  1. I brought up Ingo in case anyone thought "Well, Ingo has been criticized a lot, so it's not only women who are trashed." To me it doesn't matter that it was a safety thing. The double standard applies because of gender. Ingo will likely never be back but we don't have these recurring discussions about Ingo's relationship to Frank, or his demands on the set, or about him being difficult. And yes, Steve is an issue, especially since he was able to return with seemingly so little discussion or pushback.
  2. That's been the #1 thought running through my mind for the last few dozens of posts, and for every post about Vanessa Marcil. The double standard is so bad that even those of us who KNOW there's a double standard can't fall prey to it anyway. Those actors you mentioned -- Steve, Mo, Tony -- were NEVER scrutinized in the same way as Vanessa Marcil. There was never the same passion in that discussion, either. Frank's relationship with them was never discussed in the same terms, with the same language. And no, Ingo isn't proof that there isn't a double standard. If a woman pulled the same crap as Ingo -- then and since -- she would have been pilloried beyond belief.
  3. I might be in the minority, but I like Adam Harrington's (Jagger's) hair.
  4. OK, and Best Pecs.
  5. I got that wrong and stand corrected. I still say the past week+ has been a head scratcher.
  6. Co-sign. But RJ wins Best Guns and Best Booty.
  7. Just make Buck your pleasure. No reason to feel guilty. GURRRRLLLLLLL!!!!
  8. Can't disagree with any of that, especially regarding Home & Heart and Soap Twitter. If we're getting more Morgan and Luna, then Frank needs to move to Grey Gardens. I appreciate Morgan Fairchild and I love her politics, but she's not needed on GH. Frank is such a wizard with the budget, yet he spends money on these two?
  9. That's entirely possible, but I'd expect more and better from a writing team that threw out the planned Jason Returns story. I mean, this Deception/shopping network story is a mess onscreen, and I doubt it looks any better on paper. It looks like Chris and Dan got rid of Sasha, and that PM and EK want her back there. If so, they needed to make that happen more organically and not to be so cringe. When I see that horse stable set, all I can think of is how that ENTIRE place must smell of horse. Is that because nothing's happening with the dialogue? Today, Jordan was mooning over Brick (Stephen A Smith). Really? I don't know anyone who was asking for more -- or any -- of this. I thought that went away with Chris and Dan. Lucy. I'm so over that character, and Lynn Herring is not to blame for the mess writers have made. I think Lucy is worse since PM started. I could go on with another half dozen characters. Yes, I know it's early. Yes, I know it takes time to turn around a show. But -- for me -- the last week or so has been a real slog.
  10. I'll be honest. I see some improvement in GH since PM and EK started, but I really expected more. Am I expecting too much? I don't know. I still do a lot of eye-rolling at scenes and characters behaving as if they were written by Chris and Dan. I'm not going anywhere, but I also can't pretend I'm excited to watch every day.
  11. I love him. No other way to put it. And the way he talks about the LGBTQ community in interviews makes me love him even more. I admit to being moved by straight people who are so tolerant, so giving, so loving. There's also not much sexier than a straight guy who's so secure that he can be so open in interviews and with acting choices. Thanks -- can't get enough.
  12. BOLD uses the word "mints" in dialogue as if they're Skittles. They're DRUGS, although I long ago stopped expecting honesty from this show. Joshua Hoffman is limited as an actor, but at least he's something to look at. With the crap scripts on this show, iT's not like I enjoy the "better" actors. The show clearly wants us to care about RJ's and Luna's relationship, but we don't. I don't know a single person who cares if they break up or if she ends up with Zende. What they should do is a 911 a la Buck. Have RJ break up with Luna, then after some introspection, discover he's bisexual. Of course, we can't have that on a show that won't recognize gays in the fashion industry let alone in a core family.
  13. Just to clarify, I believed you that GH was nominated. I just don't see it as special that DAYS won an award over competition that was ONE other show. When one thinks of the WGA, one thinks of a credible, prestigious group. I just don't think DAYS' writing is worthy of this prestige. In actuality, the WGA should stop giving the award for daytime soap writing unless/until there's more competition.
  14. So it was a "win" even though the competition was one other soap? Uh....ok.
  15. -- Did ANY other soap submit? Or is this another case of DAYS being the sole submission? Regardless, I don't think this award is worth any more than the Emmy for Best Daytime Soap. It's based on less than a handful of episodes, and we all know those eps don't represent what the show is all year. But hey, Carlivati loves winning awards, so there's that. -- nuTate has been fine, but today he seemed to be trying too hard to play a teen. He didn't play younger on his first couple episodes. I don't know if that was an actor's choice or if someone gave him a note, but I didn't care for it.
  16. I don't see it for EDGE either. It went off the air over 48 years ago! Anyone interested would either be near Social Security or in the niche of people who love soaps so much they know the history of shows that went off the air before they were born.
  17. I know people keep asking for reboots, but we're not going to get reboots of soaps that have been off the air for a decade or more. We're just not.
  18. Is anyone else sick of Luna either near tears or crying every damn day???
  19. If a 30-minute soap patterns itself after BOLD with its stories and pacing, I'll pass.
  20. -- I wish I cared about Brook Lynn and Chase's wedding/marriage. I don't. -- Regarding Maurice Benard, I don't think he's coasting or phoning it in or is lazy. I think he's struggling to remember lines, and it's getting worse all the time. Whatever that was on yesterday's show -- those scenes with Sonny and Jason -- was horrific.
  21. Would you please listen to yourself? I hate to belabor this, but I think it's a serious charge to call someone a bully -- especially when you provide no proof. No one can dictate what you think. No one forces you to agree with anyone's opinion here, including Althea's. And "bullying tactics"? I don't even know what that means. What you have a problem with is Althea's tone. I realize that because I've been criticized for my tone in the past. You don't have to like it, but it's not bullying.
  22. Everything is valid to talk about, including lead actors like Maura West. Still, I'm taken aback at not only the number of posts about her, but that there's a serious discussion about whether she belongs on GH. I can name sooooo many characters/actors more deserving of this kind of "evaluation." Just my opinion, of course. Thought I'd throw in my .02 that Maura West is one of THE greatest daytime actors of all time and that GH would be insane to dump her.
  23. The whole thing looks cheap. Every day, tens of thousands (or more) guys post hotter and sexier photos on social media. Playgirl still doesn't know -- or is afraid to recognize -- its main demo. It's all a half-wink to gay guys while giving us nothing. They play to 60+ females watching soaps. The whole thing is embarrassing.
