  1. So far this week was 1991 (Monday), 2003 (Tuesday and Wednesday). Thursday is 2005, Friday is 2010. Based on episode numbers on Global's schedule, next week is 1991 (Monday), 1999 (Tuesday), 2001 (Wednesday), 2006 (Thursday).
  2. @titan1978 I meant in the sense that both of them had their careers handed to them by their fathers. To Lauralee's credit, she didn't go off the rails after Bill Bell's passing the way Tori has since Aaron Spelling passed.
  3. Lauralee Bell is the daytime equivalent of Tori Spelling.
  4. @BoldRestless @YRfan23 Besides the Masquerade Ball, the rest of the villain selections are not interesting. In a way, maybe it's good that they're not dipping into the 1980s/1990s as much as those episodes would be butchered for commercial time.
  5. Justin Bieber now has 6 Billboard Hot 100 #1s. He has more #1s than Prince. Think about that for a second.
  6. Shemar was nominated for Hottest Male Star at the 1998 and 1999 SOD awards and lost to Ingo Rademacher in 1998 and Steve Burton in 1999. WTF? No way were those guys hotter than Shemar.
  7. I would guess Y&R's Black audience first came on board in the mid-1980s during the Jazz/Tyrone/Amy/Nathan era, then the Black audience was really cemented when Shemar arrived. Bill Bell used elements of the Jackson brothers 10 years later with the Winters brothers. Jazz and Tyrone's first scenes together are quite similar to Malcolm and Neil's first scenes together.
  8. Shemar wasn't the best actor when he started but damn he was hot AF 🤤 🥰. No wonder he got shirtless scenes every week during his first three years 😂 Once Shemar arrived, he overshadowed every other daytime drama's Black male cast members, and all the Black male actors that the other daytime dramas hired afterwards. Even Y&R has tried to clone Shemar over the last two decades but those attempts have been an epic failure.
  9. Also on Y&R, Tyrone and Jazz. Having seen some of Dru's early episodes again, I remember how shocked I was to find out that Victoria Rowell was almost 31 years old when she started on Y&R. I think Dru was introduced as a 19 or 20 year old that ran away from home as a young teen.
  10. Aww, Dru and Neil are so young and cute here. Tomorrow is Shemar's first episode 🤤🥰
  11. I'm surprised that CK said positive things about VR. Perhaps their beef has been squashed.
  12. Remember Shemar's 2014 return where Malcolm acted like he was gone for 10 years? It was an attempt to wipe out the Eddie Winslow years.
  13. Beverlee McKinsey not getting a Lead Actress nomination for GL is the most egregious error by the Daytime Emmys. She could've easily won in 1991, 1992, 1993 as the Lead Actress races in those years were rather weak. Maureen Garrett was nominated for Supporting Actress in 1991, 1992, 1994 but the competition for Supporting Actress in those years was tough.
  14. Ryan and Malcolm had shirtless shots in the closing credits I think. Brad taking his shirt off in the 1988 opening was cheesy though.
  15. Forget everyone else, the second half of the 1990s and early 2000s was all about Shemar. No matter how much Y&R tried to make them happen, the others of that era couldn't hold a candle to the hotness of Shemar.
  16. Thank you for posting this. Even though I wasn't watching GL live at that time, I was so happy when Michael Zaslow got his long-awaited for Lead Actor Daytime Emmy. He really should have won more than one Lead Actor Daytime Emmy. His work in the early 1990s was amazing to watch and I'm so glad I got to see his best work either live or online. He wasn't nominated in 1991 but should have been for the Acapulco episodes, and I also think he was robbed in 1992 for the country club episodes and 1993 for the episode where Roger confesses to Holly that he still loves her. Michael's 1992 Lead Actor nomination was also GL's first in the Lead Actor category. Is there any truth to the rumor that someone at P&G messed up Michael's 1992 and/or 1993 submissions thus the losses.
  17. You don't begin to understand the power of Victor Newman. I WILL CRUSH YOU! Skipping tomorrow's 2014 episode.
  18. I skipped today. Can't wait to see "I WILL CRUSH YOU!" again.
  19. Michelle Forbes was gone by the end of 1989; I think November or December was her last episode.
  20. I guess we'll know by the end of the week which other Neil episodes will air. I doubt we'll see Neil and Dru's 1993 and 2003 weddings but I think we might see KSJ's last episode.
  21. Robert Calhoun came on in June 1989, the Sonni/Solita story was over by then.
  22. Maybe Douglas was referring to Jack learning about Victor being alive. Once again, poor editing and the episode doesn't flow well. I'll be skipping tomorrow but Thursday is "I WILL CRUSH YOU!"
  23. @Soapsuds The frat party started about 8 months after this episode 😄 I thought today's was going to be the episode where Victor reveals that he's alive to the group at the Colonnade Room, instead it's the episode where he reunites with Victoria and Nicholas then reveal he's alive to Jack.
  24. You'd think the Chancellor Estate would have a full staff but we only ever saw Esther. No other cooks, cleaners, groundskeepers, etc. That attic was grime time but it only made the fight more epic hahaha. Can't wait for tomorrow's 1993 episode, I think that week was one of Y&R's highest ratings ever. Also later in the week "I will crush you".
  25. JW won Lead Actress in 1997; I think she submitted episodes where Jill was a suspect in Victor's shooting. The Chancellor estate party was September 1998. Jeanne Cooper got a Lead Actress nomination in 1999 for the Chancellor estate battle story. Victor and Nikki had four weddings that I remember: Colonnade Room 1984, Genoa City Memorial Hospital 1998, Colonnade Room 2002, Newman Ranch 2013.
