It’s a hot take but: Nikki & Victor from Y&R! Marlena and John on DAYS!!! Ugh..

I’ve finally managed to get through March 1981 (complete)! I get that LnL was THE super couple and fan favorites.. I even get that this show was on fire.. But WAS IT? In November 80 we got Alexandria Quartermaine and the beginning of the Ice Princess and the search for it. We are in March and we are still not closer to it. I know it’s a soap and soap like to drag things out but THAT long? I wish I could slap every single one that mentions the ice Princess and I’m only in the beginning. UGH. I even thought about a drinking game and taking a shot whenever they mention it. Only movement was Emma Lutz! It was hilarious and I really felt sorry for her and the way Luke played her for a fool. That actress knocked it off so perfectly. Wish she would be a regular on the show. the 2nd movement was that we learned that Tony Castle is Tony Cassadine! Robert agreed to a alliance with him to find the ice Princess. Wow. But I did enjoy Tony/Lesley dates. They have chemistry. But Rick being jealous makes him so unlikeable. I know Rick Webber was a fan favorite but I think he was a jerk. He destroyed his marriage and had an affair with Monica. He didn’t care for anyone but himself and his needs. The minute it came out that Alan JR was not his he dumped Monica. How can anyone like that tool? I mean Rick has his moments but he is a jerk! March 81 and we finally wrapped up Jeff Webbers run! I was upset to see him leave coz Robin/Heather and Richard/Jeff had potential for juicy soap drama. But u could tell that Richard was phoning it in with his last few months and that he was so over GH! What a shame. But good for his acting career though. Joe Kelly kinda annoyed me even though I love his character! He tried to find evidence against Heather and her involvement in Diana’s death. He popped up everywhere and questioned Sarah and mostly Amy. Plus point for me was that it gave Amy some Involvements in that big story as Heather’s best friend even though she couldn’t keep her mouth shut about the secrets. The way Joe questioned Amy and followed her around was quiet the harassment in my opinion. That was a bit too much. Only the Jeff story was great and some of Emma Lutz/Luke was entertaining but overall it was such a mediocre month. Howard is off to London to reconcile with Dorie. I wonder if this was his final exit. Susan Moore and Alan’s affair was juicy ! I love Monica/Alan but Susan is the only other women I can accept on his side. They have chemistry and work well together! I mean who is Monica to judge if Alan is happy and keeping it a secret from her. That chick had an entire relationship with Rick behind his back and thought Alan Junior was Rick’s for months lol Susan got pregnant! This means she is pregnant with Jason “Stone Cold” Morgan/Q here I wonder if the contract dispute with J.E. (Tracy Q) didn’t happened if the ice Princess story still would happened and if the story still would’ve happened if it was Tracy in Alexandria’s place instead.?

Why do they turned Mackenzie into such a jerk. He worked so hard to built up a relationship with Charity and now he went astray and stuff. UK Soaps are more unbalanced and inconsistent as the US ones. Holy [!@#$%^&*]

I’m really proud of the way they handle the “consent” story of Amy. BUT Aaron was the wrong character to chose for that story. I mean we followed him through that annoying Summer-Baby Stuff and saw such a good guy. I know that under influence of alcohol or drugs you are not in your right mind and do things u normally wouldn’t. But this was so unnecessary to ruin Aaron’s character like that. i feel sorry for the actor that he had to keep up months with Summer’s story just to be turned into a rapist !

I wonder why they start with 2012… But it was a great year for Neighbours tbh. I really loved Troy, Jade, Kyle

Spectras on B&B was a genius addition that drove the canvas until Bradley decided they were unworthy of being used.

1986… The whole Jill/John divorce was so well written. It got me hooked when I first watched it back in early 2000’s when someone burned them for me on dvd’s. The who shot Jill-story was also a favorite of mine.. Jack Abbott (Terry) was such a gem too for that show. my second favorite year of Y&R is probably 2007. (Please don’t judge me but I was a teen during that time and it got me excited) The whole exit of Dru shocked me to the bones. I liked Colleen’s storylines 2006-2007 John’s Death was the end Of an era. But I do think they handled it well. Nick’s plane crash and return was one of my favorite storylines of all time. I’m a shick fan and when he thought that he was still married to Sharon. Oh my god those feels and goosebumps 🤣

I don’t think so. Soaps won’t die. Maybe in the old fashioned way on a daytime/evening line up. But primetime shows getting more and more Serial with the old fashioned style of cliffhanger endings and stuff. Soaps get streamed heavily. i think if the Neighbours return this year on Amazon/ Freeve will be a success then this will lead to a bright future for soaps.

Nothing big was going on for the 35th anniversary coz the network stated; They don’t want to show Home and Aways age and stuff. In other words they don’t give a damn about that show being 35 years on the air. As long as it gets good/solid ratings and makes some money it’s all good but don’t expect us to invest for an anniversary. Be thankful it’s still on! I kinda see Neighbours low budget from the 2010’s up until 2022 in a different and more appreciating way now.

My favorite will always be Taylor Hayes return from the dead in 1994 as Princess! Frisco on GH in like 88/89-ish if I remember correctly. I also liked Nick Newman’s return from the plane crash in 2007. Brenda on GH in 2002-2003 Greenlee on AMC! Project Orpheus will always be my favorite part of AMC final years worst: Nearly every dead person on Days of our lives! That show killed my interest in back from the dead!

Currently watching September 2009.. Damn I forgot how annoying that Gaz Bennett guy was. His racist obsession with Anita still makes no sense to me after 13 years. He hated her but wanted to sleep with her in that Forrest house ? Ok? The Roy family was quiet on their way out by that time and I can’t say it was a shame. Only one I miss is Leila. Ravi was weird.. It’s weird that even though it took the writers 1-2 more years before Darren/Nancy got together there were quiet some hints. He was married to Hannah (my favorite female character of all time from the 00’s with Louise) and that Nancy/Darren teasing and bickering was already going on there. I don’t know if they already planned something there but there has always been something going on with some teasing and bickering. I looked back at all of Darren’s women… The best one out of all was and is still Hannah. I wish Emma would return to that show as Hannah Ashworth!

Brooke side gets repeated from the beginning on STV Player… Even the press reported about it. I’m quiet surprised that they are making such a big deal about some repeats. They didn’t so something like this when EasyEnders, Corrie, ED started repeats on Drama Channel. I think there is something bigger going on

The 5 weeks later Kinda ruined the mood tbh. But it was a solid season premiere OH MY GOD! The old faces: Sass, Kat and Brooke! That weird Bright Shine speech on television was too much. I’m so over that plot

Or buy the show on dvd? The whole 1972- July 1974 are officially on dvd in 5 volumes

I feel sorry for Alyssa! Today was another one of those episodes where Joy and Whoopie just wouldn’t give her some screentime. They always tried to shut her down during her sentences! Only time they were quiet was when Chelsea Handler came on! The way they treat Alyssa gives me some Elizabeth Hasselbeck Flashbacks! It’s starting to become a Elizabeth 2.0-scenario!

Amber and Rick from The Bold and the Beautiful! I never really felt Jacob and Adrienne but still liked them. But when Justin took over. Oh hallelujah! They had chemistry! Adam/Chelsea on Y&R! I really liked the first version but with Hartley it was put on to a whole another level!
