Gregory was a character we didn't know very well and didn't care about, tied to OTHER characters we don't care about; and as with most stories that GH has told for the past ten-plus years, they dragged their feet with Gregory's story so much and for so long that any chance they MIGHT have had to GET us to care about it had evaporated long ago. I'm with you and @Vee, @carolineg: the ending was anticlimactic, but at least it's at its' end.

I've said this before in other threads, but the problem with doing stories about incurable diseases such as Alzheimer's or ALS is that they offer no hope to viewers in a medium that, at its' core, is supposed to offer hope. (Like the song says, "there's always tomorrow.") Furthermore, what's to keep viewers from tuning out once the afflicted party inevitably passes away? It's like when OLTL's Megan died of complications from lupus. The show, and then-HW Michael Malone, got a lot of good press and attention for telling that story - and rightfully so! Once it was over, however, I was like, "Okay, now what?" Suspense is a crucial element in any good soap story - or any story, for that matter - but when the character dies at the end - and it's assumed that that death cannot be reversed down the road - then the suspense is pretty much gone; and with it has gone any reason to keep tuning in.

For me, the problem isn't that she won't perform a sex scene. (And by the way, could we please stop making it sound as if we're begging JS and AS to do hardcore porn, lol?). It's that neither she nor her on-screen husband give us anything in the way of romance. Even a handshake is seemingly "off limits" to those two. Naturally, when it's THAT chaste, the lack of love scenes becomes all the more noticeable.

Adam Gregory (allegedly) didn't want to do kissing scenes, but he was okay portraying a reality show contestant who was accused of sexual assault on "L&O: SVU"? Sigh. My fellow Christians really can tire me out sometimes, lol. Again: you will not go to Hell if you are an actor and you so much as kiss someone on camera! If you're letting your faith dictate your acting career to that degree, then what are you even doing in the business?

Bloomers, eh? So, they've glammed up Grandma Brook Lynn after all! Nah, I've even seen Amy Grant videos that were more PG-13 than Chase and BLQ. I think the entire writing team should be fired. Frank really should quit GH and go produce a kids' talent show. It's painfully obvious that that's where his heart is.

GH: Former Star Returning!
Nancy Lee Grahn: And Patrick [Mulcahey] really fashioned Mason and Julia and their relationship. The Dobsons of course, created the characters, but he was very responsible for the writing of that. Davies: He got us early on and that sort of Adam's Rib-by tone that we had. Grahn: And the dimension and the complication and all those things. So, don't tell me that PM can't head-write! Because, this Mason & Julia fan knows better! And, of course, leave it to Frank Valentini and his Olive Garden Italian ass to put the kibosh on any sort of Mason-and-Julia-like banter between NLG and LD this time around. Bantering is only what they're best at, y'know! It's only what they're known for, what any halfway intelligent soap fan LIVES for; so, of course, it has to go! Sigh. I will never [!@#$%^&*] understand that Frank.

Why? I...tend to agree. This is a tricky situation, especially in the post-#MeToo era. For better or for worse, love scenes have become an intrinsic part of the storytelling on soaps, so to have an actor or actors refuse to participate in those kinds of scenes on ANY grounds is, well, frustrating, lol. But, on the other hand, if you fire an actor simply because they won't do love scenes, or because they won't show even a modest amount of skin, you're opening up yourself and your show to lawsuits. Plain and simple. IOW: as boring as JS and AS/Chase and BLQ are, we're kind of stuck with them, with how the writers have to write for them, and even with how they choose to play - or, rather, NOT play - even the smallest moments of affection between them, until something changes. I agree with all of this. I, too, respect how JS and AS feel, but you can't tell me that it's not tying a lot of other people's hands at the show. I know that if *I* were HW, I'd be hesitant to write for them AT ALL - let alone something as potentially salacious, say, as an infidelity story - for fear of how they think their kids will respond to the material down the road. (As if my job was to worry about their kids' emotional well-being, lol.)

I know of one instance in the later years when Liz Hubbard herself corrected her dialogue to say she had three (rather than two) daughters.
