It’s funny though: a lot of the Facebook ladies seem to support Sprina, at least if the last post featuring them is any indication. Lots of posts (with lots of likes) about how cute Spencer’s reaction was when Trina visited him in prison. I don’t see nearly the same negativity that I saw around Teriah on the Y&R page (perhaps because homophobia is a bit more socially acceptable than objecting to race mixing). But usually when people object to something racial, they use very coded language and dog whistles, and I’m not seeing a TON of that in the circles where that usually happens. Maybe I’m not looking in the right places. And perhaps FV is projecting or looking at market research we don’t know about.

Definitely a combo. They drag out everything and load up stories with twists that derail any momentum, but there was a time when Spencer and Trina barely had scenes together, which is unusual even for them.

And the CBS audience is stereotypically older and more conservative. Plus they were black man/white woman sex scenes!

Potomac is still the best HW franchise by a mile, but seven seasons in, we’ve arrived at a point where we’re beating dead horses, BH-style, and it might be good to shake things up. (That’s a pretty astonishing run of strong seasons. Maybe only matched by ATL.) Last season felt like the start of it. Ashley, Gizelle, Robyn, and even Karen are all coasting a bit on obviously manufactured stories; the return of Charrisse feels desperate; Mia and Wendy have proven to be casting fails. Maybe replacing the latter three would be a start, but Potomac feels hard to cast.

Taylor stays at No. 1 but Drake album-bombed the Top 10 with eight entries (seven of them with 21 Savage).

DAYS had better pull out all the stops in tribute to this icon.
