Oookay I’ll be watching out for that and see if there is any change in the writing style. it may seem like a weird critique but I would like to see the storylines be a bit more isolated. Not too isolated because that’s not good either, and I get that mostly everyone on the canvas is related but sometimes it feels like they’re all a little too involved in each others business and I don’t need that in order to buy that they’re a close knit family. Keep the stories separate. So, for example if something is going on with Chelsea or Kat I would 100% expect to see scenes with their mom/dads but I don’t need cousins, and aunts and uncles all getting involved. A good example of this is the character of Naomi. She is just all over the place and in everyone else’s orbit but doesn’t seem to have much going on herself. Give her and Jacob something juicy and good and spend the time building momentum. I don’t need endless talking scenes with relatives who are frankly irrelevant to the progression of story. JMO !

Having a back from the dead S/L for such a minor character like Damien who has been on the show for about all of 5 minutes would NOT be entertaining and would certainly add to the ridiculousness that has already taken place. Holden was always the better of the 2 new men they brought in this year anyways. If they were gonna kill any character I’d rather it be Damien. I didn’t feel he added much of anything to the show. I would bring Chance back but I’d give it a couple years. Killing off a legacy character was dumb but I’d rather move on from this BS as soon as possible after we get some good scenes from Nina and Jill.. (who am I kidding, we probably wouldn’t even get that).

Does anyone know when the first episode with the new head writers will air?

Also, did not realize Ashley and the fireman broke up. This date with her and Andre is rather boring. Is Derek still even on the show, anyways? Ooooh I see a triangle brewing here between Kat and Eva or this Tomas guy. I definitely see potential here with continuing to build that rivalry between them. Still. I wish everything wasn’t millennial grey. Sigh. So many of the sets look too similar. Some color would be nice!

Who are these June and Regina characters? I know they’re new cause they weren’t on when I started watching earlier this year. I’m intrigued. Love love love that they’ve decided to expand the cast and showcase different storylines. This is going to keep me watching

I agree and I definitely preferred John Driscoll as well. I just think it’s such a bad move to kill off an important character like Chance. I don’t particularly love or enjoy MO as Abby but I’d be just as p*ssed if they killed her off given how much potential that character could still have.

It’s pretty dumb that it’s being written that Phyllis is still this huge obstacle for Nick & Sharon all these years later. Faith, Noah and even Summer being obstacles for them? Sure. That would make more sense. Look at all the drama Nick, Adam, Victoria & Abby brought for the Nikki and Victor relationship over the years. I don’t get why the show isn’t tapping into that.

Killing Chance is just stupid. Just because JG doesn’t know how to write for the character doesn’t mean he should have been killed off. What is even the point? Killing Damien was just as dumb although I really had no connection to his character as he just came on in February so that bothers me less, but still.

Decided to tune back in but I did a time jump instead of starting off where I left off (around April). Starting at the July 15th episode. Right off the bat I am wondering why Martin and Smittys children look so old.

Also speaking of Theresa, has there ever been a bigger thirst bucket in soap opera history? There was a scene around 2002 where she was literally clinging onto Ethan’s leg while begging and crying for him not to leave her. That must have been humiliating for Lindsay Hartley to play day in, and day out..

Justin Hartley was always a favourite of mine as Fox. He had chemistry with everyone in the show. Aside from his obvious chemistry with Lindsay Hartley, I also loved the scenes with Ben Masters. The father/son dynamic between Julian and Fox was great to watch because they’re both such good actors that you could almost ignore the ridiculous writing for awhile. It’s too bad JH didnt last long in the show but he went to do bigger and better things so I can’t blame him. .. and speaking of course corrections in the show, I think Theresa and Fox should have been one. They had insane chemistry and we know obviously they ended up being a couple in real life so maybe that had something to do with it, but they really should have pushed Fox & Theresa more instead of making the triangle all about Gwen and Theresa fighting over Ethan. There was really no need to bring in Jared later in the show when Fox and Theresa already had such a strong fan base. Instead they ended up putting Fox with Kay which was a total bore.

Noah and Fancy definitely should have ended up together in the end & Sheridan and Luis of course. Noah and Fancy just made sense as a couple and had obvious chemistry. I also didn’t see the chemistry when Noah was put with Paloma..

Today’s CDN episode with Nick and Sharon is a tear jerker. As sh*tty as this whole storyline is once again JM & SC are bringing it! Their chemistry is undeniable

So Ron Carlivati is pitching a new soap opera? Consider me out of the loop because I don’t know much about his work but I’d love to know more about this!

Fabulous news. I’m not a Days watcher anymore and haven’t been for years but this is good news for soap fans all around!

Is there really any truth to the rumours of him coming to Y&R? I’m not familiar with his work. I was never an ABC soap watcher. I’ll take anything other than JG though at this point..

I actually like that idea of a recap episode weekly. CBS needs to reach out to Ali on YRChat from YouTube. She’s always enthusiastic about the show even when the show sucks a**. She’s just the type of person who would hype up the show for them week after week 😂 She has been recapping Y&R every WEEK since 2008.

Was totally getting Passions vibes with this S/L like the “who killed Alistair Crane” storyline. At least in that storyline all the characters had motive. He was the most hated character on the show by all the characters. Who tf would wanna kill Damien? It makes zero sense.

Whitney & Chad hooking up as brother and sister is another one. We could go on and on about Passions storylines being inappropriate though… 🤭

Sharon and Victor 🤢 Speaking of Passions, another one could be Theresa stealing Gwen’s embryos and then drugging Ethan & sleeping with him while wearing a blonde wig to get herself pregnant again after she believed to have lost Gwen’s baby.

Michael & Lauren were in today’s CDN episode, but yeah it’s pretty hilarious that we’re supposed to believe they’ve been there this whole time when they’ve barely been on.

So Nick & Sharon are being held captive in some dirty old room. Oh goodie, it’s not like we’ve seen this before!

Theres this really strange person who posts under all the Passions episodes talking about made up characters and storylines that never actually happened in the show. It’s like a fan fiction fantasy in their head & that name sounds familiar so I think it could be them 🤣
