  1. Firing Susan Sullivan wasn’t worth it though as Lauren was so pointless and just wasn’t interesting as a character. On the flip side that season did have the far more interesting femme fatale character of Genele, although that character was a bit ahead of her time and never like a Falcon Crest, let alone any 80’s primetime soap character at all.
  2. Way overdue or way too late? The Killing Pool was the last classic story of the 90’s and I loved Edmund and Susan at the time, but their story ended with ED leaving of course. I didn’t think we’d ever seen Edmund again.
  3. Thanks for sharing. Always found Wendy to be an underrated and warm actress however I feel like she essentially played the same variation of character on each of her biggest shows (A Year in the Life, Falcon Crest, Homefront, Promised Land). Of course the biggest issue on Falcon Crest wasn’t Wendy herself but the simple fact her character was basically a thankless Maggie clone at a time when we needed the real Maggie.
  4. If Newman was a real company I would be highly concerned with all the constant CEO swapping going on lol. Once again the highlight of the week for was Audra moving her moves, this time discarding Kyle like yesterday’s old newspaper. But I have a feeling we’re far from seeing the end of Kyle and Audra just a yet. The writers strike essentially made JG (who already was a very lazy writer) a one man show and the constant flashbacks have been occurring since the strike material hit the air. What makes these recent flashbacks odd is them being shown in some faux art house black and white style form. Ridiculous indeed as I haven’t seen this many flashbacks since the Reilly 2.0 era at Days. The Y&R writing staff had been hacked down to the bare minimum right before the strike, so we’re probably stuck with.
  5. Wow I haven’t heard Wendy Fishman’s name in years until the other day when she did a recent interview, and now I’m seeing it twice lol. Here’s Fishman’s interview, she only mentions working on GL briefly: https://canvasrebel.com/meet-wendy-fishman/
  6. Chance and Summer have chemistry but yeah hate that it’s at the expense of Sharon all over again too. Shades of the Sharon/Abby rivalry over Scott a few years back. My guess is Sharon is headed back to Shick. It would be a lot more interesting for Summer to go toe to toe with either Audra or Sally over Chance than to see this.
  7. I hadn’t want to touch the subject myself but you’re correct and absolutely right in pointing it out and now in retrospect some of us, including myself were harsh on Miller’s portrayal to the extreme. The MAB era came at time when every single soap was imploding and all the soap fans were wilding it, especially because we were also subjected to the lovely opinions of folks like Daniel Coleridge and Nelson Branco constantly dropped their opinion as well.
  8. This was one of Miller’s Emmy reels:
  9. Wow this is a complete and total shock! With Miller being around my age well it reminds me of my own mortality. May he RIP indeed! Well said Carl as this fits my sentiments as well. Definitely for myself I think Miller’s best work as Billy was that first year and he certainly was always memorable. Unfortunately the MAB/Sheffer/Hamner/Rauch crap just took its toll on everything and destroyed the show alive. I was actually surprised he didn’t return to Y&R as Billy at some point after leaving Y&R. Oddly I still remember a Jess Walton interview a few years back she mentioned she enjoyed working with Tom, Brown, Jenkins, and Thompson as Billy, but zero mention of Miller. I wonder what happened there. I feel bad his attempts to have an acting career outside of daytime never took off despite being gone every pilot season—his thankless roles on Ringer and Suits just went nowhere and I believe I last saw him on The Rookie in a guest spot a couple years back.
  10. @Vee I only watched a few minutes just for the Blair scenes out of curiosity. Unfortunately as soon as she mentioned Jack having money problems I got painful memories of Andrew Trischitta’s bad acting which I thought had blocked.
  11. LMAO Ginge’s scenes apparently got pre-emoted in like half the country today 🤣🤣🤣
  12. Not much happened lol. Thudley’s son Ginge scenes got preempted LMAO and while RJ discovered Luna’s social media accounts are set to very private and he told her he liked the mystery.
  13. In a way I how Audra was the shark swimming in the water and went after the wounded Tucker and slept with him again on her own terms and agenda. This show has been needing this type of active vixen/ femme fatale for a long time. The Daniel/Heather/Lucy scenes have been a highlight so far. Fairly realistic and well acted, although the whole Portugal thing is silly. Why couldn’t it just be like Seattle or Boston or Toronto lol?
