  1. Oh yeah, those sets would look really shitty nowadays. Didn't they already ruin the Capwell mansion set by 1993? I have a feeling like it shrank at some point already then. And SuBe would for sure lose all of its outdoor set and scenes. EDIT: Oh yes! Absolutely, Ashley would have matched Kam much better. I never liked her to be honest, so I would have preferred if we had Vanessa Dorman and Cibrian till the end. Vanessa was a bit green, but I'm sure she would have gotten better as the time went on. I had to google who George Hamilton is. I recognize him Did not know he was Ashley's father.
  2. Oh SB was much different for me. It was also a HUGE hit in Europe. And I enjoyed it a lot, in the early years. And you're right, both shows would have been shells of themselves by the 2000s. Santa Barbara already was in somewhat by its end. I couldn't even watch it. I actually loved the original opening BECAUSE it seemed to primetime-ish. And the Shockwave opening was cool, but it never aired in Europe. I guess it was only for the US market. I cannot imagine Cole Deschanel being so awesome if Ashley Hamilton continued in the role. He was very bland and lacked all the sexyness of Cibrian. Cibrian was a perfect Cole, the con-man, thief, lover and anti-hero.
  3. I got hooked to SuBe instantly. But I was a teenager and European, so as someone said, I guess it was suited more for the younger audiences and went better with Europeans than America. I adored the show, even though I found the 3rd year slow down to a painful pace, with a lot of repetition and dragging out stuff. I loved the Terror Island and Shockwave storylines. I still think Shockwave was one of the best disasters I've seen on soaps ever (probably followed by the tornado in AMC in 1995). I adored Annie and Bette, they are to this day some of my favorite characters in all soaps. And after the show ended, I was writing the SuBe continuation for 100 episodes which got published on this SuBe website. It was so fun to do way back when. However, I tried watching it from the start during COVID and I could not do it lol Oh also, I loved both openings. LOVED! The original one was so sultry, sexy, soapy. My God.. everyone was so gorgeous in it. The second one, I love the theme so much. The visuals were less interesting to me, but I still loved it overall. You could be right. Because later on when they switch Ashley Hamilton with Eddie Cibrian they also update Adrienne Frantz's picture for some reason. I think she's the only one that gets a change in this original opening. Or maybe they change her later on in the year and not exactly at the same time when the added Cibrian, but I always thought it was interesting how she got that update, considering she wasn't even there for the full year. Speaking of the openings now, I went to YouTube to watch them and oh my God, those tunes bring back to many memories and take me back to such a nicer simpler times. I got chills and almost started crying.. it's ridiculous. Those tunes will forever make me smile.
  4. Omg, yes to Bernie and Nish!! Bernie is such a non-entity. If she didn't learn the truth, the show would be the same. There was no impact on the story whatsoever with her finding out who killed her brother (aside from her telling Eve, which could have been done any other way). That is such a let down. And Suki watching Nish die with a drink in her hand was such an awesome move and should have been the ending to that storyline. I hated Nish and Suki's pretending to be a happy family and then Nish confessing to killing Keanu and now this silly plot point. I am curious what Nish will do, because the only way this works for me is if we get some real fireworks and maybe Eve dies. I am bored of Eve and that would at least have some lasting consequences. I really loved the show when I came back last year, but now the last few months really is just fine in between the superfun return weeks (I adored Jane week and David week and Bianca has been fun). The crush was great, but I hated the aftermath. An I'm just not into the Cindy/Junior affair. Lauren has been so obnoxious. An Cindy is a terrible person. Looking forward to her downfall. I really liked learning about Elaine's history, that was interesting.
  5. No, they havent hint or mention Zoe so far. But maybe down the lines as we get closer to the 40th.. because seems the Christmas and New Year will be centered around other characters, not so much Kat.
  6. Thank you as always for including me! Lovely treat! I will try and watch it this week
  7. What is this netflix soap? Lets set it up please! I need more details
  8. Good job, @will81!! I thought it would have started off with a higher rating and then dropped off. Thanks @jason47 ! It's fun seeing these old ratings
  9. I will guess it was somewhere around the middle. So 20th?
  10. Lets guess.. 6.5
  11. Yay, these are so interesting to see!! Wow, Somerset was doing terribly. Thank you, as always, Jason!!
  12. As someone who hasn't watched DAYS for more than a decade, I have to say, this promo even looks... okay? Great to see Hope, Jennifer and Sami.. and Carrie! Never cared about MM's Belle. Nor BB's Shawn. I never understood why they always kept them, but never really used them. Why no one ever tried to recast once again? Are they already writing in Drake's death? Wow. I mean, I know it's 10 years in the future due to their shooting schedule, but still... And I am intrigued that Johnny learns the truth about EJ raping Sami. Seeing as I was watching back then when it actually happened and don't remember it being called a rape (even though it was most certainly was), it's interested they decided to do it now.
