Yes I always thought Ashley was a Lorie/Leslie hybrid. He seemed to love her (character) in the same way he did Lorie and Leslie too.

Bill Bell also reused Peggy's relationship with her college professor storyline for Traci. Chris Brooks's storylines were reused for B&B's Caroline.

The acting seems solid and the patients and "Brett" all seem terrible, but did they have to make the one black character seem so overtly aggressive? She was bordering on terrorizing Leslie!. Just oof.

1987 Ashley's psychiatric hospital also had an aggressive Black patient.

  2. @ironlion @ChickenNuggetz92 @DramatistDreamer For whatever reason, Bill Bell let EB use his natural German accent instead of adopting an American accent but BB also didn't factor in EB's heritage into Victor's backstory. I remember a 1984 scene where Lorie compared Victor and Nikki's upcoming marriage as "Berlin meets Las Vegas", that was probably the only time I can think of that EB's heritage was worked into the story.

  3. Cardi B is the 17th female solo artist to reach 5 #1s on the Billboard Hot 100.  When all artists are counted, Cardi B is the 44th artist to reach 5 #1s on the Billboard Hot 100.

Cardi B is also the first female rapper to reach 5 #1s on the Billboard Hot 100 and the fifth rapper overall to reach 5 #1s on the Billboard Hot 100. The rappers with 5 or more #1s on the Billboard Hot 100 are Drake (8), Diddy (5), Ludacris (5), Eminem (5), Cardi B (5).

It is ironic we are talking about this today because this is the 16th anniversary of AH's debut as Vicky in 2005. She has played the character for SIXTEEN years (vs 13 for HT). I can't wrap my head around it. I can count the number of stories of Victoria as played by AH that I remember and cared about on the fingers of one hand.

Also this September, Heather Tom will have been Katie for longer than she was Victoria.

Does anyone know who else was up for the role of Victoria in 2005? I know Carrie Genzel (Skye # 3 on AMC) was a contender. Sally Sussman and Kay Alden were the only ones who was able to write her as Victoria with strength which made me take notice of her in a scene when she was going off on Juliet in that tiny Brash & Sassy set. Although, I wasn't keen on them writing her as a "Suburban Soccer Mom" who couldn't balance motherhood and business. I'm like you have five-hundred-million dollars go hire nannies for each child.

Some soap names I read that were considered for 2005 Victoria recast were Sarah Brown and Christie Clark.

April 1997 with a week full of the eps  is up in the Vault, boy with the 4/11/97 it certainly is attack of recasts with Sarah Aldrich, Sandra Nelson, and Sherri Shattuck all being heavily featured in the episode. Of the three Nelson is by far and beyond the best of course; Sarah Aldrich is dreadful in her scenes with Ryan, while Ashley is the stuck in the depths of hell with a triangle between her, Kurt, and Hope developing.

Hopefully the rest of the week gets better lol.

You forgot Jennifer Gareis in your recast list.

The rest of the spring doesn't get better LOL. First half of 1997 was a lull and Y&R almost lost #1 to Reilly's Days in late June. Things pick up during the second half of 1997 with Malcolm and Olivia wedding, a drunk Nick unknowingly sleeps with Grace, Daniel's paternity reveal leading to Danny and Phyllis divorce and custody battle, Victor and Diane wedding, arrival of Veronica, Heather Tom returns as Victoria and Victoria catches Cole with Ashley, Phyllis and Michael become friends with benefits. I think that covers the main storylines.

  6. If we do not count Elvis Presley's 11 Pre-Billboard Hot 100 #1s, Drake is 6th male solo artist to reach 8 #1s on the Billboard Hot 100. The male solo artists with 8 or more #1s on the Billboard Hot 100 are Michael Jackson (13), Stevie Wonder (10), Elton John (9), Usher (9), George Michael (8), Drake (8).

If we do not count Elvis Presley's 11 Pre-Billboard Hot 100 #1s, Drake is the 16th artist to reach 8 #1s.

Drake is the 7th artist not from the United States to reach 8 #1s on the Billboard Hot 100. The artists not from the United States with 8 or more #1s on the Billboard Hot 100 are The Beatles (20), Rihanna (14), The Bee Gees (9), Elton John (9), The Rolling Stones (8), George Michael (8), Drake (8).

Drake cements his record as the Canadian artist with most #1s on the Billboard Hot 100.

Had this been a few years ago I could see them totally casting someone like Sarah Brown, Jamie Luner or Terri Conn in the role. (Except for MAB who probably would have cast Tracey Gold lol).

MAB also loved ABC leftovers as well as former sitcom stars.

I was thinking about it. Wouldn't it have been better if Mai was older and replaced Amy in the Sharon/Nick/Matt story and linked Luan (who I think should have been with John) into the Newman story and thus Jack and Keemo as well. Keemo already hates his half brother Jack because Luan (instead of Mamie) tells everyone she and John were lovers after his stroke and no one believes her, and now Mai has a nervous breakdown and goes missing. Pulling them all in to the one story while also giving them their own stuff to deal with. Adding more tension to the Jack/Keemo/Mari-Jo story which should have been the triangle that was a main focus

So instead of the Vietnam rewrite, you would have had Keemo be John's son? Keemo's birth year was established as 1972 and Dina abandoned the family in 1971 so the timeline works. John in his devastation over Dina's abandonment turns to Luan, resulting in Keemo.