  14. Major UGH! 🙄🙄🙄😢 It may not be a Taylor recast. Rumor has it But with any B&B rumor I’d take it with a grain of salt until we see something happen.
  15. 🤣🤣🤣 To recap on the Stapler-Gate drama courtesy of the 8/24 recap: Ridge says his dad has inspired him his whole life but he should inspire his grandkids and relax and take it easy. He gets a call and takes off, leaving Eric hanging. When he returns, Eric thinks Ridge feels that his contributions are not needed anymore. Ridge denies that but the people he hired are doing their jobs and it’s working. “Go play golf,” he says. “I’m not some old dinosaur,” Eric argues. Ridge didn’t mean to put him out to pasture. Eric looks for his stapler and Ridge says it was gone a few weeks ago when it stopped working. Eric barks, “It was worn so you threw it out? You gonna do that with me too, Ridge?” And on 8/25: At Forrester Creations, Ridge and his father argue about him throwing away his stapler. It has been with Eric since he started there and has symbolic meaning. The past needs to be valued not just thrown away. And then on 9/8: At Forrester, Brooke tells Ridge it's time to get back to work. He approaches and hands her a stapler, and looks back. As Brooke staples, Ridge envisions Eric at his desk... And finally yesterday 9/11: Ridge reflects on the good time they had in there as kids. He tells Thomas about the stapler Eric had on his desk. Someone threw it out and it meant a lot to him. Thomas says that’s too bad. Bill Bell is now spinning retrograde in his grave.
  16. Ridge threw out Eric’s original favorite stapler because it was old. Apparently Eric had that stapler since day one and had some meaning for Eric…? Anyways Eric went on some tantrum about the stapler getting thrown out because it was old and used it as some metaphor for Ridge pushing Eric out. Last week we had a moment when Ridge picked up a stapler he imagined Eric working away at his desk. You can’t make this up. 😂
  17. I howled at laughter with Brooke’s dialogue on how it was abnormal to sketch designs at home. Today’s episode felt like the show literally has run out of story. This goofy Eric vs. Ridge thing is a DOA non-starter.
  18. They could’ve just stayed off the air and run ATWT reruns in its place and probably would have gotten better ratings. https://deadline.com/2023/09/cbs-the-talk-return-filming-writers-strike-1235543186/amp/
  19. If I recall right Kay Alden was a big fan of Labine/Mayer’s work on both WTHI and and LOL, to the point I think Alden once said WTHI had been her favorite soap. Did Labine ever consider launching Ryan’s Hope on CBS? I wonder if there was just a lack of room for it on CBS schedule at the time.
  20. Since Kyle has decided that call himself Smiling Kyle after Smiling Jack I am going to predict now that Audra will be Kyle’s Diane while The rest of the first week of September was uneventful. Same old same old with Victor/Adam drama unfolding while the rest of show revolves around pointless stories about mergers and acquisitions occurring in Crimson Lights. Literally nothing happened although I did the Victor, Sharon, and Heather scenes. Actually I hate the show for squandering the Victor/Sharon friendship so many years back.
  21. Lord she was absolutely DREADFUL as the first SOARSed Abby back during the MAB era, I never wanted to see her again on Y&R. Claire Grace sounds like such a basic bitch name, probably she’s for Kyle.
  22. Nikki forbidding Audra from seeing Kyle to keep her job is the most laughable thing ever.
  23. Wow was totally not expecting this at all, I’m surprised and happy at the same time! I really hope the shows at least let’s Mamie spend more time with Lily, Nate, and Devon this time around than back in March. Mamie setting Nate straight worth be worth seeing.
