Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Another solid NYC episode. I'm guessing at some point Barbara falls off the radar? Otherwise, I don't understand why she isn't an official 7th castmember. Again, love how they cast people with actual history with one another. I'm still waiting for the day Jill returns simply because all her real-life friends (Dorinda, Barbara, etc.) have since joined. Sonja's perspective this season is so refreshing. She isn't harping about something silly (not being invited to the Berkshires) or picking sides blindly (she was a lil too far up Bethenny's ass last season). She's playing it Switzerland neutral and just provides light, airy fun commentary and innocent humor without getting too messy (i.e. showing her dildos in the dishwasher, lol). And how good is it for her emotionally to recognize that her townhouse causes her unwanted stress and she just wants to get rid of it now. Kudos! Ramona's reactions to her date were hilarious. I loved how they interspersed her talking head comments where she's checking off all the worst qualities she wouldn't want in a man, and the dude is clicking all those boxes. Her facial expression towards him said it all. I wish Dorinda would take ownership of her remarks against LuAnn. Both are stubborn at reaching across the aisle, but in all honesty, I don't think LuAnn is at fault for anything in this matter. It's a shame their long-standing real-life friendship has taken a beating over this, but it seems LuAnn is honestly hurt and wants to keep her distance, cameras or no cameras. Next week's preview had us ROLLING with laughter... Halloween at the Berkshires and Ramona sees a scary dark-haired goblin crouched over: "It looks like Bethenny crying." LOLOLOL

Best/Worst Network Promo Campaigns
LOL! "Frankie D." So unappealing. When he tilts his head like a kindergarten teacher enticing his students to sing the alphabet. (P.S. They should've brought in Rick Hearst or even Robert Newman) I think Zimmer is sporting her "Rebecca" extensions. Or was indeed pulled right off the streets of New York as she was enjoying a lighthearted summer day. Wendy Moniz is rockin' it though. So deliciously 90's.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Oh yeah. I noticed. Pot. Kettle. Black. Yeah, that's the thing. Teddi was miss home-grown slice-of-life non-glam "accountability coach" last season; the outsider looking in, and now she's trying to play with the big dogs (no pun intended) this year she looks like a total poser.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Yeah that was pretty damn cute and shades of the fun Rinna. And the tea that the original Billie and Austin hooked up? LOL Sigh. More Puppygate and more Dorit propping. Eff that. Can't wait for next week though. Side note: my hubby laughed at the scene of Lisa and Ken discussing the revamp of their kitchen. Lisa wanting something that's already fabulous to be spruced up even more so; Ken fighting it but ultimately just giving in because it'll make the wife happy, all while he holds his lil dog in one arm. That is literally our marriage. I'm Ken. Hubby is Lisa. LOL

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I'm glad Kenya's returning for the season finale. She's been missed. I can never keep track of Nene's opinion of Kenya. Last year at the reunion they were chummy going after Sloth Zolciak on the other couch. Nene's always so back-'n-forth with her liking/loathing of Kenya I can never take her seriously. I mean, she was championing for Phaedra to come to Andy's baby shower??? 'Nuf said.

LOL I checked that out after you posted this. Sadly, it's the only thing giving me giggles. I'm otherwise rolling my eyes at this whole nonsense. And Dorit is the "victim." Ridiculous. And I bet that poor turd never paid 5K back to Vanderpump Dogs for the broken contract.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
LuAnn suddenly having beef with Ramona and not wanting to see her at the party seemed a little forced to me for conflict. I get that Ramona said a couple things about her at the reunion, but it just didn't seem organic (similar to season four when Kelly suddenly had an issue going on a trip with Ramona, blaming her on happened the year prior [Scary Island], which rang hollow and unnecessary). I love the Hamptons action too, and it definitely gives Season 2 & 3 vibes. Re: POTOMAC Oh [!@#$%^&*], that looks goooood! I can't wait for these silly bitches to return Everyone vs. Ashley looks juicy as hell. Love me some Grande Dame! Robyn's hair is atrocious. I think I might actually like Katie's return. Agreed, you know I live to hate her.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Re: BH: Rinna makes it harder and harder to like her every day. And this comes from a big Rinna fan ever since her original DAYS run and MP days. She's just a damn clown. Re: NJ: The husbands help this franchise round out the overall likability factor of this group. I like that Jennifer's husband calls her out on her own B.S. Margaret and her hubby are two peas in a pod and I love them. One more kudos to Margaret for being the MVP this season - look forward to seeing her next season. Re: NYC: I enjoyed the soft premiere. Good grief, this show has the "fortune" of having real-life issues plague them and have it spill out on to the show. I completely forgot about Bethenny's on-again-off-again partner dying. Plus, we have the ups and downs of the Countess from this past year... Sonja had me giggling over her putting towels up over her bedroom windows (cut to a shot of the restaurant patrons in the next building over looking in... ha!)... loved being back in the Hamptons with Luann, Bethenny and Ramona... Ramona's flirting is hysterical... I like Barbara so far, and once again she's a genuine friend of some of the ladies, so there's that organic friendship quality that NYC boasts versus other franchises... Dorinda vs. Luann is good TV, even though I think Dorinda is in the wrong right off the bat. The preview at the end was wild! Looks like another great season is on its way!! Side note: I mean damn. Luann is 53, Ramona is 62. These women know how to take care of themselves and get subtle touch-ups to keep looking natural.

