  1. Mr. Wednesday is working those sweatpants. Woof!
  2. Before I updated, I was using a 15-year-old computer with Windows XP, and it was tragic too, LOL. I have a Galaxy tablet as well, and browsing the different threads poses me no problem on it. I guess why some devices have problems loading certain content will always be a bit of a mystery.
  3. I see so many zealots on the radical Christian reich railing against how dangerous Muslims supposedly are, but in reality, "Christians" can be just as dangerous.
  4. Cool. I hope the posters who have problems see your comment.
  5. Extreme hair! Extreme Charlie!
  6. Yes, that's true too. Slower web services can be a nightmare when you are trying to load certain content-rich pages or sites, specifically on an older system. My current computer has no trouble (or very little trouble) with anything, which is why I thought perhaps Dale's woes stemmed from his having an older system. That's curious. I wonder why Apple, specifically, would have a problem. All my Apple-owning friends keep nagging me to buy a Mac.
  7. Yes, many eps from the early 1980s are available on youtube. The show's best years were from 1966 to 1975, IMHO, and I wish there was more material available from that golden era.
  8. If your equipment is new, then clearly the problems you are experiencing are not due to an outdated system, which is the most common reason people have trouble loading heavy-content web pages. Could you have a virus? That's another cause of ultra-slow loading and crashing.
  9. By 1984, Reinholt was humbled and older and wiser about his stint on soaps. He made it clear he was eager for a comeback. The best idea would have been to rehire him and Couirtney in 1983 or 84, if the show really wanted to give the reignited story a fighting chance. If not, since Canary is an excellent actor, it might have worked with him, Courtney, and Wyndham. But the writing needed to be good as well, and it clearly was NOT when Canary and Borgenson were hired to play the new Steve and Alice. Corinne Jacker loathed writing the series, and it showed. I tend to agree there would have been massive audience resistance, but having a good writer and Courtney on board would have helped. Just out of curiosity, did you watch AW between 1964 and 1975?
  10. She had a sharp and sarcastic way of reading some dialogue which did not sit well with me. She could not cry convincingly and it was distracting to watch her struggling and failing to do so. I did not think she had much chemistry with some important co-stars. She was not the worst actress in the world, of course, and she was (IMHO) the "least bad" replacement Alice, but she simply did not capture the essence of the character. She remained on the show for years but I never accepted her.
  11. When I had my ancient, very slow computer, it used to drive me crazy when I was unable to load certain web sites and content. My system would slow down to a virtual standstill, or crash completely, whenever I tried to visit pages with multiple videos or GIFs. But I realized that it was MY problem. I could not expect posters and webmasters from around the world to restrict their own posting style to minimize my personal grievances. The internet is an ever-evolving technology, and it was my own responsibility to catch up and accommodate its content. Being respectful of other posters' issues is great, and always the preferred option, but you do not need to throw out the baby with the bathwater, as they say. I daresay most folks enjoy the videos.
  12. And they were all pretty dreadful. JC was the only one, true Alice.
  13. The Alice whom I detested the most was Wesley Ann Pfenning, whose casting was mind boggling. She was so awful and so wrong for the role, it's hard to believe she even passed the audition process. Linda Borgenson was very bland and colorless in the role, and she was my second least-favorite Alice.. Unfortunately, NONE of the replacement Alices captured the essence of the character. And in reality, Alice never caused any of the problems with Jamie. The writers were either ignorant and/or confused about history, or they wanted to show Rachel's inability to think rationally about her history with Steve and Alice. One could argue that because Alice never wanted Steven to be alone with Rachel, even when Rachel used the excuse of "having to talk about Jamie," that Alice made it more difficult for Rachel and Steven to manage their son's upbringing. This is BS, of course, but in Rachel's mind, that could be how she saw it.
  14. I read an interview once with this Alice, Vana Tribbey, who said that when she took over the role, she was given a "very long, very complicated 17-year history" of the character. In this clip, she does seem to be attempting to mimic Jacqueline Courtney, and it's very awkward. In other episodes during Tribbey's run, she did not seem like Courtney (or Alice for that matter) at all. And yes, the wardrobe is awful, as you say, but not as bad as when JC reprised the role of Alice in 1984.
  15. I do believe videos may embed automatically. I used to have a problem with various internet pages crashing, or loading very slooooooowly, when I had my older, weaker computer. I saved up my pennies until I could afford to upgrade to a new PC with more horsepower, and voila! Problem solved. Money is tight for many folks, but upgrading your computer when feasible is the best advice I can give anyone experiencing slow-loading content or crashing pages. (Along with scanning for viruses and malware, which can wreak havoc on the speed and stability of anyone's system.)
  16. Stumbling upon these photographs certainly brought back a lot of memories, from the show`s golden era.
  17. Um...would Santa Barbara have been more of a critics' darling, and lasted longer on television, if its sole sponsor had been a manufacturer of toilet paper? And after Eden was BRUTALLY RAPED, would fans have felt better if Mr. Whipple had let her squeeze the Charmin?
  18. Charlie Hunnam cleans up quite nicely. But...I still prefer him in jeans and a T-shirt.
  19. One Man's Family was amazing!
  20. I just fell in love with you. Marry me.
  21. The show NEVER needed Reva back! AAAAAAAAAACK!
  22. I am ((ahem)) up for ANY games he wants to play in bed.