  24. @Paul Raven @DRW50 @Gray Bunny @YRfan23 @Soapsuds @kalbir @SFK @Vee @Donna L. Bridges @danfling @dc11786 @robbwolff @janea4old I know I’ve shared this before, but back in 2006 in the good old days of WOST being a website I had compiled a list of CBS stations airing the Daytime lineup at weird times, thanks it part to the onset of online TV schedules and various discussion. Not to mention I was inspired by KRQE airing an abnormal line-up of its own, and this is what I found at the time. This includes stations airing GL in the morning: KFMB-8 San Diego CBS 9:30AM B&B 11AM: Y&R 1PM: ATWT 2PM: GL KKTV-11 Colorado Springs(CBS) 11AM: ATWT 12:30PM: B&B 1PM: GL 2PM: Y&R KREX-5 Grand Junction(CBS) 9AM: TPIR 10AM: Y&R 12:30PM B&B 1PM: GL 2PM: ATWT Florida WFOR-4 Miami(CBS) 10AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT WKMG-6 Orlando(CBS) 10AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT WINK-11 Fort Myers(CBS) 10:30AM B&B 1PM: Y&R 2PM: ATWT 3PM: GL Georgia WTOC-11 Savannah(CBS) 12:30PM: Y&R 1:30PM: B&B 2PM: ATWT 3PM: Montel Williams 4PM: GL Hawaii KGMB-9 Honolulu(CBS) 11:30AM: B&B 12PM: GL 1PM: Y&R 2PM: ATWT Idaho KBCI-2 Boise(CBS) 9AM: TPIR 10AM: Y&R 12:30PM B&B 1PM: ATWT 2PM: GL KIFI-8 Pocatello(CBS) 9AM: TPIR 10AM: Y&R 12:30PM B&B 1PM: GL 2PM: ATWT KMVT-11 Twin Falls(CBS) 9AM: TPIR 11:30AM B&B 1PM: GL 2PM: Y&R 3PM: ATWT Illinois WBBM-2 Chicago(CBS) 9AM: GL 11:30Y&R 12:30 B&B 1PM: ATWT WANE-15 Fort Wayne(CBS) 10AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT WSBT-22 South Bend(CBS) 9AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT WKYT-27 Lexington 9AM: Y&R 1:30PM: B&B 2PM: ATWT 3PM: GL WLKY-32 Louisville 1:30PM: B&B 2PM: ATWT 3PM: GL 4PM: Y&R WAFB-9 Baton Rogue 12:30PM: B&B 1PM: ATWT 2PM: GL 4PM: Y&R WGME-13 Portland 9AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT WBZ-4 Boston 10AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT Michigan WNEM-5 Flint --Station does not air GL, airs on local MyNetTV at 10AM instead-- WWJ-62 Detroit 10AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT Missouri KOLR-10 Springfield 11:30AM Y&R 12:30PM B&B 1:00 PM ATWT 2:00 PM GL KMOV-4 St. Louis 12:30PM: B&B 1PM: ATWT 2PM: GL 4PM: Y&R Montana KTVQ-2 Billings 10AM: Y&R 11AM: ATWT 12:30PM: B&B 1PM: GL 2PM: TPIR KXLF-4 Butte 10AM: Y&R 11AM: ATWT 12:30PM: B&B 1PM: GL 2PM: TPIR KXGN-5 Glendive 10AM: Y&R 11AM: ATWT 12:30PM: B&B 1PM: GL 2PM: Passions 3PM: Days KPAX-8 Missoula 10AM: Y&R 11AM: ATWT 12:30PM: B&B 1PM: GL 2PM: TPIR KRTV-3 Great Falls 9AM: TPIR 10AM: Y&R 11AM: ATWT 12:30PM: B&B 1PM: GL New Mexico KRQE-13 Albuquerque 10AM: ATWT 11AM: TPIR 12:30PM: B&B 1PM: Y&R 2PM: GL New York WCBS-2 New York City 10AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT WRGB-Albany 10AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT North Carolina WRAL-5 Raleigh 1:30PM B&B 2PM: ATWT 3PM: GL 4PM: Y&R Oklahoma KOTV-6 Tulsa --station airs B&B at 12:35am overnights) Pennsylvania KYW-3 Philadelphia 10AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT WYOU-22 Scranton-Wilkes-Barre 10AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT WTVF-5 CBS Nashville: 11:30AM: Y&R 1:30PM: B&B 2PM: GL 3PM: ATWT KUTV-2 Salt Lake City 9AM: TPIR 10AM: Y&R 11AM: ATWT 1PM: GL 2PM: B&B KGWN-5 Cheyenne 10AM: TPIR 11AM: Y&R 12PM: ATWT 1PM: GL 2PM: B&B
  25. When KUTV in Salt Lake City became an CBS O&O following the Mormon owned KSL (a very notorious pre-empter of shows they didn’t approve of for both CBS & NBC) becoming an NBC station in 1995, KUTV switched to an interesting schedule itself: 9AM: TPIR 10AM: Y&R (same day with the 12ET/11CT feed) 11AM: ATWT (day behind) 12:00PM News 1:00 GL 2:00 B&B