The Fox TV Network: The Early Days
Sunday nights on FOX... I remember it well. Wasn't that their only night when they first started out in '87? I liked Herman's Head. I loved when Maureen McCormick guest-starred.... good Christ, I forgot about Babes, LOL. 90210 really helped broaden their weeknight broadcasts. I think when 90210 moved to Wednesdays, that was the first time they included Wednesday as an offering to their affiliates. Parker Lewis Can't Lose, Drexel's Class (starring Dabney Coleman) ... ah memories of my childhood. Of course, Married... with Children, Simpsons, Tracey Ullman, Duet, Open House, etc. FOX gave me my Must-See-TV growing up, with 90210 and Melrose Place, along with Party of Five, Models Inc., etc.

Developing: 90210 Reboot with Original Cast!
The high-waisted jeans above the girls' belly buttons were my favorite. Oh, and Cindy Walsh's wardrobe in general. Sigh... I'm watching this show now at work lol The first few seasons are just so wonderful

Developing: 90210 Reboot with Original Cast!
Agreed. I keep waiting for John Stamos and Rob Lowe to finally start looking haggard but they're hell bent on staying young forever. Even Don Diamont is finally starting to show his age... slowly... So sad to hear about Luke Perry. 90210 (and MP) was my childhood upbringing, watching it when I was 8 years old (probably shouldn't have been, but I've loved my dishy soapy dramas since I came out of the womb). I'll always be Team Brenda for Dylan

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Yup. You said it in a nutshell. Another spinoff for LVP? LOL at the double whammy for the witchypoos. First their motives are outed episode 3; and now the one that "doesn't show up to do her job" gets rewarded yet again. Bravo knows who the fans love. Even in those WWHL polls, anything supporting LVP wins by a landslide.
-
Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Agreed. That's when the decline began for me, too. That cold, flat delivery thing she does when goes on about being offended by some dumb comment (Eileen, Teddi last year, LVP this year, etc.) has grown tired and unnecessary. At the end of the day, to quote Ramona Singer, she's just not a "girl's girl".
-
Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Agreed. Her continuous garbs of dresses that look like over-sized T-shirts are neither cute or flattering. She's a clown. Apparently "the gays" love her, but *this* gay is over the schtick.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
For. Real. It definitely seemed pre-rehearsed when she so swiftly "deduced" that LVP's employees were doing her dirty work. Remember when Rinna was a good actress? Last night's eppy had me fired up, too. I'm just glad it was blatantly obvious right off the bat what Kyle, Rinna, and Teddi's motivations were. They were so thirsty to bring up this "elephant in the room" that didn't exist between LVP and Dorit. It's funny seeing that trio getting read for filth in twitterland. Kyle is so desperate to maintain her dwindling fan base. Meanwhile, it's team Vanderpump all the way. We know her, we love her, and to see this strong woman breaking down over something so personal, and then to see those hag vipers attack when she's most vulnerable is gross. And Erika's condolences letter, perfectly snap-shotted on her phone. Okay gurl... Was that photo taken in your bedroom or your husband's...?

