  1. Looks like Josh Griffith is pleased with himself for the "Connor is OCD" storyline, so we're going to get even MORE of it. Just gag me already. The article barely resembles what we're getting, which is mostly offscreen. https://tvline.com/interviews/the-young-and-the-restless-ocd-storyline-1235235619/
  2. -- For me, Eden McCoy comes off as annoying as Joss because she lacks vulnerability. I just don't see it. And the previews show her AGAIN running into Dex at the park while they exercise. GMAFB. -- When Blaze used the word "queer" to describe herself, Natalia recoiled and literally said "Please don't use that word." And we're supposed to LIKE this character??? Kill it with fire.
  3. -- Agree with all the comments here about the bad idea to remove the edge from young characters in too short a time. -- It's a shame the writers didn't have Maggie as aware of what a foul person Konstantin is. The only reason I can think of for going this route is that if we knew she was aware, why would she not have ended it all sooner?
  4. The "teen talk" about college and prom was all an eye-rolling mess to me. I felT bad for the actors, because nothing about that sounded like real teens. Sophia gets hit in the face with a football and decides that's her cue to get Tate to take her to prom? OK then.
  5. But what's the point? To what end? Some characters are meant to be incredible and then leave. I don't know why the GH canvas needs a reformed Heather. I don't know what she can do except eat up a salary. This show needs to get rid of characters.
  6. I have no idea why the writers continue having Laura make friends with absolute psychos like Heather Webber. Is this supposed to make us like Laura? And redeem Heather? As far as redeeming Heather, why would I want that? She was a great psycho. I don'T want nice Heather walking around the park with oblivious and ridiculous Laura. Maybe Laura should go and sit with Lulu for awhile.
  7. It's a joke that these new writers can change everyone's job on the show, but can't change Sonny's. And Chad Duell? The acting was already mediocre. Adding a dad bod on top of that doesn't help.
  8. GH has been doing them for a few years, but the recent ones seem...off to me. An outdoor walk-and-talk could be ok. It's even ok to have joggers run into each other, but you can't do that over and over. You can't have Dex try out for the PD on a course that looks so confined and unrealistic. The worst was seeing Sonny wander around "the park" by himself and having him run into Natalia. No, I don't want bad CGI like on Y&R, but this isn't much better.
  9. Same here. Anyone who thinks GH is better with Mulcahey and Korte as HWs has a lot of work to do to convince me. This Blaze/Natalia/brother family addition is not a good sign, and neither is everyone in town changing jobs at the same time.
  10. You're joking with this, right? And BTW, Sonny walking around in the park by himself and running into Natalia on that bench is laughable television. I appreciate remote scenes, but stuff like this is absurd.
  11. I think what we're seeing on our screens is plenty enough to know what their ideas are. We have this enormous, bloated cast and they're adding boring Blaze's brother after adding her annoying homophobic mother?
  12. Yep. That was sourced her earlier today. Steve Kent is going nowhere, so neither is Josh Griffith. https://www.soapoperanetwork.com/2024/05/steve-kent-executive-in-charge-of-production-the-young-and-the-restless
  13. But none of it feels organic. Every day feels like a "Let's Move On to Something Else Day."
  14. That scene with Dex in a towel after showering and then in the boxer briefs is proof that Evan Hofer isn't going anywhere. Frank had the hots for him and now so does Patrick Mulcahey.
  15. The truth is that GH is still losing viewers. I know it's early in this writing change, but I doubt anyone expected Mulcahey to lose viewers in his first months. There are still far too many characters and far too many storylines. Now we have a lot of characters being moved from one story to another. We have stories played for a few days before disappearing. GH is clearly the most popular soap on this board and gets a ton of attention here. I personally don't think the show is in good shape right now, and I'm not happy with any "progress."
  16. Great statement by NAC, but if it's all true, we won't get a recast Spencer. We all know Chavez is too busy to return to GH right now. That means any return would come a good while from now, and if Chavez hits big in primetime and films, he'd be back for a short stint only. Would Frank Valentini sideline the Spencer character indefinitely in hopes NAC will return one day? Unfortunately, I think he would -- and that hurts the show. The guy recasts all over the place, so I can't see holding Spencer for one actor who's likely not coming back.
  17. Most people know what I meant by "dorky." I agree that people have their own style of dress regardless of sexuality and gender, but GH insists on checking off boxes with characters like Aiden. Have these writers EVER seen a gay teen on a streaming series or movie??? Yes, homophobes are everywhere today, but I don't want to see homophobia played off as "It's a cultural thing."
  18. I can understand wanting Aiden to look older, but this nuAiden is NO better than the old one in the acting department. Yeah, it's only day one, but this kid is stiff as hell. And what's up with making him look so awkward with that backpack? So he's gay and he bakes. Does he have to be so dorky? On a show that always thinks it's pushing against conventions, GH sure does play the greatest cliche hits a lot. I'd rather see no gay storylines on this show than to watch this mess or watch Natalia the 1985 homophobic mother.
  19. Looking forward to it!
  20. The scenes with Liam, Steffi, and Ivy are perfect examples of this show being stuck in the 80s. All that snark and eye-rolling that Steffi ditched out? The outright insults? No one would sit there and put up with it, no one would avoid answering back. We got the cliche soap scene from decades past, showing us that soaps do not have a clue about writing for today's audiences. And oh, we also got more Sheila squinting.
  21. Whoa....this show gets worse all the time. The Dear John letter from Dimitri? Jesus. Janet Spellman-Drucker must be taking EP memos on "How to Make a Wrecked Soap Even More Wrecked." And you know your soap is in trouble when Paulina is played 5x a week.
  22. Please spare me any comments about Tanner Novlan's acting when I have to watch the mess that Kimberlin Brown did on screen today. Not only did we get the "Sheila is squinting again" routine, but now she's stammering and stuttering. Just awful.
  23. I said it from the beginning -- Natalia is homophobic. Eva LaRue has made excuses for the character in interviews, trying to explain her way out of the idea that Natalia isn't a decent person, but it didn't work for me. I don't think it's a good look for actors to make excuses for awful character flaws. The writing for the story is just bad. Natalia is worried about a photo of a pregnant Kristina alongside Blaze getting out? Has she seen the damn internet??? That pic could be explained away in a minute. Besides, it's a nothingburger that very few people would even care about. Face it, they've created an ugly character in Natalia.
  24. This OCD story with Connor. My God, make it stop. This is a PSA, not a storyline.
  25. The Tripp and Wendy goodbye scenes could not have been more boring.
