-- Kristina's reaction to Sonny beating Dex was so over-the-top ridiculous that I have no words. Has she been living under a rock? -- So Chase is shirtless but Brook Lynn is wrapped to her upper neck in a humongous white bathrobe. How sad that writers are planning this kind of thing to give in to stupefying demands by actors calling the shots. -- Today's episode was a weird choice for the Gregory montage. Is he dying after closing his eyes, or someday soon? Regardless, GH is not going to show the devastation of ALS, so I can't give them any credit for this story at all. Don't give characters terminal illnesses when you're just going to punk out at the end.

Agreed. We're on the same page with this.

Maurice Benard was worse today than usual, and that's saying a lot. He comes off like a complete caricature of a mob boss, and it's embarrassing. Dex didn't fight back, but that seems like a Dex move. Still, THAT was the climax to the wedding and to the week??? Maybe I should be grateful it wasn't Brook Lynn and Chase hitting the marital bed fully-clothed.

GH: Mulcahey OUT!
Yeah, "We know things" makes a lot of appearances. If they can't or won't tell us what they know, I don't want to hear it.

It makes no sense to me that Abby would go against her own husband on this power grab. I hate that, and I hate the idea that Jill would Turn all that power over to Billy when for YEARS she's made clear that she doesn't trust Billy with too much control. I also hate these "board meetings" being held in Lily's tiny office. All those bodies in that room look absurd.

GH: Mulcahey OUT!
Errol, I do understand that "allegedly" is a CYA word. My problem is when it's used appropriately to CYA and when it's used in the most ridiculous way. An example: "Word is that some actors are unhappy with the show's direction...or should I say ALLEGEDLY unhappy." Is there any logical reason to use allegedly there? No one's facing legal action for a generic statement like that. On that podcast, It's used all over the place.

GH: Mulcahey OUT!
I'll be honest. I hate this kind of posting. If you know something, spill it. If you won't name names, just be quiet. And just stop with the "allegedly" bulls_hit. If you listen to The Chat podcast, you'll hear "allegedly" a dozen+ times -- whether it makes sense or not. I'm so tired of these soap insiders who claim they know sTuff and then won't say it out loud.

GH: Mulcahey OUT!
This deification of Patrick Mulcahey is too much for me. Great scriptwriter? Yes -- we have proof of that. We do not have proof that he's a great head writer or even a capable one. We do have evidence that GH -- in my opinion -- is not working right now. I have no idea of story direction or story existence. I have no idea of what's going on with all these "career changes," especially for the women. I have no idea why this cast is still beyond bloated. Is PM to blame for any of that? I don't know, but I can't give him credit for any good changes and blame others for everything that's wrong. How does he get credit for a sensitive, nuanced Tracy and no blame for a former cover model who becomes a cook? A huge chunk of audience has left since PM started, and we all know that heads roll when that happens. If Mulcahey was the writer fighting Valentini, Korte, Van Etten, Varni, and everyone else, then it's obvious he's the one to go. No, I don't know or have any hope the show will be "good" without him, but I do know it isn't good with him. "His stories haven't started yet" doesn't work for me. This transition has been a disaster. I don't put stock in ANYTHING actors said about PM, or in anything they'll say about the new team. It's all transactional for them, and they want to keep their jobs. They say what they have to say to remain employed. Mulcahey was never going to have control over Valentini and Korte, who have been at GH forever. We thought he'd be the GH savior, but he wasn't. Is that because he wasn't given enough power? Maybe, but that's irrelevant. Expecting a 70+ year old guy to work miracles within a structure like the one at GH was never going to happen.

-- This version of Claire is a snooze. I have no problem with her being a decent person, but this lack of energy is deadly to watch. -- Looks like Connor Floyd has been dropped to recurring, so I wouldn't be surprised if we get a Summer/Kyle/Claire triangle. Does that excite me? No. -- Tessa's long, drawn-out conversation with Daniel at Society had me nodding off. Watching paint dry is more exciting. Awful. -- I do not care AT ALL about Connor's OCD. It's all offscreen, so why should I care? He's punching himself? Watching Chelsea and Adam cry and wail about that is not a storyline. -- Danny and Christine are "going on tour"? Fine. Anything to get them off my screen. Josh Griffith took a decent idea and AGAIN screwed it up.- B&B May 2024 Discussion Thread
Hehe I took the exact same screenshot from my TV today! That tight t-shirt is awesome, but those slacks....I mean, come on! No one fills out a pair of slacks like Joshua Hoffman. The cake is bountiful, and that package is special.- GH: May 2024 Discussion Thread
-- I agree it was a mistake to make Gregory's illness the focus of the ceremony. WE all know he's sick and going to die. Why not do that after the ceremony? -- The line yesterday about Monica was "She still has pneumonia." I almost did a spit-take when I heard that. -- The set looked small and cramped to me. I was surprised since GH usually does grand things with sets. -- Tracy looked great, but Lois' outfit was a complete misfire. The bad hat, the huge flower, the ostentatious jewelry, the pants. They went for a cliche Lois instead of letting her shine. -- Speaking of cliches, that was the entire episode. Every damn cliche that's ever been uttered during a soap wedding was uttered in this episode. The actors saved some of it, but overall it didn't work for me. After all this buildup, I expected more.- B&B May 2024 Discussion Thread

Shallow Alert: Did anyone see RJ today? Holy hell, what a slab of beef.- 9-1-1
That scene was perfection, and so hot. I watched it half a dozen times hehe- GH: May 2024 Discussion Thread
-- Agree about the wedding. It's taken so long to get here. I hardly cared before, but I care even less now. The previews showed a quick shot of Lois at the wedding. I hope her hair isn't as bad as I think it is. -- Yes, that "cliffhanger" wasn't. It all seems intentional to me, because the Ava/Jagger scene made so much more sense as the closing scene. I really think they believe they're doing something different, something intentional and against the grain, something unexpected. It doesn't work. -- "The scenes are longer and the dialogue is better" just isn't enough for me. This transition has been a mess. Chem testing new couples? I'm good with that, but not with so many characters at once. The same goes for job changing. -- I have no idea where this show is going, and the proof is that we're talking so much about who's really in charge BTS.- GH: May 2024 Discussion Thread
