzerland - so great! I really like it. The changes in genres, from musical theater to opera to rap to drum and base and pop.. wow! The music video is awesome, so I wonder what they will do with the staging. If this sounds awesome live on stage, this will be a contender to win. UK - ah.. UK... again a basic pop song. I know that this is supposed to be the "British sound" and from what I see, all the Brits seems to be super happy with this. But this is so safe and generic. Olly has a nice voice and I hope he does a good staging, because that can make the song a bit more memorable. The song is nice and very radio friendly, I even listen to it. But I don't think this will make people to vote for it among 25 other songs.
  5. I am enjoying it quite a lot. But considering there are so many people that hate it, I guess it will all depend on what you like... BTW, if you are only interested in Denise scenes, she might be off screen for a bit. They way they rotate the characters, and the way she was shipped off to the hospital now, maybe this is a way for to give some rest to her. This is all my speculation, I don't follow casting news or spoilers, so I might be fully wrong lol
  6. Wow, Wednesday and Thursday.... heartbreaking, watching Denise crumble, while Jack, Chelsea, Amy and others round up around her. Great acting! And I really did not think the story would go in this direction in December. And I still have no idea where this is going. This is a serious thing for Denise, it cannot go away easily. So I am curious how they tackle this going forward. And on top of this, the knife is missing!!! Who took the knife?!
  7. Oh sure, the flashbacks were lovely. I really enjoyed them! Haha I can imagine that you can get used to it. For me it was really jarring especially in the pub scene, where I was even trying to decide if this was suppose to be music in the pub or is this show's background music. Oh sure, I get it. But still I felt a lot of could have been done a bit more natural.
  8. I haven't watched DAYS (or any US soaps) since Necktie killer. But I wanted to see this episode. And it was nice. It was nice to see some of those flashbacks. I even got teary eyed at some moments (like Lucas talking and remembering the Hortons). I liked Chad (forgot the actor's name lol). And it was my first time seeing Leo, he was alright. I used to love Greg Rikaart on Y&R, even though I thought he overstayed his welcome and once he was shoved down everyone's throat, I stopped caring. But he was okay here. Young Alice and Tom were alright, it was a nice thing to do. Although I would probably be confused as a regular viewer to have this kind of an episode which felt like some sort of special or anniversary episode and it is not. Some not so good aspects of the episode... my God, the music was horrible in some places. Like, the scene with John/Marlena/Roman/Kate at the pub... what was that music?! It did not suit the scene at all. And also I found the dialogue very weird in some places, very unnatural. But good on them for doing this, I am sure longtime fans will be happy. It was long overdue to have focus on the Hortons.
  9. Omg, Monday!!! Denise has really gone crazy!! 😮 Someone stole the murder weapon!! Omg!! Really good episode, I really squeeked at the ending haha George calling Cindy was very predictable. I liked Johnny/Linda talk as well as Stacey and Denise. Excited to watch what happens next!!
  10. Poland's entry is okay, but it is a pretty generic pop song. And even though I like it, I worry that it won't stand out. There are several generic pop songs this year with Denmark, Malta, Luxembourg and Germany. And apparently Cyprus, Georgia and Switzerland will send girl pop as well. So Poland will not stand out, I don't think. Luxembourg has the edge (imo) for being at least in French, while the rest are in English. Only way is to have a strong distinct visual on the stage that will pop out and make it memorable. Belgium is quite nice. I enjoy listening to it. The only issue I have is that once it finally reaches the climax, he keeps repeating the same thing over and over in the same tone and same way, so it gets annoying to me a bit. Otherwise I like the song.
  11. I loved Thursday's episode! So much happened... Jack ditching Denise to be with Stacey (heartbreaking ); George having that intense scene with Denzel while boxing, followed up with a confrontation with his mother; Johnny and Gina worked together to delete the recording from Dean, which lead to Linda cutting her hand and the frantic scrubbing of the floor to everyone's shock; Linda admitting to Johnny that she killed Keanu!!!! Performances were really good all around!
  12. I am looking forward to the ABBA mentions haha I live in Luxembourg for the past 10 years and I am super excited that Luxembourg is back!! I went to the Luxembourg Song Contest few weeks back and it was so awesome. Production was really good and it was a great show. Songs were a bit too generic, but okay. I hope Tali qualifies. It will suck if on their first year back, Luxembourg doesn't make the finals haha
  13. Loving Italy! My favorite so far!! I also enjoy France and Slovenia. As for who I dislike, it would Finland... I was all for Sara Siipola to win, but then we have... this...
  14. Kristian Alfonso's scream when she learns Zach died was chilling and best acting that I have seen from her.
  15. Really amazing episode! They really did explore so many angles. I did not realize that the man was George's father, so it was such a shock for me. I had chills when Gloria stormed in and George started to figure out the truth. Wow, awesome! Everyone did such a great job!!
  16. Thanks for the confirmation. I thought so. Shame.
  17. Ooh, new Johnny is hot!! Great acting by Kellie Bright since Christmas. I already pointed out Diane Parish, but Kellie has been great as well!! I never saw the character of Johnny before, so looking forward to see the dynamic between Johnny and Linda.
  18. Ok, then great! Looking forward to seeing more of his personality once Ben is gone. Since I only came back to EE last year and Callum and Ben were already together, I never got to see Callum alone.
  19. Indeed, and I have been enjoying every minute of Denise!! Maybe it is an unpopular opinion, but I find Callum boring lol So I was hoping he would leave with Ben
  20. Diane Parish has been awesome with this material.
  21. Omg, that final scene from Thursday... with Keanu's fingers on the wardrobe doors... freaky scary!!
  22. I am loving it too! There are some less interesting bits, but overall I find it very entertaining. Yes! Omg, I just watched the episode when Alfie pees himself in the pub. Heartbreaking!!! When Alfie breaks down in front of Linda, Shane RItchie is so good. And then few episodes later, Linda has her breakdown over seeing the photo of Mick's child (I assume) and Alfie is there for her. I am loving Nish as a villain! And the actor is playing him so good. How Nish is visiting the ladies and tortures them. I am really interested to see where this storyline is going. I mean, the show is not gonna let go all 6 of them, but at least one of them will have to go to jail at some point, I assume.. so Linda? And Denise is really breaking. They seem to be really into Stacey/Jack. I am not really a fan, but it seems to be a plot device to push Denise further into depression. Stacey and Jack are really shitty people. Dean and Gina storyline seems to have ended as abruptly as it started. I wonder what was the purpose and if this will come back in some way at some point.
  23. I fell behind again due to life... Watching last week now.. As much as I don't like the Mitchells, I did enjoy Sam revealing that Phil slept with Emma. And it broke up Kat and Phil. So yay! But wow.. this is how Kat gets involved in the Six storyline? By becoming friends with Nish? Did not see that coming. Lets see how that goes. I chuckled when Stacey and Jean were telling Kat: "But he's been in jail for murder"... and Kat just shot out: "So was Stacey" hahahah Still don't like Gina/Dean getting together EDIT: OMG, Dean just revealed in front of everyone that he and Gina are dating!
  24. Oh I loved him on Savannah!! Wow, I am shocked. RIP
