  1. How I wish that NBC/Peacock wasn't so damned cheap and would air classic Days episodes until the new writers' stuff kicks in. Because what the viewers are getting now is utter trash.
  2. Thinking this is supposed to read 1945, given his age? Same age as my dad [who recently passed himself], if so. May Mr. French rest in peace.
  3. I liked the 1991 revival of Dark Shadows! My grandmother was totally into the original daytime version, but it was nice to see what it was all about while re-introducing the story to the masses in prime time. If I recall, I read somewhere that - before the Gulf War and constant interruptions - that version was slowly gaining traction numbers wise. But then came that Gulf War, momentum was lost, and...that was it. And it was nice to see some former daytime stars [Michael T. Weiss, Joanna Going] and up-and-comers [young Joseph Gordon Levitt] in those iconic roles. A few years back, I came across an unsold early 2000s pilot for yet another revival of the show on YouTube - and IMO only, it made the 1991 version look Oscar worthy. Perhaps, for such a series, the law of diminishing returns applies with the constant re-imaginings...
  4. THIS. Continuously impressed.
  5. Macgruder and Loud, 1985. I remember as a pre-teen the huge ad push that got, and it tanked.
  6. I'm still rooting for the McDonald's and KFC...
  7. I loathe what Brian Frons did at ABC. But I do have ONE fond memory of him: When VP of Daytime at NBC, he made a cameo on Santa Barbara as God (yes) when Mason Capwell went to heaven in 1989 (and Joe Marinelli [who played mobster Bunny Tagliati] played Joan Crawford as his receptionist and he reunited with Mary Duvall (whose hair had grown very long in heaven!) before reuniting with Julia once he woke up. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1229694630516985
  8. I'm still pissed at PM being shoved out. It seemed like he had plans and was willing/hoping to shake things up. But no, can't have that. So, GH is forever bland oatmeal.
  9. I cannot believe this Body & Soul crap is STILL going on. If there's a silver lining, at least this garbage got Ron fired. But shooting so far in advance makes it almost impossible to scrap cow dung like this. And that's a huge problem.
  10. Well, with Dump pulling the US out of the World Health Organization, the million plus dead from COVID in his FIRST disastrous term may look like the good old days. I mean, who needs health guidance and warnings with deadly bird flu swarming! I wish every bit of fuckery coming could just be confined to the cult...
  11. Well, NBC got its ratings revenge for the next two subsequent decades, so it all balanced out!
  12. As I said in the trailer thread: I like everyone cast in this soap. And I like that it has diversity. I'm just afraid in the current climate, with current push back against said diversity and resentment towards the wealthy (hello, Luigi Mangione!) that this is not the most opportune time for a soap surrounding both. But I sincerely hope against hope that it thrives. Daytime needs a resurgence.

  14. Oh, yay! A sexual abuser and alcoholic [that's Pete Hegseth, whose OWN MOTHER called him out!] is now the Secretary of Defense. What could POSSIBLY go wrong there?!
  15. Is Patti LuPone slumming? (Sorry, I hate AJLT. It actually ruined SATC for me.)
  16. I LOVED the pissy look on Boris and Natasha's sour, ugly faces. It gave me joy.
  17. Melania is just as disgusting as her felon hubby. She's no victim. I will say people should start carrying duck call thingies. Because, even on day #1, this is a lame-duck presidency. (Yes, I realize the GQP and Dump will likely try to change that, BUT three-quarters of Congress is required to appeal and Amendment. And when (because he will) he tries another 1/6, I still think there are enough American (read: not Trump) loyalists that will drive his ass out again. But it will be violent.)
  18. Someone on Bluesky said she was honoring the McDonald's Hamburglar. LOL!
  19. I left X-crement the day after the election. I miss it not at all! Bluesky has filled the void nicely - and completely. I didn't watch a bit of the Felon Follies today. And speaking of Felon, Rolling Stone keeps it real with its headline chronicling today's travesty, at the link: https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/donald-trump-sworn-in-47th-president-united-states-1235241770/#recipient_hashed=41eb6758af709f24ec201d5d77a47d415fdc1497510a5e134f8241bca1e2c3b9&recipient_salt=503b292510c0398f40e5a0b07969a3f22bc641853947c43b3315f759b85225a8
  20. Can't wait to not watch! The Yule Log on Roku (still there!) or watching soap scum form on my shower curtain are more appealing alternatives...
  21. Why the hell is Kristen still around?! I'm sure Stacy Haiduk is a lovely person, but Kristen is LONG past her expiration date, like twenty YEARS past... And Bonnie...who cares? Unless it's somehow discovered she's a brainwashed Adrienne...
  22. Considering the crumbs of casting news already leaked, don't hold your breath. Stupidity reigns, no matter who is in charge, apparently.
  23. Yes! For the relatively short time the pairing was on GH, the "good" writers did write Robin/Patrick in the vein of the old supercouples, and even in that brief time, they had a lot of obstacles - internal and external - thrown their way. Honestly (and I know I may be biased as a fan of the couple), I think Robin/Patrick were the last to be written by that formula. Not to say there aren't popular couples (although I find most of the current crop boring), but the writing is missing that "big" quality. Although - even if I'm not a fan - I know many love Liz/Jason and/or Liz/Ric, too. So, perhaps an element of subjective feelings plays a role, too, even if just a little. As an example, I loved original Zander/Emily (Amber Tamblyn) back in the day, but even I don't think they'd be classified as a supercouple. (And considering how the show s-h-i-t on them for Nik/Emily once Emily was recast, neither did the show itself, apparently.) Conversely, I was/am also a big fan of Mason/Julia from Santa Barbara and think they do qualify with everything they had to endure. Cliff/Nina, my first 'ship at 8-years-old (ha!) from AMC...well, I think they came just before the "supercouple" trend, but they may qualify, too...
  24. Per a new article, Kathleen Noone, was recently at the Hollywood Show in Burbank, where she met with fans. An article talks about that and her role as Claudia Whittaker on Knots Landing, and also touches upon her other soap roles. https://www.remindmagazine.com/article/24442/knots-landing-all-my-children-kathleen-noone-hollywood-show-2025/
  25. I was surprised to read this news, although I don't understand why, considering the rumors regarding Ms. Charleson's health. She, along with Stuart Damon, made the Qs highly entertaining - even if putting the 'fun' in dysfunctional. May Leslie Charleson rest in peace. As for the Q mansion, by rights, Tracy or Ned should get it, but we'll see, I suppose.
