  1. I guess that was bound to happen. Netflix apparently had something fantastic going; so, naturally, they had to find ways to muck it up.
  2. Ironically, Gary Hudson (ex-Rick) lasted only 13 weeks. There must be something wrong with me. Several have spoken negatively about the quality of Justin Deas' performances. However, he's one of those actors who never, ever bores me. I mean, I absolutely love to watch the guy act.
  3. So, is she admitting she has fallen off the wagon?
  4. Frankly, Norman Lear's shows tend(ed) to feature a hammy, over-the-top performance style.
  5. Yep. It's called "frat party antics." I'm kidding.
  6. I wonder if that's (the bingeing phenomenon) why so many shows today are sooooo slowly paced. Perhaps they don't want to throw TOO much at you since you're watching several episodes at a clip. Unfortunately, for me, slowing down the storytelling is having the opposite effect: some shows (that I'm forced to watch with Mama Khan because "family togetherness" and all that bull) produce episodes that are so dull (not to mention, so dark and ponderous) that I find I can't finish even one episode before finding an excuse to leave the room. OTOH, could you imagine trying to binge a fast-paced series like, say, KNOTS LANDING, where something big happened in just about every episode? I feel like the back of your head would be blown off by the end.
  7. The Republican representative was accused of having sex with an incapacitated woman against her will. Apparently, that's the only way some Republicans can have sex. Amirite, Brett Kavanaugh? ;)
  8. It certainly is. Blame the ooga booga man for all your country's problems, rather than admit that you are the ones to blame. Germanic peoples can be sooooooooooo predictable. Thanks, Carl, for the article!
  9. What idiotic thing did he say/do now?
  10. "Dick Van Dyke" and "sexual harassment" are five words I hope never to see within the same sentence.
  11. You mean they haven't already? Geez, maybe their Internet is still buffering!
  12. I think Rosemary Prinz did put in at least one appearance post-Marland. I can't recall the specifics -- something to do w/ a boat that sunk? -- but I do recall her watching all the drama surrounding Molly, David Stenbeck and others unfold and remarking, "Who ARE these people?".
  13. I still remember when people attacked Chelsea for her looks, calling her "Dogface" among other niceties. I'm telling you, the Clintons have never had a moment's peace.
  14. I'm sure Sony is considering the move even as we speak.
  15. SonyCrackle (formerly just Crackle) is Sony's streaming outfit. I don't use the service, so I don't know whether they have remained free (with ads), but I know they offer a mix of original stuff and shows from the Sony library. Given that Sony owns ODAAT, too, having new eps run on SonyCrackle makes tremendous sense.
  16. In that case, what about a cable network? The more I think about ODAAT going to one of the "Big Four" (or Five or Six), the more I'm afraid that network will interfere creatively and cause viewers to complain and jump ship.
  17. Candace remains the top girl, though!
  18. Is Hulu (or another streaming service) out of the question?
  19. I don't know if I was the one who said it, but I certainly agree with it, lol. Typically, giving an actress the lead in one of their signature mystery series on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is seen as a vote of confidence on Crown Media's part. They believe that actress has a large enough following to help the network stay competitive on Sunday nights. Ergo, when Lacey landed the just-premiered "Crossword Mysteries," it was a sign that she had "arrived." Nevertheless, thanks to Lori, Hallmark finds itself in a pickle. Both "Garage Sale Mysteries" and "When Calls the Heart" are huge draws for HMM and Hallmark Channel, respectively. It's not going to be easy just to yank the two off the air, replace them with other shows and hope for the best. It's possible that Lacey and Candace Cameron Bure will become more visible on their networks than ever.
  20. Well, Vee, I guess you can stop worrying now.
  21. Mama Khan is officially on suicide watch.
  22. Aside from "Good Times," "The Jeffersons" and the original ODAAT, I have no use for Lear's brand of "comedy."
  23. That's what I'm saying! ODAAT's cancellation can't be put down to financial reasons, because Netflix has renewed other series that cost way more than a half-hour, four-camera sitcom ever would. They've just decided that they want a demographic other than the one ODAAT was bringing. (By the way, I watch neither ODAAT nor any other series on Netflix. But I still think this stinks.)
  24. Agree. Hallmark, however, could justify cancelling WCTH by saying it had run for five (now six) good seasons, that every series must end sooner or later, etc.
  25. Sure does. And if you know about the history of the FOX, WB and UPN networks, for example, then you know that b.s. moves like cancelling ODAAT are nothing new. It's the same old story: use us (meaning, the "urban" audiences) to build your brand, then toss our asses out with the trash while you go chasing after white America. I hate to say it, but maybe Mo'Nique had a point about boycotting Netflix.