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
LOL'ed at that smirk perfectly edited in at the end. Other than Erika's Krystle Carrington look in her talking heads, you could forget she was even on the episode. I enjoyed the episode overall. I appreciated the family life aspect with Rinna's daughter. I feel for Vanderpump and Ken with Giggy. I can personally understand the worry over your dogs, especially the very small delicate ones (see my toy chihuahua in my photo, my darling pride 'n joy). I wonder if this will be the year Camille is no longer revered as the former 'wife we all wish were full-time. What, with siding against Lisa Vanderpump, plus defending Brett Cavanaugh.... hmm, I dunno girl. We may need to sic the morally corrupt Faye Resnick back on her My God, that was a toxic episode. IMO, Teresa's behavior even outdid Nene at her worst or Bethenny last year. If she's trying to drive away what remains of her dwindling fanbase, that'll do the trick. She was turnt up and everyone, especially sis-in-law who still has to deal with her outside of camera life, was aghast at her ridiculous behavior. If I didn't know the circumstances of Melissa/Joe getting onto RHONJ, I'd be stanning for Melissa all the way. I *love* the way she has finally stood up for herself and her friends and basically anyone who's being treated unfairly by Teresa, Jennifer or Danielle. Unless Teresa is indeed pulling rank behind the scenes, this reunion guarantees a second year for Jackie. I too was proud and impressed and how she composed herself and came back with amazing retorts to Teresa (appreciated the "yes man" quip towards Dolores too). Teresa was ugly, insensitive, and stupid as all hell. God, she is SO dumb. Would Bravo finally be open to axing the last-standing OG of RHONJ? Tre's all up in arms over Jackie, when the real threat at dethroning her is Margaret, whose personality is fun and fresh, and she provides a NEW family dynamic, versus Tre's tired old crap from the last 9 years. Jennifer also went below the belt and you could see on her face she knew when she stepped out of line about Marge Sr. and people's children. BTW: Margaret's facelift looks great. Can't wait for next week!

Teddi looks like such a poser trying to be a big name bully. She's a nerd at heart and looks goofy trying to act badass.

The Politics Thread
... and once THEIR bank accounts are hit, some may finally see the light. At least, that's what's happened with my father. My dad flip-flops, mostly due to economic or financial reasons. He voted for Clinton in '92 and Obama in '08, but voted for Mitt Romney in '12 and would've voted for Trump in '16 if he had voted at all (at least that's what he told me; he may very well have voted). We've had a few heated arguments since that fateful day in late October 2016 when that bogus "email scandal" conveniently came back to light. He's on the Fox News bandwagon and anti-anything where there's a woman in charge (Hillary first, now he suddenly has issues with Nancy Pelosi having a fence around her own house...). However, just this past week as I visited my parents, he was on the phone telling off a conservative party representative pandering for more money, telling the poor fool on the phone that he no longer supports the conservative party because --- yup --- he now OWES 8K in taxes this year, something he's never faced in years and years. So all the other horrible, despicable, inhumane acts of the Republican party didn't raise a red flag for him until it affected his own pocketbook. P.S. I too was raised in a very strong Lutheran household...

100% agree and I didn't think I'd warm to Jennifer. Meanwhile, Jackie indeed became a non-factor. And with Teresa's blind loyalty to Danielle and Margaret's overall charm, humor, and ability to be friends with anyone (except Danielle), she was definitely this year's MVP. Plus, I love her family life and the openness she gives about their contentious backstory. And shoot, even Melissa endeared me this season (though I still will always give her and hubby the side-eye for the slimy way they joined the show...) . I agree, I like almost all of them and everyone looks great! Great makeup, hair and dresses. LuAnn's is my fave too.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
And I'm totally cool with that. I'd actually love for her to have as much presence as Danielle has on New Jersey, even WITH talking heads. Re: NJ, as mentioned up thread, I am one who does NOT think Margaret is suffering the second season curse at all. We haven't had a real breakout newbie from New Jersey since Teresa's family joined in season 3. Yeah, Dolores is okay, but Margaret has personality and humor. Her one lil "mail order bride" comment was nothing to get all pissy about. Instead, it feels like Jennifer's "outrage" against Margaret and Jackie is producer-coaxed. Like "hey, you gotta cause conflict with your co-stars or else you won't last another season." Very forced, IMO. OMG the Countess... Everyone looks great.

:::knock knock::: yasss! The NYC queens return! No newbie, no official Jill return, just the core six with one loss from last year. Looks fun!

"The Conners" Discussion Thread
Nah, quite the opposite. Once season 5 hit, you had Roseanne & Jackie steady at the diner. Eventually by end of 5th, you had Dan working at the city garage. I'm talking about plots that squarely focus on money struggles. So much of these new episodes focus on it. Look at the rundown of season 6 by comparison... Darlene moving to college... Jackie sleeping with Fred... Jackie knocked up by Fred while Roseanne suddenly wanted a baby of her own... schmoozing to Florence Henderson (mother of "Elijah Minelli") for restaurant products at cost... finding old marijuana and smoking it ("is this the sink? am I shrinking?") ... Phyllis Zimmer having lunch with Dan and Roseanne getting pissed... NuBecky and Mark returning while Dan has a highschool football reunion... DJ crashing their car and Roseanne spanking him... DJ and Darlene outsmarting Roseanne when DJ is skipping school... the gay bar episode with Murielle Hemmingway locking lips with Roseanne... okay enough of recapping season 6. You get the point. Them struggling was a reason why they were in the situations they were in (not being able to afford Becky's dress for the dance; Roseanne sweeping hair at the salon, etc.), but not the plot itself.
