I LOVED Herman's Head- was just talking about it recently in fact. Another gem of early FOX days- Get A Life! with Chris Elliot. That sitcom embodied his odd sense of humor more than anything else he's ever done. I remember he used to die at the end of every episode, at least in the early eps. Roscoe Born- Actually, Santa Barbara was my 2nd soap originally, I was on Ryan's Hope prior to being cast on SB. SONBC- But this is 'RTSB.' It's not your mother's 'Santa Barbara.' Roscoe Born- My mother actually was more of a P&G soap fan- As The World Turns and Guiding Light were her favorites. But I know what you mean. However, the writing is brilliant, there are surprises abound and I get to work with the incomparable Marcy Walker again. SONBC- Yes, but for how long. Roscoe Born- Well, you know how Greg operates. I'm not at liberty to say. What I can tell you is that the late start is all Marcy's fault. SONBC- Trouble in paradise? On set difficulties already?" Roscoe Born- Nothing like that. She had prior commitments to her church that Greg graciously agreed to work around. He considered an emergency recast, but in the end, the decision was made to delay the premiere and the shooting of the premiere until Marcy was available. Shooting has been a bit hectic, working around her church schedule but everyone at 'RTSB' agrees that accommodating that request in order to have Marcy is well worth it. SONBC- So can you give us a definite premiere date? Are you gonna be around a while? Roscoe Born- The answer to both of those questions is this- stay tuned!!! SONBC- You have to give us something Roscoe, more than that. Roscoe Born- I've been lucky enough to receive 'Special Guest Star' billing. I've been told we'll be on air sometime in August, but that remains to be seen. But I can tell you Marcy started shooting this week and you're not gonna want to miss a minute!

Santa Barbara was everything a soap should be and more. I'm proud to announce that I will be continuing my blog and picking up right where I left off. "Return to Santa Barbara" will return..... Soon. Took me long enough to read it but I finally did. Interesting concept- interesting which characters you chose to do what. Who is Walker Lockridge anyway? How is he related to the Lockridges- his parents are....?!?

I'm just glad ATL started as Dallas is ending. OC is not doing it for me this year. The only enjoyable part of it is watching Peggy be a straight up bitch to all of them. Anyone else catch her referring to Megan as a giraffe this week?!?

SO weird!!! I just yesterday went and started re-reading this thread from the beginning! It was fun reading the reactions to Scary Island as it originally aired- too bad the thread hadn't quite caught fire yet because only a few people posted about it.

I think he meant 1 hour for RHOA and then another hour for Xscape.

Marcy gained weight toward the end of her AMC run, no question. It didn't help that they started dressing her positively frumpy in the 2000s. I remember when they showed flashbacks in her initial last episode, it was glaring how differently they dressed her in the 90s vs. the 2000s.

I LOVE AWHP- always have! When AW was on SoapNet, I used it to research certain episodes I didn't want to miss and figure out when they would air.

That she was for the first year or so- AND that of the entire cast over the years, she is the one that SB launched into legitimate stardom. It's actually a very telling story for actors that consider soaps to be a "training ground." With all of the cast turnover in those 9 years, SB only launched one actual star. Sure some actors that left did get work in other mediums, but the ratio when you factor in the ones that left to pursue greener pastures doesn't bode well for leaving a soap for fame and fortune.

That whole oh-so-80s ending sequence is everything!!! Just watching that 3 minutes makes me want to watch the show and know more!!! I want to know why Evie wasn't asked to be in the shoot, why she's pissed about, if the blonde guy who gets his passport stamped is Estelle's son or her lover, is that guy for real with that beard, why is he holding Estelle captive, is the airport part of the compound, is the entire nation on the bearded guy's payroll........ so much!!!! Wonder if someone posted the next episode... Gosh I'd forgotten what a great group of women SFT had in those days. I loved Suzy, Liza (Sherry Mathis), and Sunny, but Jo, Estelle, Stephanie, Wendy- I really like each character for who they are and find them compelling to watch, even all these years later. My memories of Search are few and far between, as I only watched it from age 3-7, but going back, I can see why certain things stuck with me. I wish Wendy had, especially since I've been told stories about how angry I was at Wendy for sleeping with Warren while he was married to Suzy. I believe that's why I often think of the Suzy that came before this one with such affection. Though I really love the actress playing Suzy in these years now and think of her as Suzy, I remember that as a child, I didn't feel the same way about her. I always missed MY Suzy.

I think you're remembering it wrong- I'm positive Ana wasn't at that party. I've viewed it many times. She even pats herself on the back for staying home, saying something along the lines of it not being her scene.

Ok I love the photo shoot, but can someone answer the following questions for me- Who is Colleen Dion playing? I always thought her first role was Cece on Loving. What is going on with Estelle in the final sequence?
