Dena Higley and the vile Gary Tomlin do not get enough hate on this board. I wish y’all had this hatred energy for them. Maybe here but he does have fans across the internet. Again, your level of hatred for Higley, Tomlin, Sheffer, and Griffith should be much, much higher than your hatred for Ron.

Not trolling. Just pointing out that those soaps were boring. Ron’s soaps are exciting. As I said, he brings the camp and outrageousness that Days is well known for. Reilly is my hero and Ron comes pretty close. I had to wait over a decade for my soap to get proper writing again so of course I’m going to be in Ron’s corner.

I disagree. He’s the best we’ve got and more importantly he writes Days properly. Days isn’t supposed to be written like a boring Proctor and Gamble soap.

Keep reading, I laid out why he is. Sheffer, Higley, MarDar, Griffith, and especially TomSell were destructive hacks. Days still hasn’t recovered from those runs.

Has Heather shared scenes with Adam yet? I was a huge fan of that couple when it was Chris Engen. Amazing chemistry.

It’s how I feel. Ron is the first person to emulate JER’s writing since Sally and the first one to actually pull it off. I love that he prefers Bonnie to Adrienne. I love that he loves John and Marlena, the King and Queen of the show. I love that he brings back my faves (Eileen’s Susan, Sister Mary Moira, and Thomas; Billie; Bonnie and Mimi; Dr. Rolf; Laura; Jan; Vivian and Ivan; Carrie and Austin; Craig and Nancy; Jay’s Philip; Jack; Shane and Drew, etc). The only ones he hasn’t brought back yet are Patsy Pease and Tanya Boyd. I love that he writes outrageous, over the top, campy stories with larger-than-life characters like Leo. I don’t have any complaints about his Days writing. The only thing I hate about Ron is from OLTL when he turned my girl Marty Thornhart into a psycho killer and then, in her final scene, trolled the audience by having Roger Howarth hiding behind a bush behind Marty and not allowing them to interact. I’m still bitter about that. At least the current GH writers fixed Marty with just a quick line of dialogue.

I liked that the real Marlena was the real killer and her victims were really dead. I never believed that Deidre was being written off so I knew JER would keep her around in some capacity after Marlena’s execution. Prior to the Marlena reveal, Corday said in an interview that the killer would be put on trial and executed. JER loved Deidre and would’ve had her play a different role to keep her on the show.

Great. Free feel to tune out. But I shouldn’t be denied my favourite character.

Sheila is iconic. I’m gay and KB’s views don’t bother me because they don’t impact her ability to play the part. We’ve also entered an age of hardcore shipping like we’ve never seen before. In the 90s I would have excitedly welcomed a character like Sheila to come in and generate story for my couple.

How is Ron a problem? He’s the best head writer this show has had since JER in 2006.

She’s a vet. Of course she should be controlling story. But again, I also think she’d have more opportunities at Y&R. They desperately need Sheila, their most iconic villainess of all time, back in Genoa City stirring the pot. I don’t like Finn or Steffy so for me this story is just a waste of Kimberlin’s talents.

I just wish they’d utilize her better by bringing on any of the following: Lauren Scotty Mary Diana Ryder Daisy Lucy James Maggie Personally I think she has more story potential on Y&R (unless Bold starts utilizing her history with Eric) but I will watch either show.

Worse for who? As someone who doesn’t mind Leo, I don’t need him in a romantic relationship. I would like to see him used as the Ivan to Theresa’s Vivian.

It’s ok to not like her, but I do.

Diana Colville was created to replace Marlena on Days. Isabella was created to replace Diana.

This show has 32 contract characters. 90% don’t belong on the show. Because there are so many actors on contract, they have low guarantees which means stories don’t get the appropriate amount of screentime, making stories choppy and full of missed beats. Leo isn’t even the worst character on the show. For me, the biggest problem with this show is the cast followed by production values and dialogue/script editing.

Trying to apply real life years to SORASing never works. Just go with it.

They could’ve rebooted him by making him Jarlena’s ‘86 baby.

Has Days’ garbage script editor Fran Meyer been replaced through the strike?

John and Marlena are this show’s centerpiece super couple and they barely air. Hopefully that changes once Janet’s production begins to air. Out of the current crop of characters who would you cut? I’d get rid of Stephanie, Patch, Kayla, Tripp, Wendy, EJ, Ava, Harris, Rafe, Sarah, Xander, Brady, Maggie, Roman, Chad, and Alex. Yeah that’s a lot but there are plenty of characters they could bring back and plenty of kids to SORAS like Noah and Sydney.

It’s pitiful that Drake only aired twice last month. Days should be ashamed.

If Judith is back as Anjelica, who would you cast as the new Diana Colville? I would go with Kim Johnston Ulrich.

Why would Judith being back mean Peter is back? We also don’t know which character she is playing yet. She could be back as Anjelica for Alex especially now that Justin is married to Bonnie.
