  1. I definitely enjoy the "Abbott-centric" episodes way more than the Newman ones which tend to just be retreads on who's taking over what company and Victor wagging his finger at his children. Still enjoying Esther being sassy at the coffeehouse. She should be the town's new gossip hound.
  2. I remember being very excited when Michael Malone was hired as HW since I really enjoyed his first stint at OLTL, but as mentioned, none of the stories clicked. I especially hated that Alexander Nikos story. I think I even remember SB flirting with the idea of turning Minx Lockridge (the second actress to portray the role) into some sort of New Age-y type character...which came out of nowhere.
  3. For me it was when DAYS started to turn Ben, the serial killer, into a hero. Even with all the insanity of the show's usual plots, that one was too much for me. It made all the characters involved in his story idiots: Ciara, Marlena, etc. I've never been a regular viewer since.
  4. It's hard to buy Shelia as this sexy seductress after all she's done. So, what happened to Luna, the new girl? Did they already drop her to "recurring" after two episodes?
  5. B&B also has many episodes with only six characters, but it's half as long. Only six actors for an hour episode really sticks out and becomes boring very quickly for me.
  6. I noticed that there were only a total of six characters on the show today. I've been noticing more and more episodes with fewer characters. I wonder how much is budget and how much is creative.
  7. So true! The show used to be such trashy fun back then. Now, I swear that ChatGPT is writing the show.
  8. Audra tends to be the highlight of the show. I would LOVE for them to explore more of her backstory. A lot of it has to do with the actress, of course. She's able to elevate the material to something far better than what's written. Just her eyes and facial expressions alone convey so much. I love how she just dumped Kyle, but I, too, suspect that they're not completely over yet.
  9. Does anyone have any insight on what the actual ratings for the show were? I'd be very curious! I remember in my market they aired the show right after Santa Barbara which had recently premiered. Later, the show was moved to a morning timeslot.
  10. ITA. It's getting very old. I kept wondering why Victoria doesn't just quit. It's not like she'd starve or that there aren't a multitude of other random corporations in town she could get a job with.
  11. I think this story was the last time I was really into the show.
  12. I've been wanting them to go with a Summer/Chance pairing. It would be interesting to bring Abby/Devon into that equation as well. I still wish we could get one single episode where characters didn't talk about mergers and acquisitions of vague companies.
  13. So, I watched the first episode of the reboot without seeing any of the show in the past. I was curious to check it out, and it's kind of wild...as someone else mentioned...that there is a new daily soap available. There were parts I liked, and I can appreciate the use of what appear to be veteran actors in the story. That said, I found it a bit hard to get into as a brand new viewer, and at times, it didn't hold my attention. Obviously, there was the big wedding twist, but as a new viewer, that didn't really grab me. There is sooo much backstory obviously. I do wonder if a show like this may work better if it started with more of a clean slate...brand new stories/ characters with some veteran characters for the returning viewer...sort of like Dallas did. I'll give it a few more episodes to see if it ropes me in. I'm wondering if there are any other brand new viewers, like myself, and their take on it. I wonder if the show would be Daytime Emmy eligible since it streams in the US and is produced by Amazon. It would be great to see more than the "last four" in the US represented.
  14. That was such a creepy storyline twist. Victor had always been a father-figure to Sharon, and to have this story happened, felt sooooo weird and wrong.
  15. So sad. I always hoped he may return to Y&R one day. While JT is a great actor, he's never really felt like Billy Abbott to me like Billy Miller did.
  16. Aging Parker and Sydney at the same time would have made sense, too.
  17. I love Audra! I wish they'd give us some of her backstory.
  18. Poor Hope. Even thought Los Angeles county has ten million people, the only person available for her to have sexy time with is her step-brother/stalker who told her once that her child was dead. Makes total sense.
  19. Agreed! I also love watching Esther read Adam for filth this week!
  20. Would love to see Paul and Andrew full-time! Add Sonny and Will to the mix and you'd have a chance for some great drama to happen.
  21. I wondered who this Ginge character was that popped up out of nowhere. The scene felt out of place, but it also totally came off as if this guy had a crush on RJ! At least we've gotten a break from Liam and Wyatt making weird "bro faces" at each other.
  22. It's super disappointing if true. She was so good in the role! But, they didn't allow the character to develop beyond the never ending Brooke/Ridge vortex.
  23. The only thing I can think of for this story to really work is if Eric reasserted his authority which led to a huge showdown between Eric and Ridge...with Eric firing Ridge. Frankly, I could use a "Ridge break" myself. He's on every single day.
  24. Paul! Yes!!! I wish we could have him back full-time.
  25. When Steffy said that line about maybe asking her mom to join them in Europe, I had the same reaction...oh, no! KA was like a breath of fresh air to the show when she joined, and she sparkles in every scene she's in. I hate to see how she's being wasted. It just makes no sense. Taylor, Bill, Katie, Zende, Carter, Eric (who's only now getting a small storyline) get practically no screentime. Instead it's just day in and day out the same conversations and scenes with Liam, Hope, Steffy, Ridge, Brooke...over and over again. All these other actors are on contract, I assume. So, they're being paid anyway. Why doesn't the show use them?
