In this era of TikTok and Spotify, is the Billboard Hot 100 even relevant anymore?

Fall 1994 through to the beginning of 1996 was when Nick and Sharon ate the show. I remember JC ranting to the soap press in that period about her lack of story, the focus on the younger cast members, and the male backside scenes. If I only I could find her interviews from that period.

There was the courthouse fight with Jill during the John/Jill divorce and custody battle.

Was Y&R head-to-head with Oprah and/or Days in Seattle at that time? I don't think Y&R was attracting the kids after school in 1995-1997 as that was the height of Reilly Sci-Fi Days. Imagine if a city had a 4 pm/3 pm head-to-head lineup of Y&R, Days, Oprah. Edited to add: I found another 1980s listing for Seattle. @soapfan770 So B&B from 1987-1994 was too scandalous and shocking but the rest of the CBS lineup wasn't? B&B was exported to countries that many would think are religious/conservative (ie. Israel, Egypt, Turkey, India). IMO KIRO just didn't want to give up their 1 hour noon news. Given what we know about ABC Daytime being big in the Northeast and West Coast, Seattle probably fits more as an ABC town anyway.

@soapfan770 It looks like CBS allowed two different February 4, 1980-June 5, 1981 schedules for their Central/Mountain/Pacific affiliates. As we all know, ABC had a huge rise in the late 1970s and that seemed to really shake up CBS, thus the time slot changes in 1980 and 1981. Every year EB was nominated (1987, 1990, 1996-2000, 2004) the Lead Actor races were tough. Yes he should've won more Emmys than the one he has.

PB's clip on the 1992 Daytime Emmy broadcast was a scene in the ranch living room where Jack yells at Nikki about her drinking. I'm still not riveted. Yes, both 1991 and 1992 Lead Actor races were weak.

I wasn't riveted by the Jack scenes in today's show. Like I said before, PB's first two Emmy wins were the result of IMO weak competition in the Lead Actor races. Dina later gets exposed for lying about an illness when she was really broke but she would return in 1996 as we saw during the Nick/Sharon wedding repeat. I remember her 1996 return there was a rewrite that she left because John's secretary made Dina believe John was cheating on Dina with the secretary. I wonder if the 1994 episodes will cut scenes from the Vietnam story. That also went against previously established history. From what I remember of the Vietnam story, Jack mentioned he was 20 years old in 1972 when he left Vietnam. When Dina arrived in 1983, it was mentioned she abandoned the family 12 years earlier. Putting together the established history and rewrite, Jack would've have been in Vietnam when Dina abandoned the family.

That was all around the same time, 1995/1996.

That was the clip shown in the 1998 Daytime Emmy broadcast. 1998 Lead Actor race was Peter Bergman, Eric Braeden, David Canary, Anthony Geary, Kin Shriner. The episode for PB that was shown on the broadcast was Jack confronting Diane about being involved with Victor; I don't know what the second episode was.

Australia must not have been that far behind if they are also airing repeats. From that French site Soap Passion, the last episode aired in Switzerland was on May 1 (CBS airdate January 30) and no indication of any episodes broadcast there after May 4. France is airing episodes from March 2019 and Luxembourg is airing episodes from May 2019.

If that's the case, then next Thursday and Friday could be their weddings. On to today's classic. First half of 1997 was not among Y&R's finest hours. I was happy to see EB's Emmy winning episode though. The clip that was shown on the 1998 Daytime Emmy broadcast was Victor confronting Jack about the Dennison deal.

The younger categories didn't have an age limit until 1989 when it was set at 21; the age limit was raised to 26 in 1991. In the years where there was no age limit in the younger categories, there were nominees like Debbi Morgan (1986 at age 29) and Andrea Evans (1988 at age 31).

1984 is when Y&R became Y&R as we know it today. To think this episode was before the eternal quadrangle and eternal feud began.

Cricket was only part of the summer storylines then. It got worse when she became a full time cast member. Maybe next week's theme is parties. Monday could be Sharon's birthday, Tuesday Christine's bridal shower, Wednesday-Friday TBD.

I have a feeling September 21, 1994 was the first episode of either Sharon Case or Michelle Stafford. Perhaps the week of June 29-July 3 is first episodes.

Same here. From what I've seen of that year, that's really when Y&R became Y&R as we know it today.
