Having re-watched the first-half of it, several times, during Amazon's "live" General Hospital channel, I can tell you that Ainsworth was heavily featured in lead-up to the storyline and during the storyline, up to the point where Jason "kidnapped" her unconscious-self. Right around the time of her "kidnapping" they introduced Harmony/Tree into the storyline, and that's where is really began going off-the-rails.

Love the support he's getting from his cast mates; you can tell how much they do really care for him, and want him to do well in his exit.

Removing the A/C helped a bit, thankfully.

I agree; plus, Ainsworth was a recur-guest (barely used post-DUD storyline), and Mansi (as you noted) was immediately thrust into a front-burning storyline.

I would assume Beyond the Gates would do well in the streaming era. Especially on Paramount+/YouTube, and I can only assume Paramount/CBS will be pulling their best efforts to push the serial on streaming. When I look at Paramount+ (logged out), I do see Y&R/B&B pretty predominately.

We need Shirley back to knock some damned sense into Linda... she's the only one I think that could do it.

I remember the sorry-ass excuse Frank gave Rena for not providing a long-term contract. It was bull. Rena should be on contract and having a storyline beyond Gio/Violet/changing her damn accent for TV appearances we don't even see.

Drew & Tree can go to wherever he needs to be as a Senator. Saescher & Michael can go somewhere else.

The Valentini era feels like the first time where she is wanted for HER and not for Geary, except for that one-time ABC demoted her. Well, we know she got her summers off, and good for her. She deserves them. Oh, Swickard is completely Hallmark material... but part of me feels like he'd be more inclined to go to Jesus Network with Mathison over the more liberal-leaning Hallmark.

And I would assume Genie Francis.

You would think you would not want to lose any of your long-standing cast members... but ABC has a history at GH, so... 🤐

If it has not happened on Peacock (which they said they were supposedly working on), I doubt YouTube would work.

Or Valentini cut him, saw what happened with Kelly Monaco's firing, and decided to let Duell make this announcement? Either way, it's a genuine shocker.

He said it the right time for him to move on from the role. I'm not surprised, especially where his girlfriend is returning to work and his son is growing up. Likely wants to spend time with him, and maybe book other roles? PRAYING it is Robert Adamson, who I've named for the role for YEARS to be a full-time recast (even though I don't dislike Chad Duell). It'd be the easiest fit, especially considering he's pinch-hit several tmes.
