  1. We might assume that Lloyd Gold was fired given he hasn't written a breakdown since 6/21 and they've added Nigel and Cathy to the outline team.
  2. Korte is equally responsible if not more as she's been there consistently for 30 something years and has been the right hand of several head writing regimes in the last 20 years. She needs to go along with Valentini.
  3. If one hasn't seen Yates' Jamie debut episode, one must find it and watch it. He shows up to the mansion in the shortest, white, hot pants I've ever seen on a man let alone a daytime character in any decade except maybe some Bill Bell Y&R/B&B characters. His white shorts rival a GL episode that featured Carl Tye Evans as Alan-Michael in scenes with Harley. He's chucking flicks up his you know what throughout the episode. I loved Yates but he was never convincing as a straight romantic lead. His role as Jamie would have been a perfect opportunity for the show to play the gay story that Lemay wanted to tell years earlier.
  4. Marla Kanalos wrote July 8 and 15th Y&R scripts. badummmmbummm Maybe Steve Kent will make some positive changes including firing the entire existing writing team.
  5. Y&R July 12 episode that was posted on YouTube this morning: Dave Ryan (from Days) listed as script writer. I guess he was let go from Days to make room for Dan O'Connor....Since Days tapes 8 months ahead, and YR doesn't, his name (if he's under contract at Young) will appear on both shows for a while. Dave also wrote 7/12 Days script.
  6. I've been watching soaps for decades and I've lived through several writers' strikes. I'm always fascinated by the names that pop up in the writers' credits for the various shows post strike. Now, of course, I don't have inside knowledge of the most recent staffing on the shows but it's so curious to see all these newbies, production staff and associates whose names appear. To name a few (discounting fi core i.e. James H. Brown): GH: Peter Killeen, Nigel Campbell YR: Lyndsey Harrison (lasted six episodes post strike); Madeleine Phillips (JG assistant who may have already written her last script in June) BB: Sarah Perna (production assistant on the show for the last few years).
  7. Today's episode has been posted on YouTube. Chris Dunn wrote the script. Alaar still listed but I don't believe she's written an episode since May 30. I tried to watch but I got vertigo staring at Kayla's outfit against the Horton living room curtains.
  8. That's possible given his connection to MVJ, but my gut tells me that the team behind that new show has more diverse (and younger) choices. PM's longest writing stint was Santa Barbara, I think, where he worked with Ken, and now that Kent is directly in charge of the failing and horrible Y&R I could see PM going over there to do scripts and that show desperately needs another veteran writer.
  9. I know but I'm talking date his name first appeared in credits, March 15
  10. Writer contracts typically go in 13 week cycles. PM's first 13 weeks ended June 13. It'll be interesting to see if his name remains through week 26 (Sept 12) which I doubt given reports that his material airs through "mid-summer." I wonder if Steve Kent will hire him for Y&R as script writer/consultant.
  11. Wonder if Charlotte Gibson is out. She hasn't written a script since June 14. Gold hasn't written a breakdown since June 21
  12. GH: Frank and Nathan need to go YR: Josh, Steve, Amanda need to go
  13. Love Colleen but the show sucks https://www.thedailybeast.com/why-aunt-jordan-from-the-young-and-the-restless-is-the-best-villain-on-tv?ref=home?ref=home
  14. Here, here. Y&R is beyond bad, worse that Days. Nothing about the show works. Period. I can't speak for Bold as I've never been able to get through an episode since Brad Bell took over and it wasn't great before that.
  15. Marin G listed again this week in two episodes above the script writer. I'm almost certain she's writing outlines as well as scripts. No matter, the show is so terrible. Sad to see how low it's gone even in the last few months.
  16. This clip is actually from Xmas show 1981 not 1982 but I believe Ellis/Hunt came in during December 1981 and left in December 1982, replaced by outline writer David Cherrill. I was surprised to see "Jackson Chase" listed as head writer in these 1981 credits. I believe it was Cherrill's pseudonym. Does anyone know for sure? I know David, Courtney Simon and Millie Taggart all used fake names in the early years of their soap writing career. Courtney and Millie both confirmed this on Locher Room broadcast that they used fake names when writing under Ellils/Hunt on the Doctors. I believe Millie used KC Collier on ATWT when she first started writing that show with Tom King. I also thought Ellis/Hunt did very good work in 1982 and should not have been let go. They needed a new EP (Fred B was old guard who needed to go) but the casting was great with the exception of David Gale who was a great actor but not sexy and miscast for Stephanie and The Sentell plots. I loved early Warren, Brian, Linda G in her role. Sad that P&G and NBC kept ruining the show with writer producer switches. Sets were great, music, directing was amazing with Dunlap and Schwarz.
  17. NuGabi: no, no, no unless they're planning to feature an anorexia plot Newish Tate: no, no, no, reminds me of Guy Wilson. I'd rather watch paint dry unless it's on a Spellman-Drucker approved set like revamped Horton living room where I believe they used the Guy Wilson era curtains. That set is positively stomach churning. Janet Drucker is worse than Albert.
  18. Nice news as it'll give Genie some great scenes but JJ never carried the show the way other stars have over the years. And with Korte/Valentini in charge this arrival will not save the show from being unwatchable most of the time.
  19. No. Gold only joined ATWT in the last year after GL cancelled. 12the episode with no Cathy LePard
  20. I wonder if Cathy LePard is out; she hasn't written an episode in two weeks.
  21. Steve Kent first listed as Executive In Charge in 6/20 Y&R episode. His title card is placed in the opening scenes just before the director credit. The show can only get worse with him fully involved.
  22. Phideau Xavier back as GH director on 6/17. Last episode he directed was 9/22/23.
