- ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
Tonya Pinkins (ATWT & GL, et al) & Susan Lucci (AMC) are attached to My First Ex-Husband, by The View's Joy Behar.- BTG: History, Behind the Scenes Articles & Photos
I don't think it's crass; it's a viable question, and I feel like we'd have the same question(s) if any actor of his age were cast in a new role on a new soap opera. But, then again, we could also say the same about someone half his age. I mean, Santa Barbara went through four different actors in the role of C.C. Capwell before Jed Allan was cast in 1986. Even Y&R had two different John Abbott actors before Jerry Douglas, and they were all at younger ages than Davis. If he's viable and up for it, then I say hooray! His casting was a "get" for sure.- ALL: Popular Actors playing Unpopular Characters
Vee that is fantastic news! I've been hoping for positive things for you! Yeah, pretty sure Park is happy with his once-in-a-lifetime daytime role in Jack Snyder. EXACTLY! The writing was not there; Diane visited earlier in the year, and it was clear that's all it was meant to be. But then, suddenly, Diane is back by the year's end?! I don't think there was ever an intent for Diane's late 2010 return, regardless if it had been West, Susan Walters and/or someone else in the role. I feel like Wright would have been hired to just play Casey (who I do have some recast ideas of), and Phelps would call it a day. 🤣 I also don't visually see Wright at Y&R.. the acting style isn't there, unless Jessica Collins was fired and they brought her in as Avery (in an attempt to pair Wright with Steve Burton's Dylan). I agree. But I feel like she's doing well in primetime/streaming roles. But it is weird, to me, that Avery came and gone so quickly. Another Arena creation that was removed (and kind of rightfully so).- GH: January 2025 Discussion Thread

She can turn shït into gold unlike any other. That's a masterclass in acting that I feel is missing in new, upcoming talent today. Her hiring was all CBS. Even West admitted her hiring was CBS; Sony/Y&R were recasting Diane (and de-aging the role), CBS wanted West to stay on the network and she accepted the role as it was offered to her. If I remember correctly: it was reported Maria Arena never wanted West on the cast, and found her untalented. 🙄- BTG: History, Behind the Scenes Articles & Photos
The hand is giving me Jeanne Cooper as Katherine Chancellor. The costuming just looks.... top quality. I just know the fabric feels rich with not a stitch out of fücking place. I also notice that Nicole is presented as more muted (with the sparkles), while Dani is the one wearing pops of colour/print. - Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