  13. Yeah itnwas nice to have him on, even for a week. Especially after having watched today's episode, the quality was jarring lol I miss David already lol I gasped when that happened! I kept expecting him to do something to Kat, but I did not expect that punch in the face. only good thing was that he did look somewhat regretful, so maybe he can be saved?
  14. Oh wow! You're doing great I am assuming not all the episodes are available though, no? Btw, I saw today's episode now
  15. I started watching 1985 episodes recently, so I will see how it goes with these original characters
  16. Yeah, it was much needed. Junior and Cindy's affair was getting really repetitive and kinda boring. So it was a nice change of pace this week with David getting involved. I didn't see today's episode yet, but I am looking forward to see the continuation of the Wednesday cliffhanger. I wish David was staying longer, I would have been more invested in his character. But he was really fun as a character.
  17. Yesterday's episode was def fun, but I am sure fans who actually watched David/Cindy story unfold were enjoying it more than me. For me, I like David as a character, but knowing he's only here for like a week is hard for me to get attached lol But still, the ending with the proposal and all FOUR of Cindy's men there was really campy and soapy and fun
  18. Didnt they change the last name Jackson into Dupree? Or did I mix it up? Here they mention Jackson again.
  19. Omg, what news to wake up to. I stopped watching Days long time ago, and John was never my favorite character, but there is no denying that Drake was such a charming person, and John was such a lovable guy. I am sure it was Drake real personality that was seeping through into the character of John. RIP Drake. Salem has really lost a big one.
  20. Those are all great points. I hope we don't lose any of them. I especially don't want to see Phil, the gangster nor do I want to lose Yolande or Denise. Love those ladies!! I see. I don't like dark all the time, so I hope he will not take EE in that direction But lets see and hope for the best.
  21. I am glad to hear someone say that they liked what Wadely did on HC!! Do you watch Hollyoaks maybe? Isn't he some producer there as well at the moment? LoL that's for sure I came back 1.5 years ago. I just heard some good comments online about EE. So I guess it's also due to Clenshaw. I will def miss him. I have been enjoying the show in these last year and a half (for the most part).
  22. I wasn't as shocked because I was prepared by everyone at Walford Web message boards, where everyone was talking for weeks that this is coming up because "no producers stays more than 3 years with the show". I was hoping it would be different with Clenshaw, but sadly no. I hope Wadey will be good for the show too.
  23. Makes me sad. I've been enjoying the show so much. I hope the new producer will be equally good or better (Clenshaw was not perfect, so there is def room for Wadey to improve )
  24. I hope so too!! Oh Roya really is a firecracker! And she was perfect cast for Ava. Perry Stephens is such a classic soap hunk. When I think of 80s/90s soap hunks, that him right there. Perfect hair, nice jaw, beautiful face... Another one I always think of in this category: Thorne #1 from B&B (actor's name escapes me now... I remember seeing his pic in the 90s in the news papers when B&B was starting in my country and I was like omg! :D) We should start a topic on the soap hunk who sometimes wore beards I do think Noelle got better later, because I don't remember disliking her in later years which I watched back when I air in my country. I kinda liked Trisha and Steve back then before he died. And you're right she does have sincerity in her acting. She's also very well cast in the role of this young soap ingenue.
  25. Oh thank you so much for thinking of me always Wow those 1985 episodes were overdramatic, weren't they? Roya was such a Scarlet O'Hara in that scene with Jack, I love it and I love her Noelle was really BAD in that scene when Gwyn tell her that Cabot had a stroke. Her facial expression from "Is it Daddy?" to learning it was Cabot does not change at all I don't know if I have ever seen Jack with facial hair. I like it. He looks sexy And I love Christine Tudor. I don't understand why she never ended up on another soap opera. And I love seeing James Kiberd as Mike. I have always loved him as Trevor on AMC and I have seen very little of him as Mike on Loving. And the 1983... Jack is so cute... as is Chris Marcantel. But this episode I think I have seen before. I remember seeing the shirtless Curtis with the girls
